In order to meet the diversified storage requirements and improve the work safety and warehouse management level, a design of warehouse robot based on STM32 single chip computer is proposed. According to the functional requirements of the experimental environment, the corresponding mechanical structure is designed and the control hardware is selected. The sinusoidal speed regulation is used to control the speed of the robot in the process of starting and braking and to prevent the robot from producing too large shock due to the speed change too fast. At the same time, in order to solve the speed instability and deviation caused by unbalanced center of gravity and uneven distribution of ground friction coefficient, the CASADE PID algorithm of Angle ring and speed ring in series is used to control the motion. The experiment shows that the traveling speed of the robot can be flexibly set according to the actual demand, and the steady-state error between the actual speed and the preset speed is no more than 3%, and the real-time attitude adjustment can be carried out when the speed is stable, and the automatic correction can be made back to the preset trajectory when the deviation occurs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The advent of autonomous driving technology has spurred interest in autonomous vehicle platooning to enhance traffic efficiency and road safety. This research conducts a comparative analysis of two prominent control techniques, Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control and Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) control, in the context of autonomous vehicle platooning. The study aims to assess the significance of these control strategies in achieving and maintaining desired inter-vehicle distances and overall platoon coordination. The analysis considers several critical factors, including control performance, adaptability, robustness, and continuity, to comprehensively evaluate PID and LQR controllers. While PID controllers offer simplicity and ease of tuning, LQR controllers are known for their precision and optimization capabilities. The research investigates how these control methods perform in various scenarios, considering factors such as changing vehicle dynamics and external disturbances. In order to analyze the heat transfer performance of the active temperature control (ATC) system for machine tools, heat transfer and flow constraints are constructed and a heat current model of the ATC system pipe network is established on the basis of the entransy-dissipation-based thermal resistance (EDTR). With the aim of minimizing pump power, the model is combined to obtain the pump operating frequency and total flow rate for a given total heat transfer quantity. The working condition optimised parameters obtained from the model are entered into the simulation and analysis of temperature control board (TCB) heat transfer. The simulation results are similar to the trends obtained from the model. The model can provide a theoretical reference for economic working condition analysis of the ATC system and subsequent system pipework design. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Federated Learning (FL) has gained considerable attention for collaborative training in big data analysis, particularly in terms of privacy and communication constraints. Despite its promising advantages, FL faces the challenge of dealing with imbalanced label distribution on edge devices, which complicates the learning task. In literature, numerous studies have attempted to tackle this issue by introducing additional hyperparameters, which can complicate and prolong the process of model training and tuning. This complexity may potentially lead to overfitting and limited performance on new datasets. In this paper, we present a new Federated Learning framework called FedVC, which introduces virtual clients to minimize hyperparameter reliance. FedVC aims to bridge the gap between balanced and imbalanced label distribution. Compared with traditional federated learning frameworks, the proposed FedVC model designs a dynamically balanced dataset by utilizing virtual clients, which is proposed for the first time in this work. These virtual clients determine which part of the data should be used in one single training round and manage backpropagation timing for local real clients. The balanced dataset promotes greater stability in local models, thereby enhancing the overall stability of the training process. The experimental results show that FedVC outperforms classical FedAvg and the compared baseline methods for the data with imbalanced label distribution. Especially, FedVC exhibits more stable and accurate results than alternative approaches in highly heterogeneous settings. In the field of construction, the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology combined with computer vision offers a promising avenue for enhancing the quality control and intelligent monitoring of village and township construction projects. This paper introduces a novel approach that integrates BIM with advanced computer vision algorithms to automatically detect construction anomalies and assess quality in real time. Through this integration, the research deploys an experimental system across various construction phases, employing it to monitor adherence to BIM models and identify deviations. The findings reveal a significant improvement in error detection accuracy, substantially reducing the reliance on manual inspections and associated costs. Moreover, the system effectively provides project managers with continuous feedback and insights, thereby streamlining decision-making processes and ensuring compliance with construction standards. Conclusively, this research demonstrates the potential of combining BIM and computer vision technologies to revolutionize construction management practices, marking a step forward in the pursuit of more efficient and high-quality construction processes. © 2025 SPIE.

In all organizations, attendance monitoring is essential for monitoring student performance, and checking whether every student is present or not is not easy. Each organization takes attendance manually like calling with their registration numbers or student names and noting it in attendance records given by the school/college principal as a proof of attendance. Ultra-Wideband Technology has garnered a reputation as an enabler of advancing industrial automation and robotics applications. UWB sensors emit short pulses of electromagnetic radiation to measure and can deliver highly accurate and real-time data over long distances. Compared to other sensing technologies, UWB sensors have a remarkably broad frequency spectrum and provide high data rates at low power. There are several advantages of UWB sensors implemented in industrial automation and robotics. These are done in a lab with some reference;you can take the data offline. UWB sensors can complement and be used in integration with other technologies, such as lidar or vision systems, to achieve higher performance results for a complete perception of the environment. This allows better and more efficient decision-making for autonomous systems. UWB sensors deliver highly accurate and repeatable measurements for robotic movement monitoring and control. They are also used for asset monitoring and inventory control, which finally help logistics & SCM. UWB sensors also improve workplace safety by warning about potential collisions or other hazardous conditions. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper explores the advantages of employing a selective relay selection method compared to a random relay selection approach in millimeter-wave (mmWave) networks assisted by amplify-and-forward (AF) relays, featuring two source-destination pairs and two relays. The investigation includes an analysis of the outage probability associated with the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for users under both relay selection strategies in a log-normal shadowing channel. The proposed relay selection technique has been incorporated into relay-assisted mmWave networks, considering the shadowing effects caused by blockages.
