An extension to the subtype relationship in C++ implemented with template metaprogramming

Families of independent classes, where each class represents a separate, orthogonal concern are highly attractive for implementing collaboration-based design. However, required subtype relationship between such families cannot be expressed in many programming languages. This paper presents a framework to handle collaborating groups of classes using template metaprogramming based on standard C++ features in the style of Loki: :Typelist. Our solution provides tailor-made implicit conversion rules between appropriate groups, inclusion polymorphism and a tool for dynamic binding.

In order to extract the fault feature validity in early fault diagnosis, method based on kernel principal component analysis and genetic programming (GP) is presented. The time domain features of the vibration signal are extracted and the initial symptom parameters (SP) are constructed. Then the combination to the initial SPs is carried on to optimize and build composite characteristics by GP. Through kernel principal component analysis (KPCA), the nonlinear principal component of the original characteristics is produced. Finally, the nonlinear principal components are selected as the feature subspace to classify the conditions of rolling bearing. Meanwhile, the within-class and among-class distance is introduced to compare and analyze the bearing condition recognition effect by using KPCA and GP plus KPCA separately. Experimental results show that the features extracted by kernel principal component analysis and genetic programming perform better ability in identifying the working states of the rolling bearing.

In component-based software development, the mechanism by which the software components which best satisfy a user’s query are retrieved is indispensable. However, conventional retrieval methods cannot evaluate the total characteristics of a component, because they consider a single aspect of the component or require an additional description. In this paper, we propose a new distance metric, "directed replaceability distance" (Drd), which represents how different two components are in detail from the viewpoint of structure, behavior, and granularity. We have developed a retrieval system which uses Drd as a measure of the difference between a user’s query prototype component and the components stored in a repository. In this paper, we outline the concept of Drd and the usefulness of our retrieval system. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.

In order to formulate high-quality and reliable supplier schemes in the enterprise's raw material ordering, according to the order and supply data of 402 raw material suppliers of an enterprise in recent five years, we have determined five indicators, including average supply quantity, supply times, supply qualification rate, average satisfaction rate and maximum capacity of suppliers. On this basis, a quantitative index evaluation model based on principal component analysis and "S" curve is established, Finally, 50 most important suppliers were selected. Then, Taking 24 week ordering cost, minimum transport loss of forwarders and minimum suppliers as objective functions, a multi-objective programming model is established, we use Heuristics algorithm to solve the problem and determine the ordering and transshipment scheme. Finally, we use the method of comparative analysis to obtain that the effect of our scheme can stabilize the production capacity of the enterprise while reducing the cost of the enterprise. © 2023 SPIE.

The Know-It-All Project is investigating methodologies for the development, application, and evolution of frameworks. A concrete framework for database management systems is being developed as a case study for the methodology research. The methodology revolves around a set of models for the domain, the functionality, the architecture, the design, and the code. These models reflect the common and variable features of the domain. Refactoring of source code has been studied as a preliminary step in the evolution of object-oriented software. In cascaded refactoring, we view framework evolution as a two-step process: refactoring and extension. The refactoring step is a set of refactorings, one for each model. The refactorings chosen for a model determine the rationale or constraints for the choice of refactorings of the next model. There are several issues with respect to architecture that we have encountered and are exploring. These include (1) the choice of models for the architecture;(2) the design of the architecture and its evaluation;(3) the evolution of the architecture by extending the concept of refactoring from source code to architecture;and (4) the modeling of variation in architectures across the product line. Here we focus on the refactoring of the architecture.

Aspect-Oriented programming (AOP) promises the modularization of so-called crosscutting functionalities in large applications. Currently, almost all approaches to AOP provide means for the description of sequential aspects that are to be applied to a sequential base program. In particular, there is no formally-defined concurrent approach to AOP, with the result that coordination issues between aspects and base programs as well as between aspects cannot precisely be *** paper presents Concurrent Event-based AOP (CEAOP), which addresses this issue. Our contribution can be detailed as follows. First, we formally define a model for concurrent aspects which extends the sequential Event-based AOP approach. The definition is given as a translation into concurrent specifications using Finite Sequential Processes (FSP), thus enabling use of the Labelled Transition System Analyzer (LTSA) for formal property verification. Further, we show how to compose concurrent aspects using a set of general composition operators. Finally, we sketch a Java prototype implementation for concurrent aspects, which generates coordination specific code from the FSP model defining the concurrent AO application. Copyright © 2006 ACM.

It is assumed that the vehicles entering the intersection can establish real-time and effective interaction with the intersection control center under the V2X technology. The vehicle optimal control (VOC) algorithm was proposed in this paper. The algorithm comprehensively considers factors such as controllable area, prohibited lane change area, safe following distance, and safe lane change conditions. And based on the COM interface of vissim software, the control algorithm is implemented by C++ programming. Under the conditions of different intersection saturation and control area distance, the traditional method and V2X method control experiment are carried out respectively. The results show that when the saturation does not exceed 0.45, the VOC algorithm has the best effect on the effect of the intersection, and the highest speed increase is 27%, the delay is reduced by 67%, and the number of stops is reduced by 65%. When oversaturated, the algorithm does not have a significant effect on the improvement of the running effect. When the saturation is 0.45-0.6, 0.75-0.9, the optimal control distance is 200m, 300m, and the remaining saturation range is not sensitive to the control distance.

The size, complexity, and integration level of software systems is increasing c- stantly. Companies in all domains identify that software de?nes the competitive edge of their products. These developments require us to constantly search for new approaches to increase the productivity and quality of our software - velopment and to decrease the cost of software maintenance. generative and component-based technologies hold considerablepromise with respect to achi- ing these goals. GCSE 2001 constituted another important step forward and provided a platform for academic and industrial researchers to exchange ideas. These proceedings represent the third conference on generative and com- nent-based software engineering. The conference originated as a special track on generative programming from the Smalltalk and Java in Industry and - ucation conference (STJA), organized by the working group “generative and component-Based Software engineering” of the “Gesellschaft fur ¨ Informatik” FG 2.1.9 “Object-Oriented Software engineering.” However, the conference has evolved substantially since then, with its own, independent stature, invited speakers, and, most importantly, a stable and growing community. This year’s conference attracted 43 submissions from all over the world, - dicating the broad, international interest in the research ?eld. Based on careful review by the program committee, 14 papers were selected for presentation. I would like to thank the members of the program committee, all renowned - perts, for their dedication in preparing thorough reviews of the submissions.

Background subtraction is a critical component of numerous image processing applications, particularly in video surveillance. Considerable effort has been devoted to enhancing the accuracy of codebook algorithms. However, these improvements have led to significant increases in computing power requirements, rendering them impractical for real-Time applications. The performances of codebook algorithms are mainly due to its inherent complexity and the variable number of codewords dedicated to represents each pixel. Which requires frequent memory allocation and deallocation. To address these limitations, we propose optimizing the codebook model in order to reduce its size while preserving accuracy and enabling real-Time processing. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents the modular machine design environment (MMDE), a software environment that enables the 'virtual design/engineering' of component-based manufacturing machine systems. It consists of a suite of highly integrated tools supporting the visualisation, design, programming, verification and evaluation of machine systems built from mechanical, electronic and software components/modules in a virtual environment. Using three-dimensional (3-D) graphical simulation with a number of add-on tools, MMDE supports visualisation, design, simulation and verification of both the physical model and control logic for design and/or re-configuring machine systems to satisfy new or changed application/customer requirements before any real implementation is made. System design, implementation techniques, and evaluation of MMDE in a real industrial test case are covered in detail. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
