Design of a delay dependent wide area damping controller using Cyber-Physical Power System architecture

With the wide application of information and communication technology in power grids, the integration and collaboration of information networks and physical grid have become an essential feature of the smart grid, constituting a typical power information physical system. However, information network has communication time delay problem, which tends to deteriorate the system controller performance or even counter-tune, leading to system instability. To effectively reduce lowfrequency oscillation of the wide-area interconnected grid and overcome the negative impact of the communication network's delay problem, a delay dependent Wide Area Damping controller(WADC) is designed using cyber-physical power system architecture. First, we establish a power information physical system simulation platform based on Object linking and embedding for Process control (OPC) technology, implementing the joint operation of the power system simulation tool DIgSILENT and the information system simulation tool MATLAB. The platform can effectively respond to the system's information system and physical system interaction effects during simulation. Then, to compensate for communication delays in the power information physical system, this paper proposes a new WADC strategy that uses a Model Predictive controller (MPC) to generate control commands and an adaptive time delay compensator to compensate for the random communication delays generated in the communication. Finally, a case study with various uncertainties and through the interference test of a four-machine system and 39 bus system, the proposed control strategy is proposed. (c) 2023 The Author(s). The auto-flight system of modern civil aircraft is the main man-machine interaction system, and its flight mode operation function is jointly completed by FMCP hardware and auto-flight control system software. In order to achieve a complex flight mode operation control logic design, first the hardware and software composition and specific functions of flight mode operation control are clarified. Then the flight mode operation function is refined and logically sorted out. Finally, the software and hardware models of flight mode operation control are established through Simulink. This paper verifies whether the realization of the mode operation control function meets the expectation. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper analyses the fault existing in domestic worm gear and worm reducer, through the study of the worm and worm wheel material, processing, assembling and influence factors of lubrication and provides a selection of materials for the worm gear and worm gear reducer, worm gear and worm surface quality control Suggestions, worm gear and worm assembly and lubrication, etc., finally through the bench test and industrial test, The reducer can be used in the mine for more than 6 months without abnormal conditions, indicating that the development of the reducer is successful. © 2023 SPIE. In order to meet the diversified storage requirements and improve the work safety and warehouse management level, a design of warehouse robot based on STM32 single chip computer is proposed. According to the functional requirements of the experimental environment, the corresponding mechanical structure is designed and the control hardware is selected. The sinusoidal speed regulation is used to control the speed of the robot in the process of starting and braking and to prevent the robot from producing too large shock due to the speed change too fast. At the same time, in order to solve the speed instability and deviation caused by unbalanced center of gravity and uneven distribution of ground friction coefficient, the CASADE PID algorithm of Angle ring and speed ring in series is used to control the motion. The experiment shows that the traveling speed of the robot can be flexibly set according to the actual demand, and the steady-state error between the actual speed and the preset speed is no more than 3%, and the real-time attitude adjustment can be carried out when the speed is stable, and the automatic correction can be made back to the preset trajectory when the deviation occurs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), significant advancements have been made. These advancements aim to bridge the gap between the physical and digital realms by introducing various modules. Traditional techniques predominantly involve relocating the tracking ball or adding buttons to the mouse. However, our proposed solution offers novel mouse control options. Our solution incorporates hand tracking, marker motion tracking, and colored object tracking to facilitate movement. The primary focus of this research proposal revolves around mouse cursor movement, as well as click event-based object detection and marker identification. It demonstrates how computer vision technologies, using cameras, can perform all the functions that a mouse currently accomplishes (e.g., left/right click, double-click, scroll, etc.), including tasks like picture segmentation and gesture recognition. Gesture identification poses a challenging problem that necessitates a diverse range of techniques such as motion modeling, motion analysis, pattern recognition, and machine learning. For instance, the ability to click and move the mouse can be achieved through the recognition of colored objects. The fundamental objective of this approach is to utilize a webcam to construct a virtual device for human-computer interaction. A method for recognizing hand movements and their associated gestures has been developed, encompassing all relevant elements. Consequently, numerous mouse operations can be performed when motion is recognized. © 2023 IEEE.

Engine speed is a key parameter of the engine electronic control system. When the speed control system is under electromagnetic pulse (EMP), the speed signals couple with the EMPs to form EMP coupling signals that interfere with the normal operation of the engine. Thus, this article presents an EMP coupling signal detection method for an engine speed control system. First, we conducted irradiation tests to obtain the characteristics of the EMP coupling signal and analyzed the effect on the speed control system. Then, a fitting generation method that transiently mixes multiple sinusoidally damped signals with the speed signal is used to expand the data set. Finally, the detection method based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and Time-frequency analysis is designed, and the acquired signals are made into image sets and fed into the designed convolution neural network for training. The accuracy of the trained model in identifying the EMP coupling signal and the normal speed signal reached 98.5%. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

This study aims to delve into the integration of photovoltaic power forecasting technology with energy storage systems, with a particular focus on the research of charging strategies, to enhance the efficiency of renewable energy utilization and the reliability of the electrical power system. The weather-related fluctuations of photovoltaic systems and the introduction of energy storage offer potential solutions to address challenges in the power system. We will investigate various photovoltaic power forecasting methods, including weather data-driven forecasting, machine learning, and deep learning techniques, as well as real-time monitoring and model-driven approaches to formulate comprehensive charging strategies aimed at maximizing the efficiency of renewable energy systems and supporting the sustainability of the power system. Furthermore, we will conduct an in-depth exploration of different charging methods for energy storage batteries, including constant current-constant voltage charging, multi-stage constant current charging, pulse charging, AC charging, and charging methods based on photovoltaic power forecasting models, to further refine energy storage charging strategies, stimulate interaction in the energy storage resource market, fully tap into the potential of energy storage resources participating in the power market, and provide new insights and methods for clean energy supply and power system operation. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the unavoidable consistency difference among cells in an energy storage battery pack, a multi-threshold adaptive clustering group equalization control method is proposed. First, a single-inductor energy storage equalization topology with simple structure, simple control and perfect balancing function is introduced. Second, while introducing the idea of cluster equalization, a group equalization control method is established based on adjacent cells with small consistency difference, so as to realize the transfer of equalization energy between battery groups containing different numbers of adjacent cells. Final, through simulation experiments, it is verified that the proposed cluster group equalization control can significantly improve the equalization speed while ensuring the equalization efficiency compared with the "one-to-one"equalization control based on the extreme difference or average. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

The increasing integration of expansive wind farms into the power grid, along with the widespread implementation of energy storage on the grid, has led to a growing focus on the power quality issue within the combined wind power storage system. Therefore, this paper analyzes the power quality of the wind-power-storage combined system from the aspects of harmonic analysis, voltage fluctuation, and power flicker, aiming at the wind power injection and energy storage access to the power system, and proposes an ETAP-based power quality calculation and analysis method for the wind-power-storage combined system. Based on a combined wind power storage system, the method proposed in this paper is simulated and analyzed by using ETAP software to calculate the harmonic content, voltage fluctuation, and power flicker value of the system. The simulation results show that the method proposed in this paper can be effectively used to analyze and evaluate the power quality problems of the combined wind power storage system. © 2023 IEEE.
