In this paper, the modelling of aero derivative gas turbine engine with six inputs and five outputs using two types of neural network is presented. Siemens three-spool dry low emission aero derivative gas turbine engine used for power generation (SGT-A65) was used as a case study in this paper. Data sets for training and validation were collected from a high fidelity transient simulation program. These data sets represent the engines operation above its idle status. Different neural network configurations were developed by using of a comprehensive computer code, which changes the neural networks parameters, namely, the number of neurons, the activation function and the training algorithm. Next, a comparative study was done among different neural models to find the most appropriate neural network structure in terms of computation time of neural network training operation and accuracy. The results show that on one hand, the dynamic neural network has a higher capability than the static neural network in representation of the engine dynamics. On the other hand however, it requires a much longer training time.

In this research paper, customizable wearable robust 3D printed bionic arm been designed and implemented for a right arm. An experimental test has been conducted for a person who has been born without a right arm. A control of a 9 DOF hand is accomplished successfully using EMG signals acquired by MYO armband. Different gestures are recognized and mapped to control different movements of the hand. Basic daily activities have been accomplished after training of that person. The arm is a lightweight for daily use for long time. The cost of the arm is cheap compared to available solutions available on the market.

This work aims to present a modeling procedure, manufacturing process, electronic design, programming and communication system of a cyclist robot. The robot rider has the ability to ride a bicycle independently by making decisions on shifts in balance that may occur during its motion by correcting its direction, balance adjust, and stop. Robot decision-making processes were embedded in a shared control system of interactions with the external environment by commands sent through wired serial link or radio frequency(RF), allowing arm and leg- movements. This was achieved using a dual board synchronization powered by Atmel micro-controllers (Arduino) and fed by information from an electronic gyroscope sensor, an accelerometer, and remote radio frequency (RF) receptor. The final prototype was able to pedal from inertia accelerating gradually to its full speed, stop the movement, and move its arms to recover balance.

Modern days are not so comfortable for the elderly people compare to young people, because naturally they are passing a lonely day for a longer period of time. Elderly and physically weak people would like to lead an independent and quality life in their everyday lonely period, and some physical or mental support may help to improve their lifestyle. Today young people cannot give proper attention to them for their own engagements and that has a massive impact to the healthcare of the elderly people. Healthcare is considered as an important issue all over the world, and developed countries always try to ensure better healthcare support to the civilians in different ways, whereas South Asian developing countries do not pay much attention to this aspect. There exist some multi-purpose robots, which are developed to assist elderly people, but the cost is significantly higher that people from developing countries cannot afford this. From this perspective, to support their healthcare, we are thinking of similar kind of low cost solution. This paper deals with the development of a mini healthcare bot which is able to assist the elderly people to take medicines as per to their schedule. This bot was initially built only for research purpose and now we can consider it as full functioning robot.

In Field of agriculture, the cultural manual inspection remains as a slow and tedious work along with the high error factor, in order to overcome this problem, this research work illustrates the different techniques used to initiate automated robots to perform the agricultural task. Intelligent system is required for cultivation, and harvesting of crops, which can identify the crops according to its features, margin, and colour. As the need of agriculture is automation, Information technology and robotics for harvesting. This paper is the study of various technologies of robotics for cultivation. This paper shows how different robots work in the field of agriculture for capturing the fruits, cultivation of cotton, identification of weed and crops etc. by using the Machine learning, Convolutional Neural network(CNN), and multilayer preceptor. Further the study shows that the fruit detection was done by trained algorithm of image processing with extraction of only the required features. The colour, shape, margin, texture was provided as the input test *** main goal of this paper is to develop an automated fruit recognition and picker system using the laser sensor and machine vision that remains similar to that of human picker. In the field of agriculture, the cultural manual inspection remains as a slow and tedious work along with high error factor. To overcome this problem this paper shows the different techniques used to make the automated robots to perform the agricultural task. The intelligent system is required for cultivation, and harvesting of crops in order to identify the crops according to its features, margin, and colour. © 2019 IEEE.

Retinex enhancement is an extremely powerful algorithm in the domain of image/video enhancement due to its ability to deliver effective enhancement It differs from the regular enhancement under very bad illumination, as well as, bad weather conditions. However, its algorithmic complexity is very high, therefore, it cannot be used for real-time enhancement. This paper presents the work done on accelerating performance of the Retinex algorithms, SSR and MSR, using multithreading software optimization and hardware optimization, on the embedded platforms- UDOO x86 Ultra and Nvidia Jetson Tegra K1 and also the integration of these boards with a mobile robot, for tracking in cluttered environment, where the velocity control of the robot is achieved using MPC.

This paper introduces new strategy for motion control of two spinning magnetic agents based on the magnetic-fluidic interactions. The approach relies on balance between magnetic attraction and hydrodynamic repulsion forces created by fluidic vortices around pairs of microagents, which allows the control on inter-agent pair heading and spacing. The proposed method only requires a single global input, i.e., frequency of the rotating magnetic field along with a small magnetic field gradient, to control the motion of two microagents and therefore is simple to implement. Detailed finite element analysis is performed to explore the system behaviour. Finally, as experimental demonstration, two microagents are maneuvered by a global magnetic field to be independently positioned in the plane of motion with average root mean square errors of 140 micrometers and 5.68 degrees in separation and pair heading angle states, respectively.

Growing interest exists in the evaluation of mobile robots performing autonomous navigation. The environment where the robot operates plays an important role in the successful execution of its autonomous mission. It is therefore crucial to assess the complexity of the environment where the vehicle is deployed. In this paper, we identify two parameters which represent meaningful metrics for the evaluation of how challenging a 2D environment is for autonomous navigation. We show how these two parameters can be estimated with a CNN architecture, given as input only a map of the environment. The method is validated on two different datasets and proves successful in achieving very accurate prediction results.

Recent advances in the field of neurorobotics are surveyed with emphasis on the areas of brain-computer interface systems, brain-based robots and the human brain project. A simple proof-of-concept experiment, inspired by the mapping of the human brain into a robot, is described and constructed. The capturing of brain electroencephalogram signals was performed through an Emotiv Epoc headset. The resulting brain-computer interface was set-up to control a surrogate NAO humanoid robot, while feeding sensory data back to the subject. The various applications of this emerging technology is discussed while emphasising its research and pedagogical value.
