internet of things (IoT) has made possible the sharing of data wirelessly among everyday objects and physical devices. However, distortion and noise can significantly degrade the signaling performance of IoT. Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ACN) technology plays an important role not only in IoT but also in other numerous fields such as system identification, noise cancellation, communication, signal control, etc. At present, IoT is an advance trend and need to deal with upcoming issues in a way to deal properly in enjoying this technology. Due to the presence of noise in the signal, the quality of the signal is reduced, so the quality of communication (signal) can be improved by adaptive noise (acoustic) cancellation technology. This paper aims to provide the performance analysis of adaptive algorithm and the application of adaptive noise cancellation technique. Further, use cases of three-noise cancellation filter in IoT are introduced. In wireless communication, quality of services relies on signal quality and thus noise cancellation plays a vital role in the signaling of IoT. At the end of this paper performance analysis of different ANC algorithms including least mean square (LMS), Normalized least mean square (NLMS), recursive least square (RLS) will be done based on simulation results. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery

As the number and variety of connected objects continue to grow and the devices themselves become smarter, IoT has demonstrated to be the foremost rising innovation where millions of gadgets can interface to the web which makes the life attainable with no human intercession. However, the security and privacy of this IoT environment face some issues that must be overcome to meet the novel solution for IoT applications with no margin for error. Hence, secure architecture for centralized servers is necessitating maintaining the authenticity and protection of information. However, centralized architecture suffers from some challenges viz. reduction in performance, single point of failure and prone to attacks which could be addressed through decentralized or distributed architecture. Blockchain, being decentralized in nature, immutable in function, transparent in-process and reliable without a trusted third party, could be efficient attention for addressing IoT security challenges. In this research work the security concerns like access control mechanisms for IoT applications like smart city, smart healthcare system through Blockchain innovation is addressed. Blockchain being a distributed ledger provides an approach to securely store the data cryptographically. Specifically, proposed work intend to cover different access control methods for the protection of information and IoT security. This paper makes an exhaustive review of how decentralized architecture using Blockchain might potentially improve IoT access control.

Our environment becomes more and more interconnected. Various devices like refrigerators, doors or light bulbs communicate over different networks and provide information for applications that are supposed to make our lives easier and more comfortable. However, such data provide sensitive information about our presence or habits and become captivating for network attackers. It is very challenging to detect incidents in heterogeneous IoT networks where different devices come in and out or change their network profiles quite frequently. We propose a security framework for IoT and fog computing networks to address these challenges. Our framework is very flexible and designed even for devices with limited computational power. All components can be deployed on one network node or distributed among many, which also allows easy scalability. Part of our solution is software IoT gateway that provides the capability to analyse traffic from non-IP IoT sensors. This project covers full-stack security solution because it contains collectors, detectors and management tools. This framework has only software components with no relation to any specific hardware device. It is developed as an open-source project and it is publicly available for the worldwide community. Currently developed detectors detect identified vulnerabilities for Z-Wave, Long Range Wide Area Network (Lo-RaWAN), BLE and IP based IoT protocols. © 2019 IEEE.

Edge computing reduces latency, energy overhead and communication bandwidth bottlenecks. In this paper, a designed Proportional-Integrator (PI) motion controller for a Permanent Magnetic DC (PMDC) motor is integrated with IoT technology. This controller receives the preferred speed from the cloud, performs all necessary computation at Edge Level, derives actions and sends both output (real) speed and Integral Absolute Error (IAE) performance index (as an indication of controller performance) to the cloud. Firstly, both system identification and PI controller tuning are performed with the help of MATLAB Simulink and MATLAB support package for ArdUINO. ArdUINO Mega development board is used to implement the controller. An inbuilt PYTHON program in Raspberry Pi 3 is used as a software Gateway to enable receiving/sending data between the controller and the cloud (*** IoT platform in our case). However, all necessary computations are intended to take place at Edge level only and this is for the tasks of improving latency, power consumption and bandwidth. Gateway level is used to gather the data coming from Edge level and send it to Cloud level;it is also used to send the data coming from Cloud level to the Edge level. Cloud level is the user interface to the system and enables him to control the speed and receive the controller working performance. An integrated work is the main contribution of current paper in which an attempt to construct a link between research works in both control systems and industrial IoT fields. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Agriculture plays a crucial role in the developing countries and acts as one of the main sources of food, income and employment in rural areas. So we aim to design implement an utility system, which comprises of an internet of Things hardware system utilized for monitoring the farmlands 24X7 and Android applications for the farmers and administrator to keep themselves updated about the minute details pertaining to agriculture. This system helps reduce risk involved in agriculture, allows digitization of agriculture, cuts down on mediators thriving in the market and thereby allows farmers to have better agricultural yields and earn a higher margin of profit. The proposed system shall also be of great monetary benefit to the government as they shall be able to deal directly with the farmers in matters of funding and investment in the field of agriculture. In addition to the current updated market rate of crops being displayed over the Android application for easy reference, future market rates based on the demand, supply, base price and season time of each crop, has also been predicted using W D Gann's Prediction and Pattern Matching algorithm that shall be of great help to the buyer, in this case the administrator. This shall help the farmers understand planting which crop shall yield the maximum return depending upon the present agricultural scenario, participate in cashless transactions with the government administrator for direct selling of crops and also be updated about modern tools and farming techniques that are shared and suggested by the educated sector of our society via YouTube links etc. So automating the entire process of agriculture is beneficial for both, the farmers and the government in the long run. © 2019 IEEE.

Proliferation of IoT (internet of Things) and sensor technology has expedited the realization of Smart City. To enable necessary functions, sensors distributed across the city generate a huge volume of stream data that are crucial for controlling Smart City devices. However, due to conditions such as wears and tears, battery drain, or malicious attacks, not all data are reliable even when they are accurately measured. These data could lead to invalid and devastating consequences (e.g., failed utility or transportation services). The assessment of data reliability is necessary and challenging especially for Smart City, as it has to keep up with velocity of big data stream to provide up-to-date results. Most research on data reliability has focused on data fusion and anomaly detection that lack a quantified measure of how much the data over a period of time are adequately reliable for decision-makings. This paper alleviates these issues and presents an online approach to assessing Big stream data reliability in a timely manner. By employing a well-studied evidence-based theory, our approach provides a computational framework that assesses data reliability in terms of belief likelihoods. The framework is lightweight and easy to scale, deeming fit for streaming data. We evaluate the approach using a real application of light sensing data of 1,323,298 instances. The preliminary results are consistent with logical rationales, confirming validity of the approach. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery.

Information security is the key to the development of modern internet technology. The distributed mechanism, decentralized mechanism, password mechanism and scripted mechanism of the Blockchain present a completely new perspective for the development of internet information security technology. The Blockchain technology redefines the storage and dissemination methods of the information in the network. Neither participant needs to know each other, and nor does it require third-party certification bodies to participate. It records, transmits and stores transferring activities of the information value by distributed technology, ensures that data is not tampered and forged based on an asymmetric cryptographic algorithm, enables all participants reached a consensus on the status of blockchain data information. And from the current industry research on blockchain technology, it expounds the application of blockchain technology in identity authentication, data protection and network security. The Blockchain technology will be a great driving force in the process of information security technology change, and will have a far-reaching impact on the expansion of information security.
