A multimodal elastic actuator based on the brake and clutch device of worm gear is designed for efficient legged robot locomotion. Several modes of operation can be outputted with the engaging and disengaging of the brake module, including motor drive, series elastic actuation, the energy storage and release. The simulation and performance experiments are applied for the multimodal actuator. The results that the output bandwidth of the system increases gradually with the increase of spring coefficient, and the knee robot leg based on multimodal elastic actuator can realize switchable mode during walking cycle. © 2023 IEEE.

Meta-learning aims to create Artificial intelligence (AI) systems that can adapt to new tasks and improve their performance over time without extensive retraining. The advent of meta-learning paradigms has fundamentally changed how Artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are handled, constantly reshaping these fields. Research study reviews the broad field of meta-learning, highlighting its critical function in bridging the AI-ML divide to improve adaptability. The study starts with a review of past developments, following the development of meta-learning algorithms and their underpinning theories. The historical view lays the groundwork for understanding the course of this dynamic regulation, spanning from early efforts in probabilistic program induction to modern discoveries in model-agnostic meta-learning. The study explores multiple meta-learning applications in AI and ML, revealing how they affect financial forecasting, computer vision, natural language processing, autonomous cars, health informatics, robotics, and personalized recommendation systems. When seen from the perspective of adaptive intelligence, meta-learning may be effectively applied to conditions with limited data, hyperparameter optimization, few-shot learning, and quick adaption in reinforcement learning settings. © 2025 IEEE.

The transfer of information through an underwater medium wirelessly has become a key component in various fields such as oceanography research, oil control and maintenance, pollution monitoring, and various military applications. While traditional communication methods do work well for basic communication purposes, the highly dynamic and turbid nature of water poses certain challenges during communication, such as low data rates, propagation delays, and constrained bandwidth. To address these issues a very promising method Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) technology is used. It transmits information in the form of light signals. Li-Fi has higher data rates, energy efficiency, easy to deploy, and reduces interference. Despite this security challenges remain, and to address this issue blockchain technology is integrated in this paper. Li-fi technology integrated with blockchain technology to enable safe and secure transmission of data. The proposed approach ensuring the secured transmission to the intended recipient and mitigating the risks of the data tampering and unauthorized access. Overall, this approach maximizes the use of underwater communication resources and sets up a user-friendly and secure communication environment. © 2024 IEEE.

Natural social interaction between a human and robot requires perception ability of robot for complex social behaviors and in turn displaying the learnt emotional behavior during interaction. The emotions expressed with body language are one of the key parameters during Human-robot Interaction (HRI). This research focuses on extending the concept of affective non-verbal human-robot interaction using full body gestures for closely resembling emotion in absence of intricate facial expressions. The movements of head, torso, legs, and arms are used to link body movements and gestures of a bi-pedal humanoid robot with 28 closely resembling emotions. Variation of speed, frequency, and joint angles of the robot are the key features used for expressing a specific emotion. This research uses Russell's circumplex model to define 8 primary emotional categories which are further grouped into closely associated emotions resembling each other. 33 participants were involved in experimentation to authenticate different emotions using body gestures of robot. Each participant performed 28 trials in which emotions were displayed at random to recognize the state of robot. The results showed an average accuracy of 79.69%. The study authenticates that perceived emotions are highly dependent on body movements, postures, and selected features. This design model can therefore be used for even conveying the closely resembling emotions. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, the functional and interactive design of the robot is carried out from the design of the cloud-based robot based on Raspberry Pi 4B, and the functional architecture of the cloud-based robot is designed and preliminary functional experiments are carried out, which lays the theoretical and developmental foundation for the subsequent development of the robotics teaching platform. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, there have been significant advancements in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), leading to their integration into everyday life. UAVs are constrained by limited energy, communication, and localization. The various challenges in UAV research include localization, routing, navigation, and task assignment. Recently, UAV swarms have been employed across a wide range of applications. This study focuses on solving task assignment problems within UAV swarms, considering the unique multi-objective resource constraints of UAVs. The work explores the feasibility of adopting the Red Fox Algorithm to address the task assignment problem in UAV swarms. The investigation examines two primary input parameters: Task Energy Demand and distance. The evaluation includes energy utilization and shortest distance as performance metrics. Notably, the proposed approach outperforms the Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm (PSO), resulting in a 17.47% lower energy utilization while maintaining a 17.83% reduction in the shortest distance travelled. By leveraging the Red Fox Algorithm, the work aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of task allocation in UAV swarms, contributing to their broader adoption across various applications. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to improve the load adaptability of quadruped robot in varied topography, a load estimation and adaptive control method of quadruped robot is studied. First, this paper sets up mechanical balance equation to achieve weight estimation of the load, moreover, it builds the desired body action force and torque based on the virtual model control method, integrates the actual force information of the ground to calculate the torque error of body action, obtains the center-of-mass deviation in combination with the load weight, and builds the optimal control strategy of force distribution. Finally, the feasibility of the method is verified experimentally, and the fused estimated center-of-mass and mass information can be used for effective robot position and attitude control. © 2023 IEEE.

Binary multipliers are used in microprocessors, digital signal processors, and various digital systems for efficient computation of binary arithmetic operations. Wallace Tree multiplier is used over others because it can perform high-speed, area-efficient, scalable, and power-efficient multiplication in many digital systems and applications. This paper aims to design an optimized 3x3 Wallace Tree multiplier using switched gate circuits such as transmission gates and Pass transistor logic gates in Cadence Virtuoso 45nm technology. Using switched gates, the logic levels required to perform the summation can be decreased. A comparative analysis has been carried out for the designed Wallace tree multiplier circuits and output results based on the PTL logic are showing better results in terms of area and power compared to the conventional model © 2024 IEEE.
