In recent years, UAVs (unmanned air vehicles) have shown great application potential in the fields of logistics transportation, disaster relief, agricultural plant protection and military missions. However, the endurance and power supply efficiency of UAVs are the key factors restricting their application. Under the background of continuous breakthrough and development of wireless charging technology, this paper proposes a shelter autonomous wireless charging technology scheme for rotor UAV cluster. The application scenario analysis and overall design, motion scheme design, overall layout structure design and key component design selection of the autonomous wireless charging shelter are carried out. Based on the LabVIEW programming language, the shelter motion control and energy management system are designed and developed, and the design and performance verification of the autonomous wireless charging shelter of the UAV group are completed. The shelter can realize the functions of autonomous cruise, auxiliary precise berthing, autonomous wireless charging and unmanned remote control of the rotorcraft UAV, significantly improve the endurance and efficiency of the rotorcraft UAV, and effectively expand the operation mode and application field of the rotorcraft UAV.

The utilization of fiber systems for transmitting Millimeter-Wave (MMW) signals has gained significant traction in recent years, particularly for advanced wireless communication applications such as 5G and beyond. However, wirelessly transmitting MM-Wave radio signals via the atmosphere experiences significant signal deterioration, known as attenuation. To address this constraint, it is beneficial to utilize Radio Over Fiber (RoF) technology wherever possible. This study investigates developments in the combination of wireless and optical networks RoF and compensates for the error by generative Adversarial Networks (GAN). The proposed system is constructed by utilizing the simulation programs VPIphotonics and Python. VPIphotonics (Ver.11.1) and Python (Ver. 3.7.6) are programming platforms designed to develop algorithms, analyze data and applications, and design models in real-time to compensate for the errors that occur in the proposed system. GANs used to compensate for errors in the RoF system shows a sophisticated application of machine learning techniques to improve signal integrity and reduce distortions. The 4X4 MIMO proposed system has a bandwidth of 17 GHz and reached a data rate of 133.33 Gb/s; the centre frequency is 160 GHz. This signal is transmitted over fiber lengths (50 km) with EVM ≈ 4.5 at the 50 km distance and 4.5 % with data rate Gb/s for the 4X4 MIMO proposed system.

Summary form only given. Software architectures are an emerging discipline in software engineering as they play a central role in many modern software development paradigms. Quantifying software architectures is an important research agenda, as it allows software architects to subjectively assess quality attributes and rationalize architecture-related decisions. In this paper, we discuss the attribute of change propagation probability, which reflects the likelihood that a change that arises in one component of the architecture propagates (i.e. mandates changes) to other components.

Background. Concurrent and parallel programming is difficult to teach and learn as the understanding of complex and abstract concepts such as nondeterminism, semaphore, and rare conditions, among others, is required [1, 2, 9], having as a core issue the synchronisation of processes to achieve a common goal [4]. It is well-acknowledged that concurrent and parallel programming skills are fundamental since, nowadays, computing is increasingly handled in a parallel manner [7].Problem and Motivation. Therefore, identifying students’ pitfalls and successes when solving practical concurrent and parallel programming exercises could shed light on the best approaches and strategies that they use [3]. In addition, the advent of large language models, and generative AI applications such as ChatGPT, has prompted intensive research on their use in several areas including programming teaching and learning [8]. Yet, the studies in the literature have focused on issues related to learning to program by novice students in introductory courses (e.g., CS1, CS2) [6]. Less work, however, has been presented on the impact of generative AI tools in advanced programming practices such as concurrent and parallel ***. To investigate whether generative AI has had an impact on the submitted concurrent and parallel programming exercises solutions at the University of Aizu, Japan, we performed a comparison analysis of the students’ submissions over 2020–2023. The analysis included five different exercises covering the basis of concurrency through various tasks and scenarios where the implementation of parallel processes is needed as solution. For instance, exercises 2.3 and 2.4 required to create parallel processes and perform independent computations; exercises 3.2 and 3.3, required synchronisation of the parallel processes; and in exercise 3.5 a code template was given for modification. We analysed the submissions of 72 undergraduate 3rd year students (avg. 18 students/year)

Designing high performance Software Defined Radio (SDR) with low power and flexibility is a major challenge. While the high performance DSP processors are unable to meet the speed requirements of these SDRs, System on chips (SOCs) are also not suitable because of their limited flexibility. Recently dynamically reconfigurable FPGAs have emerged as high performance programmable hardware to execute highly parallel, computationally intensive signal processing functions efficiently. Some FPGAs offer MAC (multiply and accumulate) units which the basic units for signal processing functions. Since basic intention of an SDR is to implement different modulation/ demodulation schemes, basic building blocks for such schemes are signal processing functions and FPGAs have become an important component for implementing these. However, the effectiveness of such an approach with respect to cost, performance and flexibility need to be examined. Keeping these issues in view, this paper proposes a new flexible architecture Radio-Processor(RP) for designing SDR, examines the feasibility of efficient implementation of the such a processor using state-of-the-art FPGAs and finally suggests an ASIC implementation.

This study addresses the problem of optimal design for series-parallel multi-state power systems, where each system component is available in the market in several versions. The Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) is applied to determine the optimal system structure or the optimal combination of versions for each subsystem or component. A two-objective problem is first considered, where the aim is to maximize system reliability while minimizing the investment cost. The second problem has three objective functions and is defined to maximize reliability and performance while minimizing the investment cost. The results show that NSGA-II can provide better solutions than another recently proposed algorithm.

Talent similarity calculation is an important and useful research problem for precise talent search in online recruitment. However, the semantic information and time-aware factor in the talent resume make it challenging to obtain effective talent similarity. In this paper, we proposed a time-aware and semantic resume analysis based talent similarity calculation method, termed TSRA. TSRA mainly learns the similarity between two key parts in the talent resume, i.e., skills and work experiences. The pre-trained language model is firstly employed to generate word embeddings to catch the semantic information in the resume. A greedy matching approach is adopted for skills similarity calculation to align the skill sets with different sizes. For work experience similarity, TSRA transforms the work experiences into a sequence with a time series component. Then a dynamic programming algorithm is utilized to integrate the job title embedding, duration factor, and freshness factor. Finally, talent similarity is regarded as the weighted sum of these two types of similarities. The comprehensive experimental study shows that TSRA significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods.
