Nowadays, IEEE 802.11 has become the most widely used standard for the wireless local area network (WLAN), and transport control protocol (TCP) is a dominant communication protocol in networks. Besides, the linear multi-hop networks are applied in various scenarios to overcome the limitations of communication range. This paper proposed a novel TCP throughput model for IEEE 802.11 linear multi-hop networks by analyzing distributed coordination function (DCF) and frame transmit queues. It is evaluated the effects of minimum contention window sizes on the throughput by mathematical analysis, and the optimal parameters for the best throughput performance are obtained. The validity of the model is verified through the simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.

Based on the silicon based 3D heterogeneous integration technology, we propose a silicon based SiP TR module. The TR module is stacked by two layers of silicon based modules. The silicon based modules are interconnected by metal solder balls. The TSV vertical interconnection structure is embedded the silicon based module, whose functions include numerical control phase shifting, numerical control attenuation, low noise amplification and power amplification. The test results show that the TR module has a single channel transmission power of more than 10W and a reception gain of more than 23dB in the Ku band. It has excellent RF performance and achieves the miniaturization of the TR module. © 2023 IEEE.

Annular gate MOSFETs have emerged as potential solutions for radiation-hardened electronics, demonstrating exceptional total ionizing dose tolerance. However, accurate modeling of annular MOSFETs is crucial when designing analog integrated circuits for use in radiation environments, especially when implementing commercial CMOS processes. To enable circuit simulation using tools like SPECTRE/SPICE, foundry-provided PDKs must incorporate a rigorously verified compact model of annular MOSFET behavior. TCAD simulation can then be used to numerically evaluate the current characteristics of the annular MOSFET against the refined compact model constructed from the foundry-provided PDK. In this paper, by aligning the current characteristics of a standard NMOS between TCAD and SPICE simulations, we can verify the material process conditions. Then, based on the material process parameters, the model of the annular gate MOSFET is established using the TCAD simulator. Finally, reasonable agreements are obtained between the TCAD and SPICE simulation results for the IDS-VGS and IDS-VDS characteristics. © 2023 IEEE.

A movable array of environmental sensors is intended for the feed-forward cancellation of the Newtonian noise generated by atmospheric density fluctuations and seismic displacements at the Virgo gravitational wave detector site, with the prospect of being used at the sites of future 3rd generation detectors. Each robot unit is equipped with a seismic sensor - optionally also a microphone and a magnetometer - for low-noise and low-frequency observations. The robots need to move autonomously in the experimental areas indoors, avoiding obstacles to reach the assigned positions where they start the data acquisition process. Then, the data will be transferred wirelessly to the control software that elaborates them and imparts to all robots the command to move to new optimal positions. Essential requirements of the system are accuracy in positioning and timing. The project is described highlighting the technical choices and their implementation.

The goal of this work is to model a dual loop controlled 3-level (3-L) neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter that is operating in grid-tied mode. The adopted control strategy includes voltage and current regulation in addition to a phase-locked-loop for synchronizing the grid's phase and frequency with that of the NPC inverter. The power source is configured to generate 1.3 MW AC power at 600 V from a 1.54 MW proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell (FC) stack that runs at 1400 V. The NPC inverter is fitted with an LCL filter that was positioned between the grid and the inverter to ensure that the amount of system harmonics is decreased. The arrangement also ensures that the inverter meets the required standards, such as the IEEE 519 & IEC 61000-3-6. Matlab (Simelectrical) is utilized for the modeling and simulation. In overall, the designed system performed excellently based on the observed simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.

Sustainability is a key factor in the context of smart cities. In smart cities, promoting sustainable energy is one strategy for achieving sustainability and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Different energy sources are needed to meet the need for affordable and dependable electrical energy, where the environmental impact typically outweighs the cost of generation. In order to increase sustainability in the electrical industry, smart cities are examined in this article. The methodological strategy for this involved conducting a systematic literature review utilizing the PRISMA procedure. 154 journal articles were examined in-depth for this review. Energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy and urban planning were the themes that the results were organized into. The results of the study showed that: (a) there is a global academic publication landscape for research on smart cities and energy sustainability;(b) publications are unbalanced when comparing the results of studies on the energy use intensity of different continents to those on the energy sustain ability of smart cities;and (c) there is a strong focus on technology-related issues related to energy sustainability, efficiency, and renewables topics in the literature, but much less attention is given to these issues. Urban and energy authorities are informed by the insights produced, and scholars are given ideas for future research directions. © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) was investigated in order to improve system performance and minimize prediction errors in power flow analysis. The usage of a Unified Power Flow controller (UPFC) in conjunction with ANNs was examined in order to increase system performance and error reduction. Although integrating UPFC with ANNs takes more time for power stabilization, we have seen improved results in terms of accuracy proportional to prediction error. Our results show that combining UPFC with ANN can give a superior solution for power flow analysis in power systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Based on the computer automatic control technology, this paper designs the energy efficiency optimization method for the traditional water-cooled central air conditioning host system. The chilled water control based on load prediction fuzzy control and the cooling water control based on adaptive fuzzy algorithm are used in the system, and the cooling water supply of the chiller is matched with the end load demand, and the cooling water system is running at maximum efficiency. Then on the basis of the single point fault tolerance design and the key points of energy-saving automatic control design, the design effect of HVAC system in data room is analyzed. Compared with PID control and single neural network reinforcement learning control, the total energy consumption of the system is reduced by 5.36% and 1.64%, and the total proportion of non-comfort time is reduced by 2.32% and 1.37%, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper is concerned with the cooperative consensus control of ESUs in grid-connected microgrid under a dynamic ETM. A second-order dynamic model for ESU system is constructed as a multi-agent system. By employing the emulation approach, a dynamic event-triggered scheme is designed to release the limited bandwidth. Based on the broadcasted states, a distributed cooperative control strategy is put forward. Based on the proposed control method, all ESUs could run at the same SOC and ratio of power. Finally, a numerical simulation example validates the effectiveness of the proposed method. ©2023 IEEE.

Microgrids are recognized as vital components to integrate renewable energy resources in future power systems. Distributed generators (DGs) are power electronics interfaced via converters to support the microgrids. Energy storage systems (ESS) can also provide energy for microgrids. The active and reactive power output of DGs can control the frequency and voltage of the microgrid. Droop control can reflect this control mechanism widely applied in power converters. This paper proposes an improved droop control mechanism for power converters to achieve better performance using the synergetic control-based algorithm. The proposed improved method can control the voltage magnitude and frequency to the nominal value. The convergence of improved control strategy is also given. Finally, the simulation results of two DGs are given to verify the improved method proposed in this paper. © 2023 IEEE.
