Additive Manufacturing is becoming a widespread manufacturing system in several industrial fields such as automotive, aerospace, biomedical, etc. Design for Additive Manufacturing represents the branch of research that considers the technological constraints from the early stages of design, arriving at a geometrical model to be exported in G-code. The limitations of additive manufacturing are related to the complexity of the process, the high costs, the processing time, and the difficulties of ensuring adequate geometric and dimensional tolerances. A data-driven approach can be a solution to improve the Design for Additive Manufacturing. Artificial intelligence and machine Learning methods are employed in the literature to shorten the time for assessing the optimal combination of parameters and supporting decision-making. The current state of the art shows three macro-areas to apply machine Learning methods in Design for Additive Manufacturing. These applications concern Geometrical Design Level, Process Configuration Level, and Process Monitoring Level. This paper aims to identify and classify the machine Learning methods and algorithms most used in Design for Additive Manufacturing practices, analyzing parameters, results, processes, and materials involved. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

As blockchain technology research continues to advance, named entity recognition within blockchain patent texts has emerged as a fundamental cornerstone for various other tasks. In light of the absence of a publicly accessible corpus within the current realm of blockchain technology, as well as the challenges posed by insufficient text semantic expression, the dearth of semantic features, and the intricacies associated with capturing diverse word vector representations. This paper us of annotated blockchain patent texts and proposes the MBBC MacBert-BiLSTM-CRF MBBC model for named entity recognition in blockchain patents. The model employs embedding the feature layer to vectorize the input text, enriching text information and mitigating polysemy issues. Text feature information is acquired through the long short-term memory network, and the conditional random field model is integrated to enforce label relationships, yielding an optimal label sequence. In this study, the accuracy rate of BAT (Blockchain Application Technology, BAT) on the self-constructed corpus achieves 91%, with a recall rate of 96% and an Fl value of 93%, representing a notable enhancement compared to mainstream models. Ablation experiments further demonstrate that the model in this paper effectively performs named entity recognition tasks associated with blockchain technology and subject content. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Giving the machine the thinking capability is the most versatile of all human inventions. Artificial intelligence is the most prominent research area in today’s world. Nature inspired Algorithms are other most popular optimization techniques used in various domains. Researchers have implemented several nature inspired techniques using data mining functionalities for wireless sensors, Artificial intelligence, etc. The latest research suggests the use of nature inspired techniques in Artificial intelligence and for the Internet of things. In this paper, research trends for the application of nature inspired techniques in artificial intelligence are analyzed using data from Web of Science and Scopus databases. Data is analyzed globally. Cluster analysis of related keywords is computed along with link strength. Today's machine learning is considered as one of the artificial intelligence technologies used in many ways. Its functions are very accurate, from receiving the given input data to calculating, measuring and outputting it. It is used to calculate a valid result without user intervention. In that order the applications of this machine learning method in digital image processing technology are constantly increasing. This technology is used for everything from overcoming facial identities to calculating the various photo identities of mobile devices currently in use. In this paper a smart machine learning based algorithm has been designed to effectively handle vertex image processing environment and complex image segmentation functions. Its special feature is that it examines the given photos based on its dead pixels and calculates the correct results. There will be no human intervention in this system. The proposed smart algorithm was compared with some existing algorithms. © 2022 IEEE.

In this work, we investigate a unique effective framework for projected design inspections in industrial manufacturing combining machine learning methodologies and edges cloud computing technologies. We recommend a thorough approach that involves targeted data gathering and broadcast, forecasting and supplying appropriate, as well as innovation with the current IT plant infrastructure, in contrary to state-of-the-art contributions. To highlight the steps and advantages of the suggested solution, a genuine business use case in the manufacture of SMT is described. The outcomes demonstrate that the proposed strategy can dramatically reduce inspection volumes, leading to economic gains. A key achievement basis for the drawn-out presentation of assembling ventures is the creation of imperfection-free, top-notch items. Indeed, even with the intricacy and assortment of items and the requirement for savvy production, an exhaustive and dependable quality investigation is habitually required. Along these lines, high examination volumes cause producing bottlenecks in the review processes. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to develop a predictive design for quality assessment regarding employing cloud computing and machine learning. Concerning this particular research, a descriptive research design has been used by depending on secondary data due to its reliability and validity. Moreover, it has been found that both cloud computing and machine learning contribute effectively for employing quality assessment because of their innovative features and infrastructure. © 2023 IEEE.

Wind power has developed rapidly in recent years, and regular inspection of wind turbines can guarantee their normal operation. The use of inspection robots can improve inspection efficiency and reduce risks. The traditional way mainly relies on the manual operation of the UAV to search the wind turbines, which still has the problem of low efficiency. For the object search problem in aerial images, this paper proposes a wind turbine object detection algorithm based on the Inception Network, which uses artificial intelligence to extract wind turbine objects in the images. For the problem of excessive parameters in the baseline algorithm, this paper replaces the original backbone network to reduce the number of parameters. For the problem of overfitting, the paper adopts the strategy of Batch Normalization to improve the generalization ability. After the test using the NAIP dataset, the algorithm achieves the accuracy of 93.10% on the wind turbine object detection task. The results show that the object detection algorithm based on Inception Network can achieve better results and has certain robustness and generalization ability for objects in different environments. © 2024 SPIE.

With the rise of smart city construction, the importance of vehicle re-identification based on video surveillance has become increasingly prominent. The task of vehicle re-identification mainly focuses on recognizing the same vehicle image under different cameras. In this paper, we propose a multi-label fusion framework for vehicle re-identification based on VIT network. We design a method of anti-angle distortion data augmentation to solve the problem that the performance of VIT is limited by the relative position relationship inside the vehicle structure and the angle deviation caused by the different relative positions of camera and vehicle. At the same time, the key position weight information module is inserted into the coding layer to improve the network's attention to key information. Finally, in view of the insufficient use of the location information between patches in the VIT network, we design a location code based on the Minkowski distance metric to add the relative location relationships within the vehicle individuals to the network. The experiment shows that under the same conditions, our vehicle weight recognition system is superior to most of the more advanced work in vehicle-ID and VERI776 datasets compared with the most advanced supervised vehicle weight recognition work. © 2023 SPIE.

2-D fault feature images have advantages as neural network input for fault pattern recognition, but the most deep image recognition algorithms are non-sensitive to the time-series features of images. This paper proposes a new algorithm named MTF-2DWDCNN based on Markov transfer field(MTF) jointly improved deep convolutional neural networks with wide first-layer Kernel(WDCNN). Firstly, the original 2-D sequence signal is converted into a 2-D time series image by MTF, used as the input of the neural network;secondly, the convolution mode of the original WDCNN is improved to adapt to 2-D time series;finally, the accuracy and error experiments are carried out to verify its effectiveness. Experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper has certain advantages over traditional algorithms regarding recognition accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

Rotor stability, which indicates the performance of a rotor keeping the system in good working order without transverse vibration, is one of the important research contents in rotor dynamics area. Actually, in a real working environment, it is difficult to stabilize a rotating machine because violent transverse vibrations often happen due to the influence of air resistance, ground friction, errors in manufacture of the rotor, and other factors. The vibrations not only cause instability of the system, but also greatly limit the increase of the rotational speed. We think that the temporal information of the rotating machine, which records the history of its motion, is useful to help reduce the vibrations and stabilize the rotating machine. A recurrent neural network architecture, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) is employed to capture the complex and changeable temporal information. So, in this research, an intelligent control approach, that is deep reinforcement learning coupled with LSTM capturing temporal information, is proposed to stabilize a rotating machine. Experimental results in simulation platform demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the approach. © 2022 IEEE.
