The similar character of input video image can be generated by combining each components points after extracting the position of each component points using the ratio of face. By selecting the face area, in case of the upper half image, the neck and stained hair become change and accuracy of recognition of selected area becomes low, so in order to compensate the area of inaccuracy, we can find the shape of face, eyes and mouth applying the golden ratio and the character is reflected in the results. Using color informations of the image of the face, the TSL color can be analysed and shown the face recognition ratio of 1.7%. The components in each five input images (left and right eyes, eyebrows and mouth) by selecting the test results showed the performance of 88.3%. By analyzing the characteristics of the elements found in those features automatically generate the appropriate characters, and the rabbit character can be automatically generated from the animation story of 'Rabbit and Tortoise' made by flash tool. Using the TSL color model, the face shape and the eyes, eyebrow, nose, mouth, and ears are visualised in a 2D. In the digital cultural content, the character is automatically generated by video input image and oneself can be staged as a hero in the animation which is the development of a new digital cultural contents. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.

Catheter ablation is widely accepted as the best remaining option for the treatment of atrial fibrillation if drug therapy fails. Ablation procedures can be guided by 3-D overlay images projected onto live fluoroscopic X-ray images. These overlay images are generated from either MR, CT or C-Arm CT volumes. As the alignment of the overlay is often compromised by cardiac and respiratory motion, motion compensation methods are desirable. The most recent and promising approaches use either a catheter in the coronary sinus vein, or a circumferential mapping catheter placed at the ostium of one of the pulmonary veins. As both methods suffer from different problems, we propose a novel method to achieve motion compensation for fluoroscopy guided cardiac ablation procedures. Our new method localizes the coronary sinus catheter. Based on this information, we estimate the position of the circumferential mapping catheter. As the mapping catheter is placed at the site of ablation, it provides a good surrogate for respiratory and cardiac motion. To correlate the motion of both catheters, our method includes a training phase in which both catheters are tracked together. The training information is then used to estimate the cardiac and respiratory motion of the left atrium by observing the coronary sinus catheter only. The approach yields an average 2-D estimation error of 1.99 ± 1.20 mm. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

As a new service-oriented manufacturing paradigm, cloud manufacturing (CMfg) was proposed to realize the added-value and on-demand use of manufacturing resource and ability. Compared with cloud computing, the complexity of CMfg cooperation was analyzed. Supply and demand network of enterprises with multifunction and opening characteristics (SDN) was introduced as a new paradigm of manufacturing cooperation. Dynamic, diversity, fully open and inclusive cooperation are the key concept of SDN. The CMfg cooperation based on SDN was analyzed, from three-dimension of lever, function and space. A model of cooperation-oriented CMfg was built. Resource-oriented, service-oriented and innovation-oriented cooperation were proposed to prompt the implementation and the platform building of CMfg, from the business cooperation perspective.

An investigation into the extraction of useful information from the free text element of questionnaires, using a semi-automated summarisation extraction technique to generate text summarisation classifiers, is described. A realisation of the proposed technique, SARSET (Semi-Automated Rule Summarisation Extraction Tool), is presented and evaluated using real questionnaire data. The results of this approach are compared against the results obtained using two alternative techniques to build text summarisation classifiers. The first of these uses standard rule-based classifier generators, and the second is founded on the concept of building classifiers using secondary data. The results demonstrate that the proposed semi-automated approach outperforms the other two approaches considered. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

The visual detection of aneurysms in 3D angiographic datasets is very time-consuming and error-prone. Depending on the individual experience, up to 40% of all aneurysms are missed in the diagnostic routine. The aim of this work is to present a computer-aided method for the automatic detection of aneurysm candidates in 3D MRA datasets. In this approach, the cerebrovascular system is automatically segmented in a first step and used for identification of vessel endpoints, which are used as an initial aneurysm candidate sample. In a following step, a number of morphological and structural parameters are calculated for each candidate. Finally, a support vector machine (SVM) is applied for reducing the number of aneurysm candidates based on the extracted parameters. The proposed method was evaluated based on 20 Time-of-Flight MRA datasets of patients with an aneurysm using linear as well as radial basis function kernels for SVM training. Leave-one-out cross validation revealed that the linear kernel SVM leads to better results, achieving a sensitivity of 100% and a concurrent false-positive rate of 3.86. In conclusion, the proposed method may help to improve and speed-up the aneurysm screening in clinical practice. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

This paper is attempting in terms of a formal statistical language model to review the overall domination of Arabic morphology as a non-linear or non-concatenated processing system in the case of word identification. The basic components of this model are relying on bi-directional probabilistic root-pattern relationships acting as cognitive morphological factors for word recognition. Considering a root in the mental lexicon as the highest level of semantic abstraction for a morpheme allows the view of considering words as a functional or applicative process instantiating the most probable or known pattern to the most plausible root. As Arabic is known for its highly inflectional morphological structure and its high tendency to pattern and root ambiguity (Root-Homonymy and pattern Polysemy) this model is assuming bi-directional morphological background knowledge for resolving ambiguities in form of probabilistic semantic network. As a major consequence, this paper is stressing the significance of this phenomenon in designing Arabic interactive cognitive systems particularly those related to interactive Arabic natural language understanding and word recognition and corrections.

Measuring inter-document similarity is one of the most essential steps in text document clustering. Traditional methods rely on representing text documents using the simple Bag-of-Words (BOW) model. A document is an organized structure consisting of various text segments or passages. Such single term analysis of the text treats whole document as a single semantic unit and thus, ignores other semantic units like sentences, passages etc. In this paper, we attempt to take advantage of underlying subtopic structure of text documents and investigate whether clustering of text documents can be improved if text segments of two documents are utilized, while calculating similarity between them. We concentrate on examining effects of combining suggested inter-document similarities (based on inter-passage similarities) with traditional inter-document similarities following a simple approach for the same. Experimental results on standard data sets suggest improvement in clustering of text documents. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

The natural language processing module is an important implementation form of intelligent human-machine interaction. The NLP engine requires an efficient grammar description to convert sentences into semantic models. Automated grammar induction is the area to discover rules in the sentences of a given language. An important phase of grammar induction is the pattern distillation phase. The paper presents a survey of pattern distillation methods for generation of context free grammars. The paper proposes a link-based pattern distillation method as a good alternative of the most widely used MEX algorithm. Beside the methodological analysis, test results are also presented to compare the efficiency of the main pattern distillation algorithms.

The quality of extracted features is the key issue to text mining due to the large number of terms, phrases, and noise. Most existing text mining methods are based on term-based approaches which extract terms from a training set for describing relevant information. However, the quality of the extracted terms in text documents may be not high because of lot of noise in text. For many years, some researchers make use of various phrases that have more semantics than single words to improve the relevance, but many experiments do not support the effective use of phrases since they have low frequency of occurrence, and include many redundant and noise phrases. In this paper, we propose a novel pattern discovery approach for text mining. This approach first discovers closed sequential patterns in text documents for identifying the most informative contents of the documents and then utilise the identified contents to extract useful features for text mining. We develop a novel fusion method based on Dempster-Shafer's evidential reasoning which allows to combine the pieces of document to discover the knowledge (features). To evaluate the proposed approach, we adopt the feature extraction method for information filtering (IF). The experimental results conducted on Reuters Corpus Volume 1 and TREC topics confirm that the proposed approach could achieve excellent performance. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
