The rapid recognition of flammable and toxic gases is an essential and challenging task for electronic noses (E-nose) in various fields. The traditional recognition method is limited by the limited features of the gas ultra-time response curve, and has the problems of unsatisfactory classification results and long recognition time. We propose a noval gas recognition algorithm that combines the ensemble learning method with kernel-base learning system learning (KBLS), thereby improving the accuracy of gas recognition, with faster recognition time, and a more stable model. We used four volatile combustible gases as gas test datasets and evaluated the algorithm proposed in this study over a range of response curves from 0.5s to 4s. According to our extensive comparative experiments, it is found that the accuracy is higher than that of other algorithms.

In recent years, spiking neural networks (SNNs) have gained significant attention in visual recognition tasks due to the low computational energy. However, most SNNs have a large number of parameters, which limits their use on resource-limited devices. In this paper, we propose an Ensemble Binary Spiking Neural Network (EB-SNN) for accurate and memory-friendly visual recognition. The EB-SNN is modeled by Ensemble Binary Weights (EBW) module, which integrates multiple binary weights for lightweight SNN modeling. Meanwhile, we propose Knowledge Alignment Strategy to ensure that the EB-SNN can approximate a well-trained SNN for good performance. Experimental results show that the EB-SNN can achieve accuracy of 95.39% on CIFAR10, using 9.3% memory of full-precision SNN. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The main reason for coming up with self-driving cars is to enhance the safety of cars on the road by improving and reducing the occurrence of traffic accidents. Self-driving cars rely on advanced systems known as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADASs) that help in perceiving the driving environment despite being on the road. Automobile lane detection is repeatedly considered effective in building up the recognition of the nearest lanes. Is it capable of discerning lane markings and objects on the side of the road or, topologically, it does not have to make a rolling contact? To answer this query, hence we apply road segmentation techniques that involve delineation of objects of interest along the road. In this paper, we compared two models named VGG-19 and UNET by observing their accuracy in detecting road lanes, objects, and cars. We find that the VGG-19 model achieves superior accuracy, about 40% accuracy with 93% precision in detecting complex road structures compared to the UNET model in our 95 images. This research contributes to finding a novel technique for semantic segmentation in the context of autonomous driving. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper involves the development of a web based platform with an integrated machine learning algorithm to address problems pertaining to heart disease and breast cancer. It enables users to select either the heart attack or breast cancer datasets and use machine learning models such as Logistic Regression, K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Support Vector machine (SVM), Random Forest and XG Boost. The website provides basic information about the datasets such as the total number of records in a dataset, number of classes in a dataset, and also allows users to generate graphs for better visualization of the data. The evaluation of the performance of each of the models is based on various metrics such as accuracy, F1 score, precision, recall and mean squared error. This way it is possible to assess the performance of the models in relation to each of the available data sets which makes it easy for users to pick the most effective model. There are also inputs for the users which would be their health indicators like age, sex, level of cholesterol, heart rate among others. Using these values as well as the picked model, the website estimates the possibility of the user developing heart disease or breast cancer. Apart from predicting health risks, there is an emphasis on the evaluation of health risks by different machine learning models and thus assists users in finding the most accurate prediction model regarding their healthcare problems. Overall, the website provides both predictive healthcare insights and a deeper understanding of how various algorithms perform in real-world scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

Scene estimation problem has been examined along with the structural description of differents objects in the scene. The data structure of scenes is established through a tree structure. This uses depths of different objects in the scene. Depth map is computed using Horn's reflectance map and Shah's linearization technique of the reflectance map. The center of mass is considered for the localized rectangle of each object to define the hierarchy of objects present in the scene. The localization of objects is based on least square estimation technique on YOLO output images. The localization method is fully free from any kind of thresholds and is a new concept. Comparison with other methods shows our method is more effective. Finding the structural description is also a new scheme. The nearness of objects at different levels of the hierarchical tree for the scene is based on some weights that help for making active decisions on the positions of objects relative to the camera observer. Finally, some applications shows the merits of the proposed scheme in some details.

The reconstruction of complex degradation of remote sensing images is always a hot issue. In practical application, there are many reasons for complex degradation. In order to solve the complex remote sensing image degradation problem, MAE self-supervised model is introduced to form prior knowledge. Secondly, a new remote sensing image reconstruction network and edge focus module are designed. The edge focus module learns the weight of edge position by calculating and extracting gradient information, so that the reconstructed model can pay attention to the edge information of remote sensing image. Finally, the two-stage training strategy is introduced. Experimental results show that the MAE-ADHRN (MAE +Ours) model proposed in this paper achieves better results than other models based on complex image degradation. At the same time, after the introduction of edge attention module and high-resolution remote sensing image, the edge information is clear. The PSNR and SSIM of MAE+Ours are 3.899 and 3.024 higher than YOLO+Ours and MoCo+Ours, respectively. LPIPS decreased by 0.0513 and 0.0341, respectively. Ablation results show that compared with None-EI and None-Edge attention modules, PSNR and SSIM of edge attention modules are increased by 2.648 and 0.397, respectively, and LPIPS are decreased by 0.0268 and 0.0037, respectively.

Morphological synthesis is a key aspect of natural language processing that focuses on the generation of word forms from their base components - roots, stems, prefixes, affixes, and inflectional morphemes. It plays a crucial role in understanding and generating various grammatical forms of words in different languages. This process is essential for tasks such as machine translation, speech synthesis, text generation, and information retrieval. In agglutinative languages, words are formed by stringing together affixes that each represent a single grammatical function. Each morpheme retains its distinct meaning and function, making synthesis relatively predictable. In this article, using Kyrgyz as an example, we have examined the rules governing the attachment of affixes to words and assessed whether these affixes are correctly attached or if there are issues with morphological synthesis. This is, of course, a very topical issue. Because the first step in the problems of artificial intelligence is to pay attention to the features and ways of language creation. © 2024 IEEE.

Convolutional neural network-related applications have now been developed on a variety of platforms, including CPUs, GPUs, and others, but most of them sacrificed energy consumption to achieve good performance. Therefore, in recent years, more and more hot spots have shifted to how to achieve related applications such as low energy consumption research methods. In order to make the steel surface defect detection system meet the requirements of real-time detection, this article proposes that VGG16 is used as the main network to complete the design of the FPGA's rapid detection and identification system for the FPGA. This system conducts software and hard-hard design based on the ZYNQ-7000 platform (1) The design of parallelization of convolution on the PL side The hardware acceleration is achieved by accelerating the data flow design. Each IP core accelerated with the PL end. (2) In the method of quantifying the data, in the case of almost little loss of data accuracy, the use of resources on FPGA films has been greatly reduced to achieve acceleration of algorithms. The final experimental results show that compared with the CPU, this algorithm has increased by 6 times. The power consumption ratio of the CPU platform and the FPGA platform is 12.6, and the power consumption ratio of the GPU platform and the FPGA platform is 38.2, which is more suitable for applications on the embedded platform. © 2023 SPIE.

The extensive use of social media led people to share emotions and opinions on social sites. Currently, the prediction of the exchange rate with the content of social sites, specifically Twitter, is an active research and challenge. In this study, we have proposed a deep learning model for the prediction of the exchange rate fluctuation with political and financial statements sentiments. In this study, we have considered USD dollar rates in terms of PKR currency rates for experiments as well as collective sentiment technique (positive, negative, and neutral for each day) considered after data preprocessing with natural language processing techniques. The Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN) technique is used in this study for data balancing to avoid the overfitting of the machine and deep learning models. Deep learning based proposed model named 'Deep Financial' is effective with the highest accuracy of 87.54% as compared to Support Vector machine, K-Nearest Neighbor and Logistic Regression, for the prediction of exchange rate fluctuation with political and financial statements sentiments. © 2023 IEEE.
