This paper addresses the analytical models and statistical methods used to analyze reliability systems that form the basis for evaluation and prediction of the stochastic failure and nonrepairable behavior of complex process control systems, assembled using a variety of components. The reliability model design of a two-phase gas-liquid separator process has been conducted in this study. The quantitative fault tree analysis approach which has been proved to be acceptable and widely applied in many applications of modeling and methods supporting the system integrator and safety engineer not only to identify how subsystems and components could fail and what are the corresponding effects on the whole system, but also to quantify the reliability parameters for complex systems. The results obtained from our case study can be useful as the tools for justifying the design and implement of BPCS&ESD systems.

The machining sector is increasingly making use of industrial robots to benefit from high flexibility and low investment costs in relation to the working area. However, low absolute accuracy as well as low stiffness prevent the breakthrough in industry. This paper describes a concept, developed at the WZL Chair of Machine Tools, which enables robot model-based planning optimization by developing an expert system which represents robot process behavior in milling operations.

Industry 4.0, the scheme that drives the fourth industrial revolution, has been, since its conception, reshaping the manufacturing industry. To advance current industrial chains into the smart factories of the future, cyber-physical systems are monitored and communicate with each other to ensure transparent interoperability, giving birth to the emerging field of industrial informatics. To enable the repair and recycling of high value jet engine compressor blades, additive manufacturing is utilized. The complex geometries and asymmetrical wear of the blades require robotic welding systems to he trained by experienced human welding engineers in order to be able to adapt to differing components. Demonstrated in this paper, process monitoring and industrial informatics are introduced to the adaption of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) utilized by a developing robotic system for the additive re manufacturing of aeroengine components. Using a novel variant of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), the robotic welding system under development is a product of an industry-academia collaboration between the Enabling Sciences for Intelligent Manufacturing Group (ESIM) of the University of Sheffield and VBC Instrument Engineering Ltd.

This article describes the development of a methodology for the learning of visual and reactive behaviours using reinforcement learning. With the use of artificial vision the environment is perceived in 3D, and it is possible to avoid obstacles that are invisible to other sensors that are more common in mobile robotics. Reinforcement learning reduces the need for intervention in behaviour design, and simplifies its adjustment to the environment, the robot and the task. The designed methodology is intended to be general;thus, in order to change the desired behaviour, only the reinforcement and the filtering of the image need to be changed. For the definition of the reinforcement a laser sensor is used, and for the definition of the states a fixed 3x3 grid is used. The behaviours learned were wall following, object following, corridor following and platform following. Results are presented with a Pioneer 2 AT. A Gazebo 3D simulator was used for the Learning and testing phase, and a test of the wall following behaviour was carried out in a real environment.

We describe a general approach for using linearizing feedforwardcontrol inputs for large degree of freedom (dof) multi-limb robots operating in scenarios involving motion and force constraints, and under-actuated degrees of freedom arising from the task and the environment. Our solution is general and has low computational cost needed for real-time control loops. It supports the tuning of the feedforward term to meet multiple task objectives. Being structure-based, it is able to easily accommodate changes in motion and force constraints that often occur in robotics scenarios.

Considering the impact of sea clutter on target classification and recognition, a method based on RBF is proposed to restrain the actual sea clutter, which can be converted the sea clutter into random noise. After denosing, a S transform time-frequency approach is used to obtain the two time-frequency distribution images. They are helicopter and propeller aircraft images with nosie. Then extracted the invariant moment features of images for target recognition. The simulation results have shown an average accuracy of 85%, which validates the effectiveness of this method.
There are lots of flight scene simulation ways about air targets, and common way is simulation to kinematics and dynamics of targets, which is of high precision, but enormous computation, complicated modeling. so this...

The paper presents the correspondence in between directional change and anti-windup phenomenon with respect to a priori anti-windup compensator on the basis of MPC (simulation results include plants with not equal number of inputs and outputs). It shows what is the excess of directional change for consecutive predictions of control vectors for a given prediction horizons.
