A peristaltic continuous mixing conveyor that focuses on the mechanism of the intestine has been developed as a technology for the mixing and transport of a solid-liquid mixture and high viscosity fluids. The developed peristaltic continuous mixing conveyor succeeded in the mixing and transport of such mixtures in a previous study. A simple cyclic pattern is currently used as the movement pattern of the system, and the control method can be further improved. In this study, we aim to realize an intelligent mixing and generation of a conveyor pattern based on intestinal movement. The mixing state of content during activation was estimated through machine learning. The results from the time-series measurement data show that an internal mixing state in three units of the peristaltic continuous mixing conveyor was estimated.

Social learning, which can include complex or simple social mechanisms, allow us to understand cooperation and communication in animals, giving them better chances to survive for longer and thrive as a society. In order to translate this understanding into socially rich behavior among multi-agent robots, this study utilizes social learning mechanisms that are simple yet quite effective. Small and simple swarm robots are utilized to understand how such social mechanisms might play a role in establishing rules for emergent group behavior and how social rules might be engineered to gain useful effects in a group of robots. The study investigates exploratory behavior without interaction (asocial) and with interaction (social) among a group of robots. The results from this exploratory study suggest that deterministic asocial exploration is best performed by Spiral exploration mechanisms. However, these asocial exploration strategies are eclipsed by certain types of social reward sharing strategies as long as sharing occurs for at least half the lifetime of the robots. Sharing locations of reward caches for all time is of course the most optimal, but comes at the cost of communicating longer and hence using more energy both on the sender and receiver's end. An analysis of a compromise strategy between completely asocial exploration and social reward location sharing is performed using strategies termed critical and conditional learning. It is found that the number of reward caches located through critical and conditional learning are intermediary to the two extremes, namely completely asocial and completely social foraging.

Potential function based methods play significant role in both global and local path planning. While these methods are characterized with good reactive behaviour and implementation simplicity, they suffer from a well-known problem of getting stuck in local minima of a navigation function. In this paper we propose a modification of our original spline-based path planning algorithm for a mobile robot navigation, which succeeds to solve local minima problem and considers additional criteria of start and target points visibility to help optimizing the path selection. We apply a Voronoi graph based path as an input for iterative multi criteria optimization algorithm and present a path finding strategy within different homotopies that uses the new method. The algorithm was implemented in Matlab environment and demonstrated significantly better results than the original approach. The comparison was based on success rate, number of iterations and running time of the algorithms. In total, several thousands tests were performed in 18 different simulated environments.

This research evaluates the MDA levels, number and apoptosis of spermatogenic cells in Rat provided with duwet fruit extract and exposed to cigarette smoke towards. The study involved 4 experimental animal groups and 6 replications, where K0 was the negative control group, K1 was exposed the cigarette smoke, K2 was given orally duwet fruit, and K3 was given orally duwet fruit after being exposed to cigarette smoke. Therefore, data obtained were analyzed using One way Anova test. The results showed significantly lower number of spermatocytes and MDA levels in the testes in all groups compared to K1 at p 0.05. In addition, apoptosis was expressed by Caspase 3 in the testes. The highest MDA levels found in K1. This phenomenon was assumed to have resulted in lower numbers of spermatocytes. These decreased number of spermatocytes were related with the decline in number of spermatogenic cells prone to apoptosis. In conclusion, duwet fruit had the ability to reduce free radicals with the tendency to inhibit spermatogenesis. This case features an increase in spermatocytes and a potential decline in the incidence of spermatogenic cell apoptosis. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study aimed at determining the learning outcomes of students who use digital books based on the kvisoft flipbook maker compared to the students without using digital books based on kvisoft flipbooks. It is because students learning outcomes were low so we use digital books based on kvisoft flipbook maker. This type of research was a quasi-experimental design with Post-test-Only control Group Design. The data collection method used was the description test method to measure student learning outcomes. The learning outcome data were then analyzed using one-way ANOVA with prerequisite tests, namely the normality test and the homogeneity test. The results showed that there were several differences in the learning outcomes of students who used kvisoft flipbook-based digital books and students without using kvisoft flipbook-based digital books. The results of the analysis showed with a significance of 0.000. If the significance level is set = 0.05, and the significance value is smaller than so that F is significant. This means that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, which states that there are differences in learning outcomes between students who took lessons using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker based digital books compared to the students who took lessons without using Kvisoft Flipbook Maker based digital books. The mean of experiment group was 84.56 and mean of control group was 70.32. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The paper introduces an approach to generate control strategies for cable handling tasks automatically, using Reinforcement Learning. Cable handling tasks require human like sensomotoric and cognitive abilities. Humans develop an understanding of the cable behaviour and are able to derive control strategies, how to handle the cable. Transferring these strategies to an industrial robot control system with the usual programming interface is very difficult. The introduced approach addresses this problem by giving the robot control the possibility to learn the cable handling strategies by itself. Therefore an Virtual Commissioning simulation environment was adapted to model Reinforcement Learning problems using the OpenAI Gym and Functional Mock-Up Interface standard.

The problem of modeling scale-free networks is considered. Mediation-driven attachment rule with nonconstant number of added links is proposed. Applying the copy-factor as the control parameter instead of traditionally used number of incoming links makes it possible to generate networks model, which combines the key benefits of mediation- driven attachment, such as indirect using the nodes degree, and elasticity, such as different relative growth rates for links and nodes. The properties of proposed networks model were studied analytically and confirmed by simulation results. © 2020 IEEE.

The service robots as a fast-growing industry in today's society, have gained the attention of all the countries. The research of service robots has gradually shifted from functional to perceptual. During the human robot interaction, in addition to the voice interaction, movements are also an important factor in expressing information and conveying emotions. Through observation, this study collected the actions from three industry fields which have a total of 22 experts and staffs, and also analyzed and classified these movements. Finally, it established the robotic actions of animation for testing and using the three kinds of vocabulary of the robot personality traits (F1. "active factor", F2. "helpful factor", F3. "dominant interaction factor") as the evaluation criteria of perception, explored the user cognition to the different personality traits of robots. The results show that the robot movements have the greatest impact on the first type of F1 inverted right perpendicularactive factorinverted left perpendicular, while the industry category only affects the third type of F3 inverted right perpendiculardominant interaction factorinverted left perpendicular. In the case of different industry categories, the impact of F1 inverted right perpendicularactive factorinverted left perpendicular is also different. For overall preference, every action will increase users' preference. However, in terms of acceptance, "actions with information transfer functions" can increase users' acceptance, but "auxiliary Action" will not improve them. The results of this study can propose action design guidelines for personalized service robots for different industries.

Supernumerary Robotic Limbs (SRL) can expand the physical capabilities of humans in various tasks and working environments. To increase the operation efficiency of SRL, it is critical to acquire task and environmental information, which limits the controller. Previous research has proved that the gaze signal plays a vital role in human-robot shared manipulation. Therefore, this paper proposes a gaze information based controlling system for SRL. This system consists of the following modules: gaze information acquisition module for capturing gaze and environmental information, spacial transform module for transforming the position of gaze target to SRL working space, and SRL execution module for sending commands to SRL. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system could control SRL based on the human gaze. The total mean absolute error between gaze position and actual execution position is limited to an average of 26 mm/m (2.6%). These results indicate that eye-gaze can be used to control SRL, which is beneficial for promoting the controlling efficiency of SRL and expanding application possibilities of SRL.
