This article proposes a machine learning (ML) based energy management strategy (EMS) optimization method for a hybrid emergency power supply system (HEPSS) of more electric aircraft (MEA). This HEPSS contains a fuel cell (FC) and a supercapacitor (SC). The proposed EMS can calculate the optimal current distribution of the FC and SC at the next processing time under the current operation of the power supply system, so as to prolong the cycle life of the system and increase the average efficiency of the system. The membership function in the fuzzy logic controller of EMS is optimized by ML to obtain the best control effect. Similarly, the optimization module with large amount of calculation is improved through ML to improve the EMS control speed. In this paper, the performance of the EMS before and after optimization is compared, the simulation results show that the proposed method has better dynamic performance. © 2022 IEEE.

Road accidents are a primary global concern for public safety, with India having a very high death toll. This study presents an intelligent machine learning approach to predict the severity of road accidents, contributing to the development of more effective and preventive measures. We utilized a comprehensive dataset of road accidents in India, employing advanced machine learning algorithms, including Histogram-based Gradient Boosting (HGB), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector machines (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN). Our methodology involved extensive data pre-processing, feature engineering, and model optimization. The Random Forest algorithm demonstrated superior performance, achieving an accuracy of 94.7% and an F1-score of 0.947. This research provides a robust predictive model and information on the key factors influencing the accident's severity. The novelty of our approach lies in the comprehensive feature engineering tailored to the Indian context and the application of ensemble learning techniques to capture complex, nonlinear relationships in accident data. The findings of this study have significant implications for policymakers, urban planners, and law enforcement agencies in their efforts to improve road safety. © 2025 IEEE.

To help investors make an optimal daily trading plan, this paper uses machine learning to predict returns and solve the portfolio model after processing the given data. Firstly, this paper establishes an asset portfolio model based on neural networks and multi-objective planning, combining the two methods with different principles for asset portfolio prediction. Combining Markowitz's mean-variance model based on the multi-objective portfolio model, incorporating risk factors and optimism factors into consideration, the Genetic Algorithm provides the trading strategy. By comparing the model output returns with the actual returns, our 5-year prediction error rate is 9% with a high accuracy rate, and the annualized return rate reaches 39%. Secondly, this paper evaluates and builds a trading strategy model from the perspectives of risk and return. The BWM method is used to solve the weight problem in multi-dimensional decision-making. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper provides a brief introduction and proposal to a new concept that addresses expected future issues in the dynamic digital supply chain organization. Industry 4.0 is a vanguard for massive automation of production. However, researches are focused on questions of internal coordination, collaboration, and optimization. At the same time, the future outlook indicates that additional significant added value is in the application of these externally between partners within a supply chain. The introduced concept is based on the currently finishing research with a goal to introduce a new universal Industry 4.0 maturity model from small- and middle-sized manufacturing companies. This research reused best practices from significant existing Industry 4.0 maturity models but solved identified gaps simultaneously. In addition, additional studies and research were conducted to fill these gaps. On the other hand, the side effect of these steps was a shift in the final focus of the new Industry 4.0 maturity model from a technical to a business perspective. As a result, this new Industry 4.0 maturity model understands Industry 4.0 as a transformation towards a digital learning organization. Regarding this shift and observations on the side of real manufacturing companies, there is a prediction of future issues related to enabling cooperation within a supply chain between partners that is one of the main components of the learning organization paradigm. The introduced concept addresses these future issues with integration and automation between independent organizations and provides possible solutions. This paper also mentions a prototype under development that evaluates the feasibility of this concept. Current tests are performed in laboratory conditions, but there are also described plans for tests under conditions in semi-real situations and planned next stages of the development with the utilization of AI and ML. This research was conducted on microstructural images of four different metals such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and copper. The research aims to classify the microstructure images of the four metals obtained using light-optical microscope using texture features and machine learning techniques. The images were subjected to different steps like image pre-processing, texture feature extraction and classification. Classical machine learning algorithms like Support Vector machines, Naïve Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and XGBoost were used. Experimental results show that the XGBoost classifier achieves the highest classification accuracy of 98% using normalized texture features and cross validation using 10-folds. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

application of Bayesian Knowledge Tracing (BKT) has primarily occurred in formal learning settings. This paper presents an integration of BKT in an informal learning context to assess the structure and skill level of learner scientific observations. We compare different approaches to text classification in a Minecraft science simulation. Our models were trained on data collected from two separate middle schools with students of different backgrounds. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of several machine learning models to automatically label observations.

Quantum embedding learning is an important step in the application of quantum machine learning to classical data. In this paper we propose a quantum few-shot embedding learning paradigm, which learns embeddings useful for training downstream quantum machine learning tasks. Crucially, we identify the circuit bypass problem in hybrid neural networks, where learned classical parameters are optimized to represent the dataset without the quantum kernel. We observe that the few-shot learning embeddings generalize to unseen classes, and suffer less from the circuit bypass problem in terms of better occupation of the parameter space compared with embeddings learned from regression and classification.
