Facing the demand for multi-scenario, differentiated, and decentralized monitoring, and analysis of power quality in distribution networks under the new situation, this paper proposes an edge computing-based power quality monitoring and analysis method for distribution station areas. It introduces the three-layer architecture of the power quality monitoring system for the distribution station area. It designs three monitoring modes based on edge computing, namely light monitoring, normal monitoring, and intensive monitoring. The key indicator calculation and statistical analysis method of power quality under an edge computing framework are presented. Typical application scenarios are selected for pilot application and verification. The results show that this method can realize the quantitative analysis of power quality operation in the power distribution area, actively discover potential power quality problems in the power distribution area, and meet the diversified needs of power quality monitoring and analysis in the power distribution area.

With the rapid development of modern communication technology, in the fields of the internet of Things, smart cities and autonomous driving, in order to meet the high bandwidth and low latency characteristics of 5G (5th-Generation) networks, as well as the urgent needs of processing massive data and providing real-time intelligent services, it is imperative to improve and optimize the communication AI (Artificial Intelligence) model. Therefore, this paper moves data processing and analysis from the centralized cloud to the edge of the network, near the user access point, aiming to reduce data transfer time and improve response speed, and utilizes artificial intelligence technology to enable more efficient and adaptive network management and service customization. This paper focuses on the role and advantages of edge computing in 5G communication, the application of artificial intelligence combined with edge computing in 5G communication, and the realization of edge AI technology architecture. Finally, two sets of simulation results are as follows: The average accuracy error of the optimized edge AI model and cloud AI model is less than 1%, and the average response time is reduced by 31.9ms. The research helps to better understand network behavior, predict and manage traffic, and dynamically deploy resources.

Despite the relentless progress in adoption of smart devices occurring around all us in our smart homes, our wearable devices, our smart cities and workplaces -, progress in the adoption of smart technology in the mining sector has languished. Yet the mining sector powers our energy systems and makes components for smart devices possible, while employing over 4.5 million people world-wide in some of the most extreme & hostile environments. This paper presents the design of a prototype industrial IoT platform for large-scale industrial automation of conventional mines.
