This keynote speech is to all intents and purposes introducing a new process mining approach and its implemented system, which are named as eXplainable process mining (XPM) approach and system, respectively. Through the XPM approach, we can selectively amalgamate a group of process event log traces, and through the XPM system, we can ultimately discover a series of complete and safe process models from a process enactment event log dataset. The XPM approach is theoretically based on the typical process modeling methodology of structured information control nets (abbreviated as SICN) and its algorithmic functionality is substantiated by the explainable ρ-Algorithm that is extended from the original ρ-Algorithm [6]. This keynote speech is also explicating the proven process mining algorithm that is able to discover the underlying SICN-oriented process model from a dataset of process enactment event logs and histories. More specifically, the concrete goal of this keynote speech is about an explainable way of discovering the complete structural formation of SICN-oriented process model. Assume that the structural formation is made up of an arbitrary number of combinational building blocks of the primitive process patterns such as linear (sequential), disjunctive (exclusive-OR), conjunctive (parallel-AND), and repetitive (iterative-LOOP) process patterns. Conclusively, it would be emphasized that the XPM approach and system ought to be very effective and well-fitted for managing life-cycles of very large-scale process models deployed in process-aware enterprises and organizations. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

In the engineering system of human-machine physical intelligence requirements, the multi-source and high complexity of data pose significant security risks. Therefore, this article designs a comprehensive data security protection system. Firstly, this article chooses a dynamic encryption strategy based on role-based access control. Then, this article combines differential privacy algorithm to construct a privacy protection model to ensure the privacy of data during sharing and processing. Subsequently, this article proposes a trusted data transmission protocol. Finally, this article introduces federated learning techniques to further improve the security and robustness of data in distributed scenarios. The experimental results show that the system performs well in terms of data security, privacy protection, and processing efficiency. Especially under high-intensity attacks, the system successfully detected and prevented approximately 98% of tampering. In the above data conclusions, the research method has significant advantages in encryption performance, achieving a better balance between privacy protection and data accuracy, demonstrating strong application prospects. © 2025 IEEE.

There has been a rapid growth of technology in parallel with the massive growth in population since the past few decades. Higher education plays a significant role in driving growing performance and competitiveness in the national and international economies in line with such growth. The graduating students from majority of the higher education institutes often possess skillsets which stand insufficient to meet the needs of the industry propelling use of additional resources to achieve industry readiness and enabling them to work on real-time projects. The present study emphasizes on the need for value-added courses to bridge such industry–academia gap. The study is conducted on engineering students and hence the role of value-added courses on Industry 4.0 and related technologies in abridging the gap is explored. At the outset, a need analysis survey is conducted on engineering undergraduate students in order to validate their understanding of the existence of industry–academia gap, the need for short-term value-added course and also specifically the need for Industry 4.0-based courses toward abridging the gap and its role in contributing toward industry readiness. Considering the results of the need analysis survey and also uniqueness of strength and weakness of each student, an Industry 4.0-based curriculum is developed in coordination with academicians and industry experts. Further, a QAA training was provided to the academic experts which enabled the contributors to adopt non-traditional patterns in the design delivery and assessment of the course. Considering the input of the academic and industry experts the value-added course was designed and developed and further approved by the boards of studies members who also belonged to both the verticals. Aiming at the poor detail of the interference fringes in the phase interferogram of the Block-matching and three-dimensional (BM3D) filtering algorithm, it is difficult to deal with the false edge problem caused by the ringing effect. This study proposed an improved BM3D algorithm for the phase interferogram. The algorithm performs similar block search on the phase image, introduces cosine dissimilarity as the similarity measure, then converts the phase image to complex domain for filtering, and finally introduces a Kaiser window in the aggregation process, which further maintains the denoising ability while improving the texture details and phase information of the interference fringes are obtained. © 2022 IEEE.

In the field of action recognition, it is crucial to capture the temporal evolution of video content compactly and effectively. One of the solutions is the rank pooling method that enables acquiring the evolution of video content. To further enhance temporal discrimination of the rank pooling, we proposed two improved rank pooling strategies, named the Minimum Volume Enclosing Ellipsoids (MVEE) and the Temporal Minimum Volume Enclosing Ellipsoids (TMVEE). The proposed methods are compatible with rank pooling and characterize the data distribution in other orthogonal directions to improve the temporal discrimination. We performed experiments on the ChaLearn gesture recognition and HMDB51 database, the results reveal that our proposed methods outperform other mainstreaming methos. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to recognize the daily behaviors of cattle in an open environment, the daily behaviors of cattle were classified based on the image features in the dynamic region. Firstly, the target detection model was used to locate the cattle feature parts in the dynamic region of the image, and the image features in the dynamic region were extracted according to the label information of the feature parts, then, the deep neural network was used to classify the image features. Finally, the results show that in the open environment, the accuracy of the model in predicting the feeding, lying and standing behaviors of cattle was 84%. © 2022 IEEE.

Network traffic classification plays an important role in network management. In order to improve classification accuracy of encrypted traffic, a method of encrypted network traffic classification based on subspace triple attention mechanism module is proposed. In this method, the network traffic data feature map is divided into several subspaces along the channel dimension. In each subspace, the one-dimensional feature coding calculation is carried out for the three channel branches respectively. ISCX public datasets, which including general and protocol encrypted network traffic data, is used for classification experiments. The results show that the proposed method can achieve better classification accuracy than other current methods on encrypted traffic datasets. © 2022 IEEE.

Video super resolution technology refers to the reconstruction of low resolution video into high resolution frames. In recent years, the application of deep learning to super-resolution technology has attracted extensive attention. However, the reconstruction effect of the existing model still has some problems such as double shadow, structural loss, and the solutions of problems are relatively rare. In this paper, we propose a new idea to use gradient extraction branches to guide the reconstruction of high resolution frames in backbone networks. The loss function is improved by combining gradient loss with pixel loss to improve convergence ability. Multi-scale convolution is introduced into the alignment module to enlarge the receptive field and improve the performance of the model to extract large motion features. Experimental results show that the model has good performance on REDS4 and Vid4 data sets. © 2022 IEEE.
