Direct current-direct current buck converters are widely used in industrial fields. In practical applications, parameter uncertainty, external disturbances and measurement noise affect the control performance of DC-DC buck converter. To deal with external disturbances and measurement noise in DC-DC buck converter, a control strategy combining extended state observer (ESO) and Kalman filter (KF) is proposed in this paper. The extended state observer is used to estimate the lumped disturbance of the DC-DC buck converter system. However, in order to achieve fast convergence in the control process, the observer chooses a large control gain, which results in severe noise amplification. To this end, the Kalman filter is used to filter the noise. The composite control method proposed in this paper can improve the robustness and voltage tracking performance of DC-DC buck converter. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

An efficient model for capturing gas transients in the energy flow of integrated electricity-gas systems

Gas-fired units provide great flexibility to accommodate the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources and are also considered to be an ideal substitute for retiring coal-fired generations. However, the increasing deployment of gas-fired units deepens interdependency between electric power and natural gas, calling for efficient modeling of the heterogeneous energy flow in the integrated electricity-gas systems (IEGS). Plenty of research works show the necessity of considering gas flow transients in the IEGS, which can be described by a set of partial differential equations (PDEs). To ensure a tractable optimization, the PDEs are often discretized using the finite/infinite difference method, which may result in a large computational scale for achieving good precision. To this end, this paper proposes an efficient model for capturing gas flow transients in the IEGS, which can be taken as the operational constraints in the optimal energy flow model for IEGS coordinated planning, scheduling, and control. For improving the computational efficiency, the PDE-based transient gas flow model is discretized using a space-time orthogonal collocation (OC) method, which provides high-quality results using fewer spatial-temporal discrete points than differential methods. Further, aiming at the difficulty in the determination of the number of space-time collocation points, an adaptive strategy is proposed and embedded in the proposed model utilizing the local fitting errors of state variables related to pipelines. Case studies show the superiority in computational accuracy and efficiency of the proposed model over the existing models based on Wendorff difference and global OC. And an illustrative case based on the modified IEGS benchmark system composed of the IEEE 118-bus power system and the Belgian 20-node gas network exhibits the application value of the proposed model in the optimization and control of the IEGS. This paper describes test results of two sets of VRLA GEL batteries that included various phenomena which might accelerate their degradation process in off-grid PV systems like: incomplete charges (bad recharges), low start current and remaining in partially discharge state. The test shown in the paper included two cycling experiments lasting 45 days and 98 days during which the batteries where constantly charged and discharged in different cycles. The results show strong acceleration of degradation process for incomplete charges (bad recharges) which are specifically difficult to avoid in off-grid systems. In order to avoid the premature destruction of lead-acid battery in off-grid PV systems the hybrid battery system consisting of lithium-iron-phosphate and lead-acid batteries connected with DC/DC converter is proposed. & COPY;2023 The Author(s). In view of the serious erosion and wear of the existing control valves under small opening, it is difficult to meet the requirements of the equipment system. The internal flow field of the newly developed jet control valve was numerically simulated by using computational fluid dynamics software. The distribution law of the internal pressure field and velocity field of the control valve with different opening degrees was studied, and the comparison with common rotary valves was *** results show that with the increase of the opening, the flow performance of the jet valve is more stable, and the maximum flow velocity is concentrated in the center of the basin, which avoids the eccentric flow wear and erosion on the valve body and the pipeline behind the valve, overcomes the defects of the existing rotary valves, and ensures the long-term safe and stable operation of the system. © 2024 SPIE.

Aiming at the conflict between thermal design and maintainability design in aircraft cockpit, a fault diagnosis method of in-cabin environmental control integrated system is proposed. The emphasis is on the electric control system and the motor system of fan compressor. The electric control box adopts independent closed design, which is installed inside the device, in the same environment as the cabin, and placed on the circulating air channel, and the bottom is provided with cooling fins, which is beneficial to the heat dissipation of electrical components. The connection is completed by shielded twisted-pair cable, etc., and the relationship between heat dissipation design and electromagnetic compatibility design must be handled well. The electric scroll compressor is adopted, and the compressor motor adopts high-efficiency permanent magnet motor with centralized winding, which weakens the mutual inductance between phases and improves the motor efficiency. The rotor magnetic steel is made of NdFeB rare earth permanent magnet material, which has the advantages of small volume, high efficiency, large output peak torque, fast response of control parameters, wide speed regulation range and accurate positioning. © 2023 SPIE.

In this study, the combined energy hub on the gas pressure converter station in South Korea was configured in a detailed model form rather than a conventional model form. In addition to power sources such as fuel cells and TEG, energy storage systems (ESS), photovoltaics (PV), combined heat and power systems (CHP), and transformers and buses are configured, and loads are configured to observe various problems that can occur in each change. And the contingencies that can occur inside and outside the combined energy hub are simulated for the Turbo Expander Generator (TEG) to operate effectively in connection with the power *** fault locations of connected load and power generation facilities inside the combined energy hub are selected, and we observe the voltage change of each bus as the circuit breaker operates. In addition, as an external change, the increase in renewable energy and the voltage change due to transmission line contingencies were also observed. The analysis intends to establish a system analysis environment to check whether a problem occurs in terms of voltage and reactive power during the operation of future combined energy hubs.& COPY;2023 The Authors. This paper studies the control of a wind turbine connected system using permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) driven by a wind turbine and how to achieve the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) using nonlinear proportional-integral controller (NPIC), and also, such a controller permits the PMSG to operate at an optimal speed and high efficiency, especially by utilizing PMSG. This wind turbine is connected to the load by means of controlled rectifier. The controlled rectifier is used for transferring power to the load. A variable wind speed profile is used in such a system. This research looks into an investigation on the innovative optimum design of single degree of freedom system with and without viscous fluid damper. This kind of damper dissipates the mechanical energy of the building into heat energy. The majority of structures are susceptible to varying loads throughout time, resulting in vibration. This vibration in structural system may result from a wide variety of sources such as wind and seismic waves. A hybrid prediction approach for enhancing heat transfer efficiency of coal-fired power plant boiler

Predicting future fouling status is a crucial but tough topic in the applications of energy conservation and pollution reduction at coal-fired power plants because of the significant influence that ash slag has on the heat transfer efficiency of boilers in coal-fired power plants. For the prediction of gray areas in heated areas, a hybrid system based on complementary ensemble empirical modal decomposition, gray models, and long short-term memory networks is presented. This is because the time series of ash pollution degrees is not linear and not smooth. Initially, using a complementary ensemble empirical modal decomposition, the original sequence after wavelet threshold denoising is divided into a number of subseries components. The projected values for the cleanliness factor were then generated by superimposing the predictions from the IMF and residual components. The experimental findings support the model's precision and dependability and demonstrate that the CEEMD-GM-LSTM model does, in fact, perform very well in forecasting the ash situation in the heated zone.(c) 2023 The Author(s). With the development of smart distribution networks, the access of distribution generation (DG) presented new challenges to the operation and protection of power systems. Based on the hierarchical and modular structural ideas, this paper constructs a centralized distribution network protection system structure with a split layered architecture. The system improves protection accuracy and reliability through split protection, and achieves independent configuration, flexibility, fault isolation, information exchange and scalability. At the same time, protection efficiency is improved through hierarchical protection, hierarchical configuration, coordinated operation and rapid recovery are achieved to optimize power supply reliability. Under different fault scenarios, split and layered distribution network centralized protection is used to analyze the interaction process of random loads and intermittent distributed power sources on the active distribution network. Simulation results show that the architecture is effective and correct. © 2024 SPIE.
