As Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption accelerates, the demand for high-performance and thermally efficient charging infrastructure intensifies. With the continuous advancements and findings in the field of semiconductors and power electronics devices, the need to compare the thermal efficiencies of conventional devices and recent devices is a given. This paper gives a thorough comparative thermal analysis of different semiconductor technologies for the power devices proposed in Onboard Electric Vehicle Charger (OBEVC) using the PLECS software environment. The investigation contrasts the heat loss characteristics and thermal performance of designs utilizing conventional Silicon (Si) MOSFETs, SiC MOSFETs and diodes, and GaN MOSFETs. The research incorporates precise thermal models for WBG devices, carefully taking into factors such as temperature-dependent losses and junction-to-case resistances. Furthermore, the analysis assesses the junction temperatures, maximum component temperatures, and thermal management factors for every design. The goal of this paper is to improve the design of high-performance and thermally efficient EV charging infrastructure by offering important insights into the thermal behavior of WBG Semiconductor devices in comparison to its typical Si counterparts. © 2024 IEEE.

Rapid advancement of high-speed power switching devices lead to widespread usage of Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) in variable speed drive systems. The quality of the power delivered by a VSI is highly dependent on the modulation strategy. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is the traditional modulation strategy for VSIs. PWMs are generated mostly based on fixed frequency carrier waveform. These classical modulation strategies suffer from the high total harmonic distortion in low carrier frequency (CF) and high-power loss in high CF. To diminish the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and power loss of the VSI, this paper proposes a hybrid carrier frequency (HCF) method. The performance of the proposed method has been tested on an experimental setup for a validation and the results are compared with the classical approach. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach increases the efficiency by reducing the switching losses without increasing the complexity of the PWM. © 2024 IEEE.

Seizure detection is a critical aspect of epilepsy management, and accurate identification can significantly improve patient outcomes. This study explores the application of machine learning techniques, specifically the Random Forest classifier, for the detection of seizures using electroencephalogram (EEG) data. By employing a systematic approach that includes feature extraction and channel reduction, we enhanced the model's performance. Relevant features were extracted from EEG signals, including time-domain statistics and frequency-domain characteristics, which are vital for effective classification. The model was evaluated using standard classification metrics such as precision, recall, F1-score, and accuracy, yielding high performance, particularly in identifying non-seizure events. These findings highlight the potential of ensemble learning methods for real-time seizure monitoring and underscore the importance of this research in developing reliable diagnostic tools. Overall, our results demonstrate that machine learning approaches can significantly contribute to improved patient outcomes in epilepsy management, paving the way for future advancements in clinical applicability. © 2025 IEEE.

Sentence semantic matching plays a crucial role in various natural language processing (NLP) tasks such as question answering, information retrieval, and text classification. Prior research has made significant contributions to sentence semantic matching, but there is still room for improvement, especially in handling subtle semantic representations. This paper introduces a new approach to sentence semantic matching that integrates Isotropic Batch Normalization and Generalized Pooling Operator, two advanced neural network architectures. By combining these techniques, we aim to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of semantic matching and address the challenges of capturing subtle semantic representations. We compare our approach to existing state-of-the-art models and demonstrate its effectiveness through comprehensive experiments on benchmark datasets. © 2024 SPIE.

To solve the problem of low efficiency of artificial salvage of surface garbage, a surface garbage collection device based on Raspberry PI was proposed. The YOLOv7 object detection model and binocular camera were used to recognize and locate surface garbage, and the brushless motor and steering gear were used to drive the garbage to the garbage location to collect garbage. In addition, GPS module and ultrasonic module are added to realize global path planning function based on ant colony algorithm and obstacle avoidance function of artificial potential field. The test proves that the device can realize the functions of garbage identification, garbage location, garbage collection and automatic cruise. © 2024 SPIE.

This survey investigates different approaches to improve the ability of cloud systems to withstand cache-based side-channel attacks, with a primary emphasis on real-time detection capabilities and the ability to identify stealth attacks, incorporating machine learning and high-performance computing (HPC) techniques. Additionally, the research assesses the effectiveness, accuracy, and impact of various defence mechanisms on cloud systems, specifically considering high-performance computing (HPC). Over the past decade, the utilization of machine learning for flood forecasting has experienced significant growth, propelled by advancements in high-performance computing, risk-informed decision-making, and collaborative efforts within the domains of weather and climate forecasting. These approaches offer the potential to enhance flood mapping methodologies and address the limitations inherent in numerical models, thus gaining traction in flood risk management. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive review of the literature on machine learning applications in flood estimation and prediction across various flood mapping contexts. The investigation will delve into diverse flood types, influential conditioning factors, and varied data sources. By studying 34 pertinent articles within the Indian context, this research endeavors to provide a comprehensive overview of current research endeavors, pinpoint existing knowledge gaps, and explore promising avenues for future research. Additionally, the paper underscores the imperative to enhance flood forecasting technologies and bridge the divide between academic inquiry, hydro-meteorological model advancement, and pragmatic flood management practices by leveraging the capabilities of probabilistic machine learning and deep learning models. © 2024 IEEE.

The identification of communities within social networks holds paramount importance in scientific investigations and social network analyses. Communities refer to compact clusters of nodes that exhibit stronger interconnections with each other rather than with nodes outside their community. By accurately detecting and understanding these communities, we can achieve profound insights into the structure and functionality of social networks. In this research, we introduce an innovative and improved meta-heuristic algorithm specifically designed for detecting community in social networks. Leveraging the powerful gray wolf algorithm as its foundation, our proposed algorithm employs a combination of mutation, combination, and local search operators to significantly enhance its performance. Moreover, to further refine the outcomes, we have integrated the label propagation algorithm into our approach. To measure the efficacy of our proposed algorithm, extensive evaluations were conducted on various social network datasets. The findings consistently validate our algorithm's ability to converge towards optimal results, thanks to its exceptional accuracy and precision. By introducing this advanced meta-heuristic algorithm, we make contributions to the field of social network analysis by providing a robust and efficient solution for community detection. Our algorithm empowers researchers and analysts to acquire a more profound comprehension of social network structures and functions, thereby facilitating improved decision-making and problem-solving. © 2024 IEEE.

The ability to recognize brain tumors via medical imaging is crucial for brain tumor treatment. This proposed work focused on a technique for detecting brain tumors by employing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to achieve precise and prompt diagnosis of brain tumors. This frame utilizes a variety of optimizers such as Stochastic Gradient Descent, RMSprop, Adam (Adaptive Moment Estimation), Adadelta, Adagrad, Adamax, and Nadam. The model's performance is evaluated using accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, and recall as the primary metrics. Leveraging a dataset of 6951 MRI images, results reveal varying performance across optimizers, with a peak accuracy of 98.8% emphasizing the need for careful selection based on specific requirements and dataset characteristics. Advancing brain tumor identification, aiming to enhance early intervention and patient outcomes through the integration of cutting-edge technology, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), which offer high precision in analyzing intricate patterns within medical imaging data. © 2024 IEEE.
