The paper presents a direct torque control (DTC) technique for a nine-phase induction motor (IM). In the given technique, the d-axis of the stator aligned with the stator flux-linkage vector. By aligning the d-axis of the stator with the stator flux-linkage vector, the magnitude of the stator flux-linkage vector becomes equal to the d-axis stator flux component, and the q-axis stator flux component becomes zero. Thus, it makes the electromagnetic torque of the nine-phase IM proportional to the d-axis component of stator flux and the q-axis stator current component. The d-axis flux magnitude can be directly controlled by applying the desired d-axis stator voltage component. The q-axis stator current component can be directly controlled by applying the desired q-axis stator voltage component. The mathematical analysis is presented in the paper for DTC of nine-phase IM by aligning the d-axis with the stator flux-linkage vector. The simulation results of MATLAB/Simulink software environment are also presented in the paper to further justify the DTC of IM. The performance of the nine-phase IM is tested by subjecting the motor to speed change operation on loaded conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

Crop output can be greatly enhanced by using greenhouses, and efficient environmental management techniques are necessary to achieve this goal. The greenhouse environment, being a multifactor, highly linked, nonlinear complex system, is vulnerable to multiple interferences that might affect the overall stability of the control system. controlling greenhouse settings in an accurate, efficient, and intelligent way is still a major challenge. This article examines the three developing stages of greenhouse control to assess the common intelligent control methods used nationally and internationally in greenhouses. It focuses on how three important intelligent control techniques—fuzzy control, decoupling control, and neural network control are now being applied. Moreover, it recommends that multi-variable system control and control model optimization be given top priority in future research on greenhouse intelligent control to offer guidance and assistance for more sophisticated and intelligent greenhouse management in the future. © 2024 SPIE.

This study shows a prototype for detecting lung effects using microwave imaging. Continuous monitoring of pulmonary fluid levels is one of the most successful approaches for detecting fluid in the lung;early Chest X-rays, computational tomography (CT)-scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the most commonly used instruments for fluid detection. Nonetheless, they lack sensitivity to ionizing radiation and are inaccessible to the general public. This research focuses on the development of a low-cost, portable, and noninvasive device for detecting Covid-19 or lung damage. The simulation of the system involved the antenna design, a 3D model of the human lung, the building of a COMSOL model, and image processing to estimate the lung damage percentage. The simulation consisted of three components. The primary element requires mode switching for four array antennas (transmit and receive). In the paper, microwave tomography was used. Using microwave near-field imaging, the second component of the simulation analyses the lung's bioheat and electromagnetic waves as well as examines the image creation under various conditions;many electromagnetic factors seen at the receiving device are investigated. The final phase of the simulation shows the affected area of the lung phantom and the extent of the damage. © 2023 IEEE.

With the vision of 'double carbon', China has begun to vigorously develop a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and build a new power system with new energy as the main body. With the high penetration of photovoltaic power supply into the distribution network, the coordination between traditional risk and protection can no longer meet the technical requirements of the new distribution network relay protection. Therefore, this paper focuses on the three aspects of the non-conventional risk of PV power supply, its analysis method and the distribution network protection scheme adapted to the access of PV power supply. Firstly, the general structure of PV power supply is introduced, and the working principle of inverter and grid-connected control strategy under normal state are analyzed, and then from the perspective of distribution grid, the method of analyzing the extraordinary risk of distribution grid is proposed, and the symmetrical and asymmetrical fault characteristics of distribution grid and the problems when PV power supply is connected to distribution grid are analyzed. In addition, for the method proposed in this paper, the equivalent model of PV power access to the distribution network is used as the basis to study the fault characteristics of PV power access to the distribution network, analyze the impact of PV power access to the existing current protection of the distribution network, and propose to classify the distribution network into three regions according to the location of PV power access, and then put forward the preventive and control strategies respectively. Finally, the feasibility of the protection scheme proposed in this chapter is verified by simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

Interaction exists in multiple grid-forming converter parallel systems, resulting in different transient stability issues between multiple converter systems and single converter under large disturbances. During the current limiting period, the external characteristics of the grid-forming converter become current source, which causes three different external characteristic models of parallel converter. In this study, three models of parallel system were established, and the effect of different coupling power directions was analyzed based on the power angle curve. Further, the influence of different parameters of converter was discussed and three different cases of converter transient stability due to interaction was revealed. The interaction between converters is mainly determined by the coupling power direction. When the external characteristics of the converters are the same, the coupling power direction is mainly determined by the power angle. When the external characteristics are different, the coupling power direction is determined by the current limiting strategy. The correctness of the theoretical analysis was verified based on the PSCAD platform. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we consider the occurrence of extreme disasters (e.g., typhoons, rainstorms, etc.) that cause major power outages and disconnect the distribution network from the main network, which can only rely on distributed power sources and mobile power sources in the distribution network to restore power to the distribution network's lost loads. Among them, extreme disasters cause different degrees of damage to the distribution network lines, resulting in the formation of several different islands in the distribution network. The power and load distribution inside each island varies, and in order to maximize the balance of load restoration, mobile electric vehicles need to be dispatched and moved to important lost loads as important power supply resources to realize the source-load balance inside multiple islands, to enhance the efficiency of resource dispatch and the effect of important load restoration in the distribution network to a greater extent, and to realize the optimal on-demand allocation of electric vehicles within the city after the disaster. Finally, the correctness and feasibility are verified on the IEEE 33-node test system. © 2023 IEEE.

Extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) is a key technology for micro-nano processing and is widely used in the chip manufacturing process. Mask optimization is one of the key resolution enhancement techniques in EUV lithography. In this paper, a thick mask optimization method based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to improve simulation accuracy and imaging quality. In this work, we change the calculation order of formulas, which is used to accelerate the imaging calculations. The equivalent film layer method is used to approximate the reflection coefficients of thick mask multilayer film structures to improve the simulation accuracy. The inverse lithography problem for thick mask optimization is solved by particle swarm optimization algorithm. The simulation results show that this method can effectively improve the simulation accuracy and imaging quality. © 2023 SPIE.

This paper addresses the problem of autonomous landing of UAV using position-based visual servoing (PBVS) approach. An autonomous landing strategy is proposed, utilizing marker detection with a downward-facing monocular camera, target pose estimation, and velocity command computation. Experiments are performed in both static and dynamic scenarios. The results validate the effectiveness of this approach, demonstrating successful UAV landing with an average accuracy of 0.0169 m, ensuring safety throughout the flight. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information Institute 2024.

Business Process Management (BPM) as a management discipline has become crucial for organizations to be competitive and also an important area of research for many business organizations. The need for employees with skills and knowledge in business process management, as organizations develop their processes through modeling, simulation, implementation and continuous improvement may require an appropriate workforce to develop people with knowledge and expertise such as business process modelers, analysts, designers and implementers etc. This places a great demand on higher education institutions to provide these competencies by teaching business process management to their students. It has become necessary to develop educational approaches that actually allow for effective BPM teaching. Furthermore, to provide high-quality education and research, the universities themselves may take advantage of Business Process Management. Due to the emergence of BPM a number of higher education institutions around the world have begun implementing BPM over the past few decades. However, the number of institutions that offer specialized education on BPM in a systematic and in-depth manner is rare compared to other disciplines. This paper presents a business process management project at the Libyan international Medical University (LIMU) for the purpose of digital transformation from a functional management system to a business process management system. We will present the project from its inception, the process of selecting trainees, the stages of development they have gone through and the current stage of the project. In general, the selected trainees have achieved high levels of learning using the assisted self-learning method. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents the software solution for control and calibration of 6 channel RF source for hyperthermia treatment of cancer. As per the system requirement, output power in each independent channel has been controlled from 30 to 50 dBm (1 W to 100 W) in 400-1000 MHz operating band using 7-bit digital attenuator. Power has been measured using directional couplers, for which the coupling varies from 33 dB to 26 dB in 400-1000 MHz operating band. Hence, to get accurate output power in each channel, calibration has been done using microcontroller and SCPI commands in spectrum analyzer using C and Python languages. Calibrated results show that measured output power and calculated output power in the entire operating band of operation has a mean error variation from 1 to 4.38 % and standard deviation error of 0.088 to 2.25 %. Interlock has been provided in each channel to switch off RF input when any of the RF performance parameters like temperature, forward and reflected power, VSWR, supply voltage and current of high-power amplifier exceeds the threshold set in the microcontroller. This technique of control and calibration of RF source can be used in microwave ablation (MWA), microwave applicators for food processing, waste treatment and in agriculture drying. © 2023 IEEE.
