Based on the analysis of characteristics in weld seam images, this paper proposes an improved method for detecting the centerline position using an adapted Canny algorithm, addressing issues such as susceptibility to noise interference and poor connection of strong and weak edges. Initially, adaptive median filtering and enhanced bilateral filtering replace traditional Gaussian filtering in the Canny algorithm. Subsequently, histogram analysis and Otsu's method are employed to adaptively select thresholds for the Canny operator. Finally, the Canny algorithm is utilized for extracting weld seam edges. Experimental results demonstrate that compared to Gaussian filtering, employing adaptive median and bilateral filtering improves Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) by 9.2145 dB and reduces Mean Squared Error (MSE) by 33.32819, indicating superior effectiveness in preserving image details and eliminating noise. Pratt's Figure of Merit (PFOM) and Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) values approaching 1 further underscore the algorithm's enhanced precision.

Monitoring electric vehicles’ battery situation and indicating the state of health is still challenging. Temperature is one of the critical factors determining battery degradation over time. We have collected more than 2.3 million discharging samples via a custom Internet of Thing device for more than one year to build a machine-learning model that can forecast the battery pack’s average temperature in real-world driving. Our best Bi-LSTM model achieved the mean absolute error of 2.92 ∘ C on test data and 1.7 ∘ C on cross-validation for prediction of 10 min on the battery pack’s temperature. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

The drinking water crisis is one of the prime issues in all over the world. Almost half of the populations of the world isolated from this blessing. Insufficiency of electricity plays a great role in their situations, as without electricity we cannot run a pump. Renewable energy is one of the suitable answers to solve the problem. The most effective resources of renewable energy are solar energy, which could solve this crisis. This research presents a performance analysis of the solar-based water pump controlling system and water quality measuring system using arduino mega. The main objective of this research is to automatically control the water pump and single-axis tracking for solar. Besides, the pH and turbidity of the reserve tank water show into the liquid crystal display (LCD) by using arduino's command. If the turbidity sensor senses the water is polluted then the automatically send the tank's water to the filter for purifying and if the pH level of the water is high or low, the device automatically stops sending the water to the supply. In both cases turbidity low, pH high, and low), the GSM module sends a warning notification to the selected cellular device by using the arduino's command. This work is divided into two parts hardware and software systems. In the hardware part, four light dependent resistors (LDR) are used to sense the maximum light side from the sun. One linear actuator used to move the solar panel to the maximum light source location perceived by the LDRs. In the software part, the code is written by using C programming language and has targeted to the arduino mega controller. In this idea, arduino mega controls the whole thing. An automatic water pump can reduce the loss of pure water. © 2023 IEEE.

Under extreme conditions such as pure rotation, motion blur and poor texture, ORB-SLAM3 cannot perform pose estimation well which leads to trajectory loss inevitably. In this paper, we present a robust compensation method which uses DROID-VO to generate lost trajectories and inserts them into ORB-SLAM3 accurately. Experimental results on EuRoC, Tartanair and TUM-RGBD datasets indicate that the proposed method achieves hizher coverage and can adapt to more conditions.

The creation of an autonomous vehicle has two major goals: to minimize the amount of labor that must be performed manually and to provide the automobile with superior intelligence. In order to turn a standard automobile into an autonomous vehicle that can drive itself around a predetermined map (in this case, a university campus), several modifications need to be made. The outcomes of this project will also contribute to the creation of a more technologically advanced campus atmosphere. Additional responsibilities include taking control of the horn system and being in charge of the headlights while also receiving the response signal from the station. In order to guarantee that everything functions correctly, we utilized components such as the Raspberry Pi, light sensors, motors, Arduino Uno, ultrasonic sensors, buzzers, and cameras. A temporary model is built to ensure that this project is successful right from the start. The training model trains the deep learning approach using images captured by a camera in manual mode, which enables the vehicle to operate in autonomous mode using the multilayered neural network that was taught. The final prototype utilizes image processing methods to track lanes. A few image processing technologies, such as intelligent edge detection, provide autonomous movement capabilities. These algorithms were built and tested on the vehicle. The system operated without a hitch, and the data gathered was within reasonable bounds of expectations. As well as demonstrating how the autonomous system of an electric car works. © 2023 IEEE.

Developing a safe, stable, and efficient obstacle avoidance policy in crowded and narrow scenarios for multiple robots is challenging. Most existing studies either use centralized control or need communication with other robots. In this paper, we propose a novel logarithmic map-based deep reinforcement learning method for obstacle avoidance in complex and communication-free multi-robot scenarios. In particular, our method converts laser information into a logarithmic map. As a step toward improving training speed and generalization performance, our policies will be trained in two specially designed multi-robot scenarios. Compared to other methods, the logarithmic map can represent obstacles more accurately and improve the success rate of obstacle avoidance. We finally evaluate our approach under a variety of simulation and real-world scenarios. The results show that our method provides a more stable and effective navigation solution for robots in complex multi-robot scenarios and pedestrian scenarios. The solution must be efficient (i.e. fast) in time and efficient (i.e. small) in memory consumption during execution. Many schoolchildren participating in school Olympiads in informatics continue to improve their skills and participate in student competitions. This article is devoted to features and practices of such Olympiads.

Distortion of underwater images can impair the accuracy and robustness of visual odometry algorithms, leading, in particular, to a decrease in the number of detected conjugate key points on pairs of images. In this regard, image preprocessing, the selection of key points and the odometry algorithms themselves are important questions in solving underwater robotics problems. The paper considers on real data the influence of various algorithms for preprocessing and constructing key points on the properties of video odometry algorithms in conditions of underwater and uncontrolled camera movement. It is shown that the number of key points determined on the sequence of images, and, consequently, the accuracy of obtaining the trajectory of the camera movement can depend radically on both preprocessing and the detector used. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents a centralized medium access control (MAC) protocol for wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical intra-rack data center networks (DCNs) which exploit the software-defined (SD) networking scheme. Especially, in this paper we introduce an efficient bandwidth allocation strategy called EBA-MAC to coordinate communication between servers within a single rack. The primary objective of EBA-MAC is to prevent data collisions and minimize latency for users of cloud applications. The proposed SD optical intra-rack DCN architecture accompanied by the suggested EBA-MAC protocol achieves a 95.5% optical bandwidth utilization and an average packet delay of few μs, meeting the strict delay requirements of modern cloud services. Compared to a SotA intra-rack DCN approach, it achieves an 8% higher throughput and 95% less mean packet delay for heavy loads. The stability of the proposed EBA-MAC protocol is also investigated under varying bursty traffic scenarios to explore its performance level for delay-sensitive applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Blasting operations carried out at mining enterprises and in construction have a negative seismic impact on the production environment of enterprises and other protected objects. As the pit depth increases, the slope angle of the ledges and sides increases, which increases the likelihood of collapses as a result of seismic impacts of blasting *** information system SIBGEO-AM - seismic monitoring of industrial explosions at mining enterprises, created by SIGI LLC, is described. The seismic monitoring system includes a network of seismic stations installed along the perimeter of the quarry excavation, and a computer program designed to automate the process of collecting, data processing, analyzing, presenting, viewing and storing seismic monitoring results. Examples of records of typical seismic impacts of industrial explosions are given. Algorithms of filtration, selection of events, calculation of seismic impact force in the epicenter of the explosion on the side of the quarry are shown.
