This study proposes an innovate nonlinear programming model to optimize the shipping cost under the restriction of Emission control Area (ECA). The arctic shipping route entitles the most potentially route from Asia to Euro to significantly reduce the shipping cost. Therefore, aiming to optimal the existing shipping cost, the optimized model is provided and finds that the feeder ships have better performance on economic cost whether sailing in ECA accordingly with the carbon tax less than 190 USD/tons. The proposed optimization method can well reduce the shipping cost and get better emission performance when choosing the arctic shipping route. And the results also can improve the shipping company's revenues and maintain environmental sustainability. © 2023 SPIE.

Pantograph slide plate and contact wire play an important role in the process of electric energy transmission. However, the contact state between the two can affect the flow quality of the train and then affect the train operation. In order to more accurately judge the failure of the mesh system, a SAOA-HKELM sliding contact failure diagnosis method based on SmoteTomek is proposed in this paper. First, a metal-immersed carbon slide plate and copper wire are used as friction pairs to simulate the sliding operation process of pantograph-catenary system. The variation in the current-carrying stability coefficient and off-line rate with sliding speed, contact current, pressure fluctuation amplitude and pressure fluctuation frequency are obtained, and it is used as the criterion of pantograph-catenary failure. Second, a comprehensive sampling algorithm is used to supplement the minority samples in the experiment. The generated balanced dataset was used to train the hybrid kernel extreme learning machine failure diagnosis model, and the improved archimedes algorithm was used to optimize the parameters of the model. Aiming at the shortcomings of the basic archimedes algorithm, the circle chaotic mapping strategy, reverse learning strategy, individual mutation strategy, and the introduction of a nonlinear density factor are applied to the basic archimedes algorithm to expand the global search range of the basic algorithm, population flexibility, and optimize the population individual quality to form a shifty archimedes algorithm (SAOA). Finally, the accuracy of the model is compared with that of other models, which further proves the effectiveness of the model and the superiority of the improved algorithm for unbalanced datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to realize a multi-channel exhalation detection device with large dynamic range and high precision, a well designed signal processing and sampling circuit is essential for gas sensors. In this paper, a particular circuit is designed to meet above requirement. The proposed circuit uses a constant current source to achieve linear transformation of resistance value and output voltage, and uses a voltage follower for impedance transformation to minimize the impact of the AD acquisition on the front-end circuit. Since the gas sensor can be regarded as a variable resistor, the proposed circuit is tested with variable resistors varying from 10kΩ to 50MΩ, over three orders of magnitude. In order to increase the sensitivity of the gas sensors, it is need to heat the sensor. Then a multi-channel heating circuit is designed with independent adjustable heating current in each channel, which can be controlled with multi-channel PWM signal from the MCU. With simulation and experiment, the performance of the proposed circuit has been verified to be excellent. Furthermore, the circuit has the advantage of being used in various fields. © 2023 IEEE.

The low inertia weak current grid characteristics of the DC microgrid is due to the fact that the DC microgrid contains original DC units such as photovoltaics and energy storage with limited capacity and energy conversion is implemented with power electronic converters. The transient stability of the DC microgrid is seriously threatened and the reliable operation of the system is greatly affected when significant disturbances occur. For the sake of the stable operation of the DC microgrid with large signals, guarantee system transient stability and utilization of distributed energy resources (DERs), the decentralized coordinated control strategy is proposed for DC microgrid with a hybrid energy storage system (HESS) consisting of supercapacitor and battery. Operating modes of interface converters are determined quickly and switched smoothly through local information such as the output characteristics of photovoltaic, state-of-charge (SoC) of battery, the power demand of load, and the status of the power grid (in grid-connected mode) when the DC microgrid is subject to large transient disturbances. Moreover, short-circuit fault ride-through capability can be realized immediately by the supercapacitor unit if short-circuit fault occurs at DC bus. A simulation model of the DC microgrid is built in MATLAB/Simulink environment, and the proposed coordination strategy is verified by digital simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.

In this work, the torque rheology, mechanical properties, migration resistance, thermal deformation, and Vicat softening point temperature of PVC plasticized by four environmentally friendly plasticizers are investigated. The experimental results reveal that the plasticizer's heavy metal content meets production requirements while falling below the limiting standard. Plasticizer melting points differ, as do the enthalpy and torque of the entire melting process, resulting in different energy consumption when melting plasticizers. Also, the mechanical properties of PVC are not different, but the mechanical properties of PVC plasticized by epoxy soybean oil are the most prominent. Besides, the Vicat softening point temperature of PVC plasticized by four environmentally friendly plasticizers is within the normal standard range, and the migration amount in different solvents is changed in a small range, which will not affect human health. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Vehicle-To-vehicle (V2V) communication is a pivotal aspect of modern automotive technology, facilitating wireless data exchange among motor vehicles. This paper presents a comprehensive study aimed at enhancing V2V communication by incorporating the controller area network (CAN) gateway mechanism. CAN gateways play a crucial role in intelligent transportation systems, harnessing technology to optimize traffic flow and enhance road safety. The paper focuses on data accuracy, with transmitted information consistently formatted in 8-byte sequences. Data transfer rates, ranging from 1 kbit per second to 1 Mbit per second, are examined, particularly in the context of high-speed CAN gateways. To accommodate extensive data transfers, the CAN-FD gateway is introduced, supporting 64-byte data packets and data transfer speeds spanning 1 Mbps to 8 Mbps. The study employs specialized functions for efficient data packing into either 8-byte or 64-byte formats, ensuring secure packet formation and subsequent interpretation by the appropriate CAN gateway. Experimental simulations demonstrate that CAN data transmitted to different electronic control units (ECUs) within one vehicle can be successfully interpreted by another, establishing robust and effective V2V communication capabilities. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, with the acceleration of industrialization and the continuous upgrading of consumption structure, energy consumption has increased year by year, among which primary energy consumption such as coal and oil accounts for about 70 % of total energy consumption. Therefore, more and more attention has been paid to energy conservation and the development and utilization of new energy. In the context of the increasingly tense global energy situation, the development and utilization of geothermal energy, shallow geothermal energy and other resources have received more and more attention and research. Therefore, it is very important to explore the utilization of geothermal energy to solve the problem of China's over dependence on fossil energy. The useless solid waste coal gangue produced in the process of coal mining gradually accumulates to form a coal gangue mountain. Due to the special flammable chemical properties of coal gangue, there is a tendency of spontaneous combustion. The combustion of coal gangue mountain will release toxic gases, which will have a huge impact on the surrounding production and life. If the heat stored in the coal gangue mountain is used, it can not only improve the environmental pollution caused by spontaneous combustion of coal gangue mountain, but also make use of a large amount of heat in the coal gangue mountain. Based on this background, this paper studies the thermal energy of coal gangue mountain. Based on this, this paper designs a thermoelectric power generation system based on coal gangue mountain heat energy. According to the field data, the whole process of thermoelectric conversion is simulated by the finite element simulation software comsol. The thermal energy development model of coal gangue mountain, the heat transfer model of gravity heat pipe, the thermoelectric power generation module and the numerical model of thermoelectric coupling are established. Increasing penetration of power electronic interfaced renewable energy resources in microgrid leads to reduced system inertia, which in turn results into a microgrid vulnerable to load change and leads to frequency instability. Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) incorporates synthetic inertia to microgrid, which replicates conventional power plant properties like rotational mass and oscillation damping to reduce load frequency transients. In this paper, we introduce a VSG that in addition to providing extra inertia in a low inertia microgrid, also makes the system resilient against extreme conditions such as cyber-attack. PID controller is extensively used to represent primary, secondary controllers and rotor of synchronous generator in VSG. Achieving accurate tuning of VSG /PID controller parameters may be challenging. In this paper the parameters are tuned by Zeigler-Nicholas (Z-N) technique which is successful even for systems with uncertain mathematical models and works on the system's transient response and hence is a natural choice of tuning controller parameters. In recent times, the vulnerability of power system under cyber-attack has become a very important aspect of research. This paper establishes that the VSG introduced in the microgrid is effective in improving the resiliency of the system under different cyber-attacks. Therefore, the present paper proposes a VSG that fulfils the purpose of improvement of performance of a low inertia microgrid for load frequency control in event of sudden load change, variation in renewable generation and also works effectively to protect the system under cyber-attack. © 2023 IEEE.

Hypersonic glide vehicles (HGVs) have the characteristics of high mobility and penetration ability, which make trajectory prediction very complicated and bring great challenges to the defence system. Accurate prediction of the target's flight trajectory helps the defence system make correct interception decisions. In this paper, we propose an HGV trajectory prediction method based on temporal convolutional network (TCN). The input of the network is the six-dimensional characteristics of the aircraft, including the position, speed, ballistic inclination and course angle, and the output is the trajectory for some time in the future. In addition, we compare and analyse the prediction effect of long short-term memory network (LSTM) and temporal convolutional network. The results show that the TCN has better performance than LSTM in long-term prediction. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

In the field of construction, the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology combined with computer vision offers a promising avenue for enhancing the quality control and intelligent monitoring of village and township construction projects. This paper introduces a novel approach that integrates BIM with advanced computer vision algorithms to automatically detect construction anomalies and assess quality in real time. Through this integration, the research deploys an experimental system across various construction phases, employing it to monitor adherence to BIM models and identify deviations. The findings reveal a significant improvement in error detection accuracy, substantially reducing the reliance on manual inspections and associated costs. Moreover, the system effectively provides project managers with continuous feedback and insights, thereby streamlining decision-making processes and ensuring compliance with construction standards. Conclusively, this research demonstrates the potential of combining BIM and computer vision technologies to revolutionize construction management practices, marking a step forward in the pursuit of more efficient and high-quality construction processes. © 2025 SPIE.
