The control problem of course tracking of ships is considered in this paper. An adaptive neural dynamic surface control for course tracking of ships with full state constraints is presented. The unavailability of an accurate model, system nonlinearity, and external disturbances makes the course control of ships a challenging task. A radial basis function neural network is used to approximate the nonlinear function. A barrier Lyapunov function is considered to deal with the state constraints, and a first-order filter is introduced to overcome the 'explosion of complexity' problem. The stability analysis of the closed-loop system is carried out using the Lyapunov method and it is verified that all the signals are bounded. The performance of the controller is evaluated with the help of simulation results. It is verified that the proposed controller can ensure the tracking of reference signals without violating state constraints. © 2023 IEEE.

This research presents a novel application of the InceptionV3 model for detecting rice leaf diseases, which holds significant importance in agricultural disease control. The present study employs transfer learning methodologies to improve the efficacy of the InceptionV3 architecture, which has undergone prior training on a diverse dataset. This study aims to precisely classify 14 distinct categories of diseases that impact the leaves of rice plants. The model's training process consists of 100 epochs, with a batch size of 40. The training procedure employs the Adam and Adamax optimization algorithms with the default learning rate. The findings of this study exhibit great promise, as the InceptionV3model, which was constructed as part of this research, demonstrated an exceptional peak accuracy of 96%. The model's capacity to effectively detect complex patterns and differentiate complex aspects in photographs significantly underscores its potential to revolutionize the identification of rice illnesses. This technical advance significantly impacts the agriculture industry by facilitating the rapid identification of diseases and the prompt application of mitigation measures. The current investigation represents a notable progression in rice disease management, intending to improve the efficiency and accuracy of instruments employed in this domain. The research discoveries possess the capacity to augment crop yield and make a significant contribution to global food security. © 2023 IEEE.

Ever increasing power demand and focus on green energy has increased the use of renewable energy resources (RES) leading towards low inertia of microgrid that causes frequency oscillations and may make the microgrid unstable. The frequency regulation activities are maintained by the load frequency control (LFC) in a power system or microgrid. LFC involves data to be sensed at a remote location of power system and then this measured data is communicated over a distance to the controller terminals. The communication network is prone to attacks/threats. So, the frequency deviation for cyber-attack affects all other interconnected areas, and thus threatens the stability of the entire network. This paper focuses on cyber security issues in LFC due to the effect of different cyber-attacks. The sensitivity evaluation is executed to comprehend the feasible threats causing stability failure, and their origin. Variety of attacks, viz. denial of service attack (DoS), false data injection (FDI) attack, resonance attack, are investigated on a multi-source hybrid microgrid. Different type of FDI attacks such as scaling attack, ramp attack, pulse attack and random attack are implemented in this paper. Moreover, multiple nonlinearities like generation rate constraints, boiler dynamics and governor dead band are included in the system model so that the stability of the microgrid can be examined for more realistic situation. © 2023 IEEE.

There are a variety of civilian, public, and military applications that might be developed for drones. Because they come equipped with their own communications infrastructure, they may be remotely controlled from a distance. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are gaining popularity for its utilization in a range of activities due to their low cost, versatility, ease of deployment, and the ability to replace manually-operated aircraft in many situations. These vehicles are capable of performing a wide range of activities, such as monitoring, managing crowds, providing wireless coverage, and surveillance. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), often known as drones have the ability to offer solutions that are not only trustworthy but also economical for addressing a wide range of real-time challenges. With the inherent characteristics such as mobility, flexibility, and compatibility in terms of communications, UAVs are able to provide a wide range of services. The ability to monitor a particular area and the flexibility to react to changing demands for services proves the effectiveness of deploying Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). As a result, deep learning, also known as DL, is utilized in an increasingly broad manner to overcome the challenges that UAVs face in terms of connectivity and resource utilization. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a new strategy for pinning control node selection is proposed, namely: pinning control strategy based on ADrd (Adjacency Degree and Resistance Distance) algorithm. Firstly, the model of the undirected network and the sufficient conditions to achieve synchronization are given. Secondly, the steps of the pinning control strategy based on the ADrd algorithm are specifically given and applied to dolphins network, and by comparing the pinning control strategy based on the resistance distance, it is concluded that: the pinning control strategy based on the ADrd algorithm is better than the pinning control strategy based on the resistance distance. Finally, the correctness and effectiveness of the method are verified by numerical simulation. © 2023 SPIE.

Expressway guidance signs provide clear direction information for traveling vehicles to the city or important places. Reasonable and efficient guidance sign information is beneficial for improving vehicle traffic efficiency, alleviating road network congestion, and promoting energy conservation and emission reduction. Currently, the selection of expressway guidance sign information lacks good theoretical support in practice. Therefore, this paper proposes a guidance sign information selection method based on the theory of stochastic user equilibrium traffic assignment. Under the condition of known traffic demand, obtain the traffic flow assumed by all links in the case of road network equilibrium by stochastic user equilibrium traffic assignment, and clarify the traffic distribution of each OD demand in each link. Then, 2-3 guidance destination information is selected by sorting the volume of traffic flow. Finally, a case study is conducted based on real data of the Chitou hub in Guangxi expressways, to show the proposed guidance sign selecting method, and compare the newly generated and the existing selected guidance sign information. © 2023 IEEE.

In today's era, Agriculture plays an important role in the economic progress of any country. The soil fertility and moisture level will have a major impact on the crop yield. Normally, fertilizers are suggested based on the nutrients present in the soil. Manually measuring the soil nutrients in the soil is a time consuming. Usually most of the farmers avoid soil testing in the laboratory and encourages to promote the same crop in the field continuously, so as a result the fertility of the soil will be lost. For the benefits of farmers, a precise agriculture method system has been introduced with the help of wireless sensor networks, the benefit of this system is remotely monitoring the soil nutrients, which are available in the soil, that is the three main nutrients, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium which contributes to major nutrients of the soil and other parameters namely moisture level of the soil, pH of soil, humidity of soil, sunlight, temperature and TDS. pH level accounts for the stability of the growth of the plant. TDS value determines the purity of water supplied to the root crops. Sunlight is an essential parameter in the growth of the plant which is monitored in this system. This data is copied and transmitted to the cloud server so the noted values of the nutrients are displayed in the mobile application server. The proposed Internet of things (IoT) software system has the intelligence to suggest the amount of water and fertilizer that will enhance the soil's quality and guarantee the best possible crop development. © 2023 IEEE.

Terahertz-based communication systems could provide large data speeds, great spatial resolution, and secure data transmission. Microstrip patch antennas would be suitable for this target, and miniaturization is a necessary prerequisite for THz-range devices. This was the vision of our current study which aimed to design and analyse such an antenna over the entire THz range from 0.1 to 10 THz by introducing graphene material in different potential configurations of the patch and feedline. The analysis was done for four main characteristics of the antenna: return loss, VSWR, gain and directivity. Furthermore, a parametric study of substrate thicknesses was conducted for three different materials: RT5880, silicon, and polymide. By investigating graphene throughout the entire structure, we obtained a broad bandwidth of more than 9 THz, which is quite interesting for the telecommunication field. Additionally, VSWR is less than 2, starting from 2.2 THz for the various substrate materials. The directivity is improved using graphene, and silicon as the substrate material, and can reach about 7.45 dBi for a thickness of 4.75 μm. The gain can then reach about 34 dBi at 0.1 THz. The gain and directivity could be improved over frequency by the implementation of an antenna array, which will be of great interest for future studies of the sixth generation of telecommunications (6G). © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents the design, kinematic, and nonlinear control algorithm of a 3 degrees of freedom (DOF) pneumatic haptic finger developed for elastographic imaging virtual palpation. This haptic interface allows for precise tracking of the index finger position and can provide directional force perception at the fingertip. Of the 4 DOF of the human finger, two are kinematically coupled (distal and proximal interphalangeal joints), one DOF of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint is controlled independently, while the remaining MCP joint DOF is only measured. Relationships between the joint angles and actuator positions, as well as fingertip to actuator forces are derived in closed form. In this article, we focus on the finite-time prescribed performance control (FTPPC) of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) based on neural network. By introducing a novel concept called finite-time performance function (FTPF), the model is converted so that the tracking error can converge to the specified area within a finite time. In addition, radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) are used to approximate unknown nonlinear continuous functions, which can effectively avoid obstacles caused by unknown time-varying disturbances and random uncertainties. Simulation results have demonstrated that compared with the existing control algorithms, the proposed algorithm significantly improves the convergence speed, stability and robustness. Moreover, this algorithm has good adaptability to deal with the time-varying structural uncertainties faced with UAV. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information Institute 2024.
