By the development of Artificial intelligence, many applications of deep learning and computer vision algorithms in object detection on color images were introduced. The obtained results get higher accuracy than other classical methods. However, detecting objects on thermal images has not received much research attention. In this paper, we focus on researching and proposing the use of Faster-RCNN deep learning model in order to detect people on thermal images. The proposed model consists of two phases: Data processing and model applying. The experiments on a thermal image dataset, namely as Deep Thermal Outdoor, are performed to evaluate performance of the proposed model and compare it to YOLO and SSD models. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Adaptive learning represents a wide field of application of artificial intelligence technologies. The aim of this concept is to cover the different profiles of learners in order to minimize disorientation and increase the rate of engagement and motivation among them. The adaptation is not a single task that can be done alone or is only limited to the assimilation phase. To this end, we have implemented an intelligent and coherent adaptive learning model that accompanies the learner throughout their learning process. The proposed model consists of four phases: identification of learning styles, proposal of adaptive learning activities, recommendation of assessment activities and the implementation of an adaptive remediation strategy. Each phase of this model is based on artificial intelligence technology while respecting the pedagogical context. In order to measure the effectiveness of the proposed model, we set up a real experiment with learners.

To understand the research on big data monitoring technology in power systems, a study focusing on power system big data monitoring technology based on digital twins is proposed. This paper begins by introducing the concept, architecture, characteristics, and core technologies of digital twins, followed by a comprehensive analysis of the application system of a digital twin power grid. Additionally, it explores the potential applications of an electric power digital twin. The primary objective of an electric power digital twin is to enhance the effective use of data streams and integrate real-time situational awareness. This approach aims to achieve a thorough understanding of the power system, thereby aiding in regulatory decision-making processes. © 2024 SPIE.

Selecting a sample of 1,284 listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares from 2007 to 2020, the article explores the impact of digital transformation on firm value and further examines the moderating role of economic policy uncertainty in the development process of digital transformation. Digital transformation promotes enterprise value through the transmission of operating cost mechanism and financing constraint mechanism. Therefore, digital transformation should be vigorously promoted, environmental regulation should be improved, and the construction of digital infrastructure and environmental policies should be facilitated to help achieve the ‘dual carbon’ goal. © 2025 The Authors.

In this work, we propose a deep learning approach to classify the health of sugarcane leaves using the transfer learning on MobileNetV2 architecture. This research aims to improve crop disease detection through the exploitation of a pre-trained model on ImageNet tailored to the specific task of classification into diseased or healthy sugarcane leaves. The dataset was split into three sets namely training, validation, and test with data augmentation and caching strategies to improve the model efficiency and performance. We froze some of the layers of the model MobileNetV2. This will allow selective extraction of features while other layers are open and adaptable to the dataset of the sugarcane leaf. After 50 epochs of training, the model performed very well. Loss and accuracy were very low, indicating minimal overfitting on the test set. A final confusion matrix was then derived in order to measure the reliability of the predictions across classes. The approach will thus validate the application efficacy of transfer learning for crop disease detection and its promotion of accurate, scalable classification in crop disease management. © 2025 IEEE.

Oriented to the stable and efficient welding requirements of pressure vessels, a laser welding robot workstation that can realize fast clamping and automatic position change is designed. The workstation consists of Mitsubishi PLC, six-axis industrial robot, ground rail, welding positioner, touch screen, etc. Through the touch screen to detect the information and set the parameters, it is able to realize the multi-station, multi-seam welding processing of the product. The design of the workstation includes the overall layout design, the design of the positioning jigs and fixtures with single and double-axis and the design of the PLC-based intelligent control system. The welding process parameters were optimized by using the uniform design method, and the welding performance test was conducted. The results show that compared with manual welding, this workstation can complete the pressure vessel welding work more efficiently and stably, the weld seam is smooth, the productivity is significantly improved, the welding error rate is as low as 1.5%, and the optimal welding parameters can be found quickly to meet the needs of industrial production. © 2023 IEEE.

The manta ray robot, as a new type of biomimetic underwater vehicle, it is necessary to carry out the research on dynamic target tracking strategy to better adapt to the complex marine environment and fulfill various underwater missions. Aiming at the guidance problem in the dynamic target tracking process of manta ray robot, a tracking guidance strategy of"target chase + hold" is formulated based on the inspiration of fish behavior. Based on the method of guidance law, the tracking strategies of heading and speed in the chase region and hold region are formulated. Based on the motion capture system, a dynamic target tracking control system test platform is built to complete the tracking test of manta ray robot, and the test results show the feasibility and accuracy of the methods and strategies designed in this paper. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). The mine belt conveyor patrol robot system provides a complete unattended patrol solution for the material transportation system. It has the core functions of unmanned patrol inspection of material transportation system, heating detection alarm of material transportation system components, noise identification, belt deviation identification, belt damage identification alarm, etc. The supporting centralized control software of the material transportation system can control the entire conveyor belt patrol robot group. Unprecedented advances in Artificial intelligence and its widespread applications in diverse fields without a sufficient social, ethical, legal, or technological framework to oversee it have sparked concerns about its decisions having ethical and social implications. Identifying and addressing the ethical issues of artificial intelligence has been a topic of great importance to researchers, governments, law enforcement agencies, and corporations, given the growing concerns of individuals, organizations, countries, and society. However, very little progress has been made to address them. These ethical and social issues, such as privacy breaches, bias, discrimination, non-accountability, less transparency, unemployment, promoting inequality, social manipulation, loss of human relationships, and independence, inevitably impact the existing social order and raise ethical concerns. This paper provides an overview and analysis of ethical issues, strategies for dealing with them, and techniques for assessing the ethics associated with artificial intelligence. Additionally, the study underscores the increasing ethical and social ramifications arising from the expanding use of technology in various domains. It also highlights insufficient technical solutions and a fitting framework to tackle these concerns. Ultimately, the paper emphasizes the necessity for thorough research to identify suitable technological solutions to address these ethical challenges. © 2023 IEEE.

The Hive Destruction Protocol (HDP) introduces a cutting-edge automated border defense system that enhances security operations through advanced human recognition using YOLO, precise GPS tracking, and coordinated drone responses. Soldiers are equipped with camera-integrated spectacles that facilitate the rapid identification of enemy targets via visual cues and hand gestures. Upon confirming a target, the system transmits accurate GPS coordinates in real time to autonomous drones, which are deployed to neutralize threats from multiple angles, creating confusion and minimizing detection risk. To ensure reliability and real-time processing in dynamic environments, HDP employs optimized communication protocols for secure data exchange between ground personnel and drones, allowing for seamless coordination among multiple units, each capable of independently engaging identified threats based on shared GPS data. The integration of machine learning algorithms improves the system even more flexible to changing field conditions, improving detection accuracy and robustness under various environmental constraints. Overall, the Hive Destruction Protocol represents a forward-thinking solution for border defense, leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to provide proactive and responsive capabilities in critical security applications. © 2025 IEEE.
