Due to its self-limiting purge-separated reaction, atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) leads a pathway for precisely thick, conformal, pinhole-free thin films relevant to semiconductors, optoelectronic, and flexible electronic devices. For this research, MoS2 was synthesized on Si/SiO2 substrate by sulfurizing MoO3 films deposited by ALD. The XPS analysis for conformance of MoS2 revealed that there is significant variation in the Mo3d and S2p plots. The study of variation in XPS data using an ML algorithm is envisioned to automate the research process and improve the accuracy of XPS analysis. This research attempts to develop an effective AI module to assist researchers in studying XPS analysis accurately and efficiently. © 2023 IEEE.

The spreading of mobile communication networks resulted in a vast amount of signaling traffic on the control plane. It is quite challenging to analyze the extensive number of message sequences, recognize patterns and identify anomalies manually. However, cutting-edge machine learning methods offer excellent tools to explore unusual events in signaling traffic to provide countermeasures in the mobile network. The paper proposes a data exploration method with an LSTM-Autoencoder based latent space model to visualize manifolds controlling the generation of control plane traffic. The model has been validated on a live LTE signaling traffic captured on the S1-MME interface. © 2023 IEEE.

Load frequency regulation (LFR) is regarded as a significant method for the stable operation of modern power grids. However, the LFR is facing many challenges such as communication delays in the area control error, and external disturbances caused by renewable energy integrating into power grids. This paper presents a cascaded improved active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) to handle these control challenges, where the inner and outer controllers are the improved ADRC and regular ADRC, respectively. The advantages of the improved ADRC to reject external disturbances and system uncurtains are discussed by simulations. Then a practical parameter tuning method is provided to guide the selection of controller parameters. Finally, comparative simulations are implemented to illustrate the abilities of the proposed control scheme in different cases. The proposed control structure can handle the communication delay well and have a strong ability to reject the disturbances of uncertain consumed power and wind power. The simulation results imply that the cascaded improved ADRC may have broad application prospects for the LFR. (C) 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. Consider a class of satellite with rotating payload that has high moment of inertia and high rotation speed. In general, the ideal condition of perfect symmetry cannot be satisfied for the rotating payload. It is recognized in this paper that the rotation of the payload will cause the change of the satellite's centre of mass. For this special type of satellite, a general form of dynamics has been established by complex modelling. Based on the mathematical model, the disturbance torques generated by the rotating payload are decomposed into six major categories and analysed in detail. Finally, the results of the analysis are directly verified by mathematical simulations. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

Lithium-ion battery is playing an increasingly important role as an energy storage system in today's power systems. Pre-heating of the Lithium-ion is significant for the operation safety and state of health, when the operation temperature is really low. This paper analyzes the impedance model of Lithium-ion batteries, selects the frequency of pure ohmic resistance as the frequency of the AC heating current, and proposes a method for self-heating the AC current generated by the Multi-Active-Bridge (MAB) converter. Finally, a 4-port MAB converter is established to verify the above self-heating mechanism. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a real-time 3 -DOF orientation motion control for a weight-compensated spherical motor with a rotor dynamic model derived using 3D axis -angle representation to facilitate the controller design. By integrating the sensor fusion-based real-time 3-DOF orientation estimation method, a sliding mode control method is developed employing the equivalent axis and angle as the control parameters, which is followed by the investigation of system stability using the Direct Lyapunov stability method. The effectiveness and accuracy of the control system are experimentally demonstrated and evaluated on a permanent-magnet spherical motor prototype fabricated using additive manufacturing with regulation and tracking control experiments.

Quality control remains a significant challenge in 3D food printing, in which defects during the printing process will lead to resource and time wastage. This work proposes a novel approach integrating cameras, image processing, and supervised machine learning to autonomously assess the quality of 3D food printed items. At crucial stages of the printing process, images of partially manufactured parts are captured and analyzed based on its geometry. Utilizing smartphones and the Internet of Things for efficient monitoring, the designed system aims to minimize material wastage, a prevalent concern in the creative food industry. The monitoring tool employs a 3D printer embedded with Raspberry Pi and a primary camera, with image processing carried out by the Obico plugin on Raspberry Pi to issue commands for real-time performance monitoring. The implementation of this technology not only addresses early defect detection but also enhancing food design and minimizing environmental impact, presenting promising prospects for the future of the food industry. © 2023 IEEE.

This study explores and preliminarily validates an online calibration method for Augmented Reality Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Displays. One of the major obstacles with those devices concerns the complexity and the unreliability of the calibration procedures for a correct virtual-to-real alignment, a key aspect of medical and industrial settings. Specific simplified procedures calibrate Commercial Optical See-Through devices, but these are mainly based on the adjustment of the single degree of freedom associated with the user's interpupillary distance. The presented work aims to provide a calibration method that can improve the performance and the accuracy of the user with precise control of the rendering cameras intrinsic and extrinsic parameters on the top of the device's default calibration system. The study was carried out using Microsoft HoloLens 2, which is one of the most advanced Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Displays, and we asked users to complete a targeting task within their peripersonal space after calibrating the device. Preliminary results show that the proposed method improves the alignment task by approximately 50 % in terms of mean error and by approximately 35 % in terms of maximum error. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper focuses on the research background and status of the system design of RAFID access control based on raspberry pie, the construction of hardware circuits, the working principle of each module, the design of software programs and the process of physical debugging. The main reason for setting up the topic is to change the original human guard. Although the original human guard was flexible, but the irreversible personnel mobilization could not be quickly adjusted, resulting in management loopholes. The modern access control system not only reduces labor costs, but also makes flow management more standardized. In this paper, through the detection of face feature information and RFID card identification code, the data collected is transmitted to the raspberry pie through the trigger module (photo module and RFID module), and the raspberry dispatch database or photo library is compared and verified. If the match is successful, it will also be transferred to the computer to display the measured results, and then let the driver module operate to open the valve. This raspberry pie design raspberry pie as the core module, the function of RFID plus face recognition is the innovation of this access system, as long as one of the two recognition successes can open the door valve. This design, through the face recognition principle, RFID recognition principle, WiFi communication methods and other aspects of mastery and analysis, has planned and designed to complete the convergence between various modules, and finally completed the design, to achieve access control systems of two recognition modes. © 2023 IEEE.
