Depending on the game theory and the hypothesis that the insured's auditing efforts could be measured, the paper analyses the problem that the insured often exaggerate the loss state to extract more compensation in the insurance market, and leads to the optimal insurance contract model and the optimal solution. Because of the auditing cost, the insurer's optimal auditing strategy is the no-effort-auditing strategy, not the effort-auditing strategy. The insured's expected marginal utility with respect to final wealth is the same in the accident state as in the no accident state. Moreover, the paper concludes the conclusion that the insured deserve overcompensation in the high-loss state and undercompensation in the low-loss state, which is contrary to the common insurance contracts as we can see in the insurance market.

Although the lost profit from lost business is quite difficult to estimate for the queuing systems with cyclic demands, my previous work presents a creative and effective approach to formulate waiting cost as balking loss. Using the estimation of waiting cost allows decision maker to have the capability of determining the optimal number of servers for each planning period by minimizing total cost including service cost and waiting cost. However, some queuing systems may not be able to increase the number of servers. When facing this capacity constraint problem, this paper presents an approach to formulate the balking index as pi x theta where pi is the discount rate and theta is the balking index of the restaurant before using discount strategy. With this formulation, managers have the capability of determining the optimal pricing strategy by maximizing the total profit.

This paper examines the development of a speaker identification system (SIS) for future aeronautical communication systems. SIS promises to improve flight safety by reducing the incidence of call-sign confusion events. However, the practical development of such a system faces many challenges, especially related to the signal corruption by the channel noise. Due to the dynamic motion of aircraft, the aeronautical channel experiences high Doppler shifts and fading due to multipath propagation. This means that the SIS is required to be robust against such perturbations. In the proposed system, aeronautical channel noise was generated and mixed with speech signals to get the testing data. Four spectral features including Linear Predictive Cepstral Coefficients (LPCC), Perceptual Linear Prediction (PLP), Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) and Gammatone Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (GFCC) were extracted and then Support Vector Machines (SVM) were used for classification. The performance of the system was evaluated using noiseless and noisy signals from the ATCOSIM speech corpus. The experimental results show that the better recognition rate is obtained for GFCC under noisy conditions as compared to PLP, LPCC and MFCC.

In this paper, we propose an enhancement partition method that incorporates formal partition, fitting system constraints and hardware orient partition algorithm to solve partitioning issue for embedded multiprocessor FPGA systems. With formal partition, we can rapidly obtain a set of partitioning results that satisfy the system constraints on the number of processors. To fit various system constraints, we find out all partition result sets by fitting system constraints. Finally, hardware orient partition can provide a nearly best partition result for designer to develop multiprocessors syslem-on-a-chip system. Experiment results show that the proposed method can obtain the fitting best partitioning result than other partitioning method using JPEG encoding system example.

The resource constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) is extended to flexible resource constrained project scheduling problem (FRCPSP) in this paper. Resources are assumed to have certain capabilities demanded by project activities, but not necessarily all of them. Resource capability matrix (RCM) is proposed to represent flexible resources. A multi-agent system composed of resource agent, activity agent, and service agent is put forward as an information infrastructure to support flexible resource constrained project management in a highly distributed environment. The definitions of component agents and the strategies of flexible resource allocation are discussed.
