Today's digitalization has become a staple of life, and consumers' escalating digital lifestyles and demand for convenient services are directly driving the digital transformation of the automotive industry. The car will no longer be a single-function transport but will become an intelligent mobile terminal providing mobility services. The influx of digital services into the car will result in a dramatic transformation of the relationship between the driver and the car, where the car will act as an intelligent mobile terminal to transfer and communicate information with people or the surrounding environment, which will lead to an explosion of information in the car, and due to the limitations of human information processing capabilities, this may make the currently established design of human-computer interaction in the car no longer applicable. If we continue to view the human-vehicle relationship through the lens of a control-oriented machine interface, this will place strong constraints on the design of intelligent human-vehicle interaction. The core of the future intelligent vehicle HCI field is a richer and more diverse information interaction between vehicle, human, and environment, so changing the concept from HCI to human-vehicle information interaction may well support the development of future intelligent vehicle systems. In this article, the exploitation of a human-vehicle interaction assistance system for the handover of control of a vehicle under conditional automation is used as an example to discuss how human information interaction is applicable to the automotive domain. © 2021 ACM.

The Industry 5.0 paradigm focuses on industrial operator well-being and sustainable manufacturing practices, where humans play a central role, not only during the repetitive and collaborative tasks of the manufacturing process, but also in the management of the factory floor assets. Human factors, such as ergonomics, safety, and well-being, push the human-centric smart factory to efficiently adopt novel technologies while minimizing environmental and social impact. As operations at the factory floor increasingly rely on collaborative robots (CoBots) and flexible manufacturing systems, there is a growing demand for redundant safety mechanisms (i.e., automatic human detection in the proximity of machinery that is under operation). Fostering enhanced process safety for human proximity detection allows for the protection against possible incidents or accidents with the deployed industrial devices and machinery. This paper introduces the design and implementation of a cost-effective thermal imaging Safety Sensor that can be used in the scope of Industry 5.0 to trigger distinct safe mode states in manufacturing processes that rely on collaborative robotics. The proposed Safety Sensor uses a hybrid detection approach and has been evaluated under controlled environmental conditions. The obtained results show a 97% accuracy at low computational cost when using the developed hybrid method to detect the presence of humans in thermal images. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated and al-ready existing and serious trend towards increasingly sedentary lifestyles, leading to adverse health effects. This is till very present and growing today. To address this challenge, we propose imple-menting serious games as an engaging solution to promote more active behaviors and improve overall well-being. Unlike typical approaches with specialized equipment, this method only requires a laptop with a camera, making it accessible and affordable. The incorporation of gamification elements, such as real-time feedback, progress tracking, and scoring, transforms physical activity into an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Additionally, the use of immersive virtual environments further enhances motivation and engagement. This strategy presents an effective means to increase physical activity, facilitate rehabilitation, and cultivate a sense of accomplishment. By leveraging the power of serious games, we can empower individuals to take control of their health and adopt a more active lifestyle. The key benefits of this solution include improved health outcomes, accessibility, and the integration of motivational gaming features. By implementing this innovative approach, we can contribute to a more active and healthier society.

Each nation's economic sector depends heavily on agriculture. Every day, more people live on the planet, which raises the requirement of food. For the time being, farmers' conventional methods are unable to meet the demand. As a result, new automation techniques are launched to meet these needs and give many people in this industry excellent job prospects. In every industry, including banking, robotics, agriculture, and education, artificial intelligence(AI) has emerged as one of the most crucial technologies. It is playing a very important part in the agriculture sector and changing the agriculture industry. AI protects the agricultural sector from a variety of concerns, including food safety, population expansion, climate change, and employment problems in this industry. Due to AI, the agriculture system of today has advanced to a new level. Real-time crop monitoring, production, harvesting, processing, and marketing have all been enhanced by artificial intelligence. Numerous cutting-edge computer-based systems are created to identify several significant factors, including weed identification, yield identification, crop quality, and many others.

Historical buildings and structures are important for a country and the world since they are the only living evidence of the engineering technology of mankind. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to protect and preserve them to safeguard the identity of the particular civilizations, retain their cultural significance, and ensure their accessibility to present and future generations. Since many historic structures are in a partially dilapidated state, to prevent further deterioration, it is essential to record their present status in structural engineering and building material aspects. This is typically a costly, time-demanding, unsafe, and challenging task. As a solution, 3D geomatics technologies, and UAV systems are now being used in the world to document existing structures, especially in difficult-to-access areas. This is also usually a high-cost task. In this research, an effective technique for generating structural information of an existing building or a similar structure to preserve the details or for duplicating as a true replica is developed. The developed solution is a remote-controllable custom-made drone system with a GoPro Hero 7 camera. Different types of structures were selected, and after running several test cases, the most suitable image-taking technique and the processing platform were identified. The effecting factors to the accuracy such as the number of images taken, and overlap percentage of images were identified and their optimum contribution detected. As a result, the proposed solution abled to yield a dimensional accuracy of 98.9%. This study concludes that the developed effective solution is a valid alternative to high-cost 3D mapping techniques. © 2021 IEEE

The paper presents the comparison of fractional order to integer order transfer function models of physical pendulum. The considered transfer functions describe the behaviour of the system around the lower, stable equilibrium point. Fractional order models are built using ORA approximation. Models were verified using real experimental data. Results of tests show that the fractional order transfer function can correctly describe the physical pendulum. Integer order models are a little bit more accurate, but they require more parameters to identify. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Modern electric power systems with high levels of penetration of renewable energy sources (RES) often present frequency security problems. The lack of inertia due to the reduced number of synchronous generators in these systems, in combination with the usual inability of RES to provide frequency support, leads to system operators having to curtail RES or rely heavily on Under Frequency Load Shedding schemes to ensure frequency security. Fast Frequency Reserves (FFR) have been proposed as a solution to strengthen the frequency support of the system and alleviate security problems. FFR allows mitigating Rate of Change of Frequency, Nadir, and post-fault frequency steady-state problems after an event. In this paper, we present, analyze, implement and compare five FFR controllers to alleviate frequency security problems in low-inertia grids. The low-inertia, islanded, Cyprus dynamic model is used to quantify the results and exhibit the impact on a real system.

This paper aims to enhance the performance of four bladed modified Savonius wind turbine (SWT) for low wind speed. The new ellipse shape profile (NESP) Savonius rotor equipped with quarter cylindrical novel rotor house (NRH) as investigated in previous studies, was investigated using wind tunnel test. In the current study, the rotational speed of various rotor houses was monitored under high wind speeds ranging from 22 to 32.8 m/s. Then, the best configuration was proposed for the open low wind speed studies, with the rope brake tests set up for variation of TSR and torque measurement. The analytical proof was provided to measure the performance of wind turbine. It was found that the use of four NESP bladed with NRH increased the self-starting speed for all low wind speed tests; 3, 4, 5 and 6 m/s. The lower self-starting wind speed of 5 m/s has the maximum Power Coefficient, Cp=0.1, whereas the current SWT geometry of H/D=0.227 which was originally fixed according to past studies requires further improvement. The higher the rotor height, the higher the Cp of combination of 4 bladed NESP SWT and quarter cylindrical rotor house.

Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) is an origination of Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET), where road vehicles will distribute messages and provide safety alerts to notice hazardous circumstances to the drivers. One of its greatest challenges is ensuring Quality of Service (QoS) owing to channel sharing, high traffic and topology changes in VANETs. These challenges cause of degradation of network performance. Congestion control should be properly considered to improve the network performance and transmission message over VANETs. However, there seem significant limitations to most of the other current congestion control mechanisms. In this paper, an enhanced congestion control model based on prioritization and scheduling-based strategy is proposed. This strategy assigns priorities of the safety messages and non-safety messages based of the message type and network condition. Further, safety message can be classified into event-driven messages and beacon messages. At that point, all messages transmit into the appropriate queue based on their priority and schedule all messages in each queue. However, when new message enqueue, reschedule in each queue may cause additional unwanted delay to be processed cause of inefficient scheduling technique. Thus, an improved dynamic scheduling algorithm also proposed to schedule the messages in this circumstance. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In present world, it is highly observed that there is a steep decline in the agricultural sector of India. This decline is mainly due to loss of soil fertility and Depletion of ground Water table as a result of excessive use of fertilizers pesticides, drought conditions arised as a result of failure of monsoon and unavailability of agricultural lands due to increased population and demand for food. To overcome these conditions a new form of cultivation technique called hydroponics can be used. The way toward developing plants in water without soil is alluded to as aquaculture. Required plant sustenance is given by water and supplement arrangements. The principle maxim of this paper is to develop various harvests whose ideal qualities are put away in cloud, if any of the boundaries goes sudden or low it is constrained by node mcu which is interfaced with IOT. The need of IOT is to send the recovered information to the web (mass stockpiling) and PC is accustomed to imparting the current status to the client through web with the goal that checking and support will get simpler. Asset the board in a tank-farming hardware would turn out to be not so much convoluted but rather more productive dependent on the investigation results. © 2021 IEEE.
