Efficient online discovering and applying geospatial information resources (GIRs) is critical in Earth Science domain as while for cross-disciplinary applications. However, to achieve it is challenging due to the heterogeneity, complexity and privacy of online GIRs. In this article, GeoSquare, a collaborative online geospatial information sharing and geoprocessing platform, was developed to tackle this problem. Specifically, (1) GIRs registration and multi-view query functions allow users to publish and discover GIRs more effectively. (2) Online geoprocessing and real-time execution status checking help users process data and conduct analysis without pre-installation of cumbersome professional tools on their own machines. (3) A service chain orchestration function enables domain experts to contribute and share their domain knowledge with community members through workflow modeling. (4) User inventory management allows registered users to collect and manage their own GIRs, monitor their execution status, and track their own geoprocessing histories. Besides, to enhance the flexibility and capacity of GeoSquare, distributed storage and cloud computing technologies are employed. To support interactive teaching and training, GeoSquare adopts the rich internet application (RIA) technology to create user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Results show that GeoSquare can integrate and foster collaboration between dispersed GIRs, computing resources and people. Subsequently, educators and researchers can share and exchange resources in an efficient and harmonious way.

There is a problem in the management and control of these appliances so as to meet the comfort, health and security at home. To overcome this problem a smart control based system has been proposed. When we talk about internet of things (IoT), there are large numbers of distinct devices which are connected throughout different systems. These systems provide open platform to all digital devices accessing data from such systems. So, it becomes quite difficult to design such a system for IoT which can handle large classification of devices and also technologies like link layer associated to it. The search for innovative solutions within the health care context has largely motivated the conduct of scientific research in this area. Despite the technological resources available nowadays, there are still many problems in the hospital environment. We propose a solution to assist medical teams in performing their activities. It is a platform of information distribution that focus on the status of patients' health and is meant to be easily accessed by health care professionals. It also supports the automatic collection of vital patient data by using Arduino microcontrollers, medical sensors and wearables. In addition, it performs an automatic detection process of anomalies in a patient's condition in real time and sends alerts to the health care providers in charge, through the use of software agents. We conducted a case study in a Brazilian hospital in the city of Rio de Janeiro. In this experiment, a medical team used our platform. We observed that any solution should have good usability in order to be adopted as a tool by health care professionals in their work routine.

Crowd sensing between users with smart mobile devices is a new trend of development in internet. In order to recommend the suitable service providers for crowd sensing requests, this paper presents a Fine-grained Crowd-sourcing Model (FCM) based on Ontology theory that helps users to select appropriate service providers. First, the characteristic properties which extracted from the service request will be compared with the service provider based on ontology triple. Second, recommendation index of each service provider is calculated through similarity analysis and cluster analysis. Finally, the service decision tree is proposed to predict and recommend appropriate candidate users to participate in crowd sensing service. Experimental results show that this method provides more accurate recommendation than present recommendation systems and consumes less time to find the service provider through clustering algorithm.

Design of a fully integrated power amplifier (PA) with distributed active transformer (DAT) architecture is introduced in this paper. PA achieves high efficiency and high power performance necessary for long range internet of Thing (IoT) wireless communication systems. The amplifier is implemented in a 0.18 μm SiGe BiCMOS technology with 3.3 V supply voltage and achieves a peak output power of +32dBm and a gain of +15dBm while operating at 10GHz. The amplifier has a peak drain efficiency of 35% and peak power added efficiency (PAE) of 47%. The chip has an area of 1.3mm 2 including pads.

This paper proposes an process/environmental parameters monitoring framework based on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) using embedded systems. The developed system will have many applications particularly in the area of aquaculture, tea plantations, vineyards, precision agriculture, green houses monitoring etc. The complexity of the system increases for applications involving aquaculture. The developed systems are tailored for sensing in wide farmland's without (or) very little human supervision. The fully designed and developed system consists of sensors for monitoring the parameters, sensor node with wireless network topology, gateway for collecting the information from the sensor node and transmitting the information to the central control unit. Data base, real-time monitoring and visualization facilities, controlling of sensor nodes and sensors are provided at the central control unit. Sensor nodes, sensor assembly and gateways should with stand demanding environmental conditions like rain, dust, heat, moisture, relative humidity etc. With these systems deployed in large farm's bodies the scientist's will have more and more field data with very little human intervention. The acquired data can be used to provide quantitative indications about the farm's status, thus easy for analysis and decision making. In this paper we are focusing our discussion about WSNs in the field of aquaculture.
