Vehicle platooning is very effective technology for safely increasing the traffic capacity of the road network. When the platooning vehicles and the normal vehicles run together, the platooning vehicles should control the inter-vehicle distance with different rules for the normal vehicle. In this study, the vehicle velocity control model is defined according to the car-following model. Then validity of the model is discussed in computer simulation and experiment of LEGO MINDSTORM EV3. Integrating solar photovoltaic (PV) systems into the energy grid has garnered significant attention due to its potential to mitigate environmental concerns and meet the escalating energy demands. This research presents a comprehensive design approach for a boost converter-based control system to regulate the power output of a solar PV system. The study addresses critical considerations such as the arrangement of solar panels to achieve desired power ratings, implementation of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms, and operation in voltage control mode. The DC load is connected to the boost converter output, allowing the solar PV system to operate in MPPT and de-rated voltage control modes. The designed control algorithm has been successfully implemented in a 2.03 kW small-scale PV system, and performance is evaluated based on both controllers output voltage regulation. Based on the findings, MPPT outperforms voltage control strategies. Smooth voltage swings were observed to maintain a steady DC output at 410 V. Additionally, the current vs time graph illustrates that prolonged solar panel exposure correlates with higher output when under MPPT control. This study contributes to advancing solar PV system design and control strategies, offering insights for researchers and practitioners in renewable energy technology.

In Japan, labor shortage of agriculture is becoming increasingly severe due to the lack of farmers and aging. Therefore, the development of automation of vegetable production such as transplanting, harvesting and transporting is required. In this paper, a self-localization method by using LiDAR and a robust control method of a transplanter are proposed for accurate transplanting. In this system, the path of transplanter is generated by using 3D point cloud data, and the transplanting part follows it and plant seedlings of cabbage accurately. Path generation is performed considering vehicle tilt in the roll direction depending on the environment of grooves. An accurate calculation of lateral and angular position of the transplanting part is also proposed. For path following control, sliding-mode control and inverse optimal control are applied to transplanter. The experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of these proposed methods and problems we have to tackle on. Basically, it was possible to perform automated transplanting accurately, but there was an occasional problem of offset error from 0. It was confirmed that inverse optimal control is superior to sliding-mode control and is more robust to environmental changes.

This paper has proposed an easily replicable and novel approach for developing a Digital Twin (DT) system for industrial robots in intelligent manufacturing applications. Our framework enables effective communication via Robot Web Service (RWS), while a real-time simulation is implemented in Unity 3D and Web-based Platform without any other 3rd party tools. The framework can do real-time visualization and control of the entire work process, as well as implement real-time path planning based on algorithms executed in MATLAB. Results verify the high communication efficiency with a refresh rate of only 17ms. Furthermore, our developed web-based platform and Graphical User Interface (GUI) enable easy accessibility and user-friendliness in real-time control.
