This paper discusses FPGA-based power sharing control of a solar PV-powered low-voltage DC (LVDC) nanogrid. The proposed LVDC nanogrid control algorithm monitors power generation, storage, and load power and shifts between sources and load to maintain power balance. The controller effectiveness is studied for varying input and varying load conditions via simulation studies and hardware implementation. A proposed system simulation model with a control algorithm is built into MATLAB and performance analysis is carried out. The power sharing control algorithm and MPPT algorithm are built using Xilinx blocks in MATLAB and programmed into FPGA controller Furthermore, experimentation is carried out on the proposed model to validate the simulation results. Hardware results obtained under different atmospheric and load conditions are presented and discussed. (c) 2023 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier Ltd. The development and integration of information technology will make the data of the integrated energy system more real-time and transparent, which will help improve the demand-side management of Integrated Energy Systems (IES). For the demand side of IES, the Cyber-Physical-Social System (CPSS) architecture is constructed and analyzed. An interactive energy management method of CPSS is presented to cover supply-demand interaction and real-virtual interaction. Aiming at the social attributes of power users, the demand-side guidance control strategy mediated by network guidance information is proposed. The impact of the difference in electricity price on the consumption psychology of the users is considered. Simulations of the model are conducted. The results show that the CPSS architecture proposed in this paper can effectively improve the economic benefits of the integrated energy system and make power users actively participate in the CPSS integrated energy system. © 2023 IEEE.

An essential instrument for the operation of a power system is to monitor and analyze the data to find the fault and rectify it before the System collapses completely. This paper intents to utilize the idea to create a control system that will fulfill three objectives, monitoring of vital parameters controlling the power distribution, outage management by fault detection based on the variation of voltage, frequency, and current & protection of the circuit against any significant incidents by isolating the load from utility and flagging the information through feedback to the utility authority. The method used in this project can provide necessary safety from total system outages by adequately monitoring the instant data and historic data, managing the outage system by detecting faults, and cutting loads required to avoid a widespread blackout of a power system. Implementation of the proposed project can solve the problem of system blackout due to overload, under/over voltage, or under/over frequency. This developed system can supply necessary timestamped monitored data that can be accessed remotely and can also archive to create a proper load profile to ultimately help the modeling of Load Forecasting for a smooth and economic grid operation and can be used for developing the Smart Grid network. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the problem that the brushless DC motor will produce large torque ripple during commutation, a torque ripple suppression strategy based on finite set model predictive control (FS-MPC) is proposed in this paper. According to the current waveform conditions at different speeds, an appropriate alternative switching tube conduction state is inserted during commutation. By bringing the conduction state of the alternative switching tube into the prediction model, the current magnitude of the motor at the next moment is predicted. The value function is used to select the appropriate switching tube state, so that the current fluctuation can be minimized during commutation, thereby reducing the torque ripple. And on this basis, a new method for determining the commutation time is proposed. By taking the moment when the Hall signal changes as the commutation start time, the motor parameters are calculated using the formula to obtain the commutation time length, and then the commutation time length is delayed to finally determine the commutation interval. After simulation analysis and verification, it is shown that this method can achieve a good torque ripple suppression effect in both high-speed and low-speed stages. © 2023 IEEE.

It is well known that changing the frequency affects the current distribution in antenna structures. While these changes may be slight, they have a direct impact on the sparse wire grid structures generated by applying the Optimal Current Grid Approximation and its modifications to the original wire grid structure. This paper analyzes this influence on the design of an S-band reflector antenna. The solid metallic structure is approximated by a wire grid, and the antenna characteristics obtained for the wire grid are compared with the measured results for the solid metal prototype, showing good agreement. Using the current distribution at various frequencies, different sparse structures were generated and compared. The analysis reveals that the sparse structure derived from the lowest frequency exhibits the smallest deviation in characteristics when compared to the original structure. Furthermore, a comparison of the different approaches used to generate these sparse structures highlights the strengths and weaknesses of each one. This study provides manufacturers with valuable data for selecting appropriate frequencies and approaches to create sparse structures that meet specific design requirements. © 2024 IEEE.

This research paper presents the current and voltage level of an inverter interfaced multi-location distributed generation (DG) based power system under fault and pre-fault scenarios. The DG system simple comprises photo-voltaic cells in integration with voltage source converter (VSC). The integration of the PV based DG system with existing grid is done through current control mode of the PV set. The fault current level of a conventional grid is normally 8 to 10 times of the rated current. In inverter interfaced electrical grid, the fault current restricted to 2 to 3 times of the rated current which may lead to mal operation of the installed relay. This research assignment focuses over voltage and current level at different location of an inverter interfaced grid under a symmetric L-L-L fault scenario. The suggested current controller has anticipated a PI control scheme for making necessary control action in DG set. Since, the grid rating is high as compared to each individual DG, the major contribution for the fault current is shared by the utility grid. Finally, it is also observed that the fault current level is restricted below 3 times of the rated current due to penetration of VSC based inverter. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper analyzes the performance of a multi-port DC-DC converter in hybrid Renewable Energy Source (RES) applications. In the hybrid source integrations, the challenging role for the controller is to choose the appropriate source based on its availability;thus, performing a promising job for the energy management system. In that way, the mode selection still remains a complicated concept for the design engineers due to the fact that involves in detailed learning and prediction algorithm. This paper is one among the kind in designing a Machine Learning (ML) algorithm for mode selection and control of hybrid RES system. In this article, an extendable DC-DC converter is considered with multi-port capability on the source side with battery back-up. The operation of the converter in different modes will be decided by the ML algorithm. The performance analysis of the proposed technique is conducted in Hardware-In-Loop fashion, where the ML logic is developed in Matlab and integrated with experimental hardware using dSPACE-MicroLabBox. The mode selection and operational features with the proposed technique are validated with simulation and experimental results as well. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the difficulty of concentration prediction caused by the intermittency and non-stationarity of dissolved gas concentration in oil in oil-immersed transformers, a gas concentration prediction model based on the combination of variational modal decomposition (VMD) and gated recurrent unit (GRU) is proposed. Firstly, the real-time data singularities are processed by Teager energy operator and so on;then the VMD parameters are optimized by using the beluga whale optimization (BWO), and the data are decomposed by using the BWO-VMD to obtain a set of smoothed components;the components are processed by noise reduction through the improved wavelet thresholding noise reduction (IWTD) algorithm;and finally, the prediction of components is reconstructed by using the GRU. By simulating the prediction of H2 content in oil-immersed transformers and comparing with other algorithms, it is concluded that the proposed prediction model has an average absolute percent error (MAPE) of 1.16%, a root mean square error (RMSE) of 0.47 L/L, and a coefficient of determination R^2 of 0.996, which effectively improves the prediction accuracy. The reliability of the model was proved. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a phase-locked loop (PLL) free robust control scheme for a single stage three-phase grid-interfaced photovoltaic (GIPV) system that does not requires a dedicated synchronization unit. Under the harmonically distorted grid voltages caused by nonlinear load the proposed control scheme utilizes an enhanced proportional multi-resonant (EPMR) current controller to effectively address the issue of grid current harmonics. The computational burden on the digital controller of the GCPV system reduces due to the elimination of a dedicated synchronization unit (PLL) in the proposed robust control scheme. The efficacy of the proposed robust control scheme is verified by experimentation in various grid scenarios, including situations with distorted grid voltages and changes in grid frequency. Moreover, a modified incremental conductance (MINC) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is employed to minimize power fluctuations, especially when encountering rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. To assess the efficiency of the proposed robust control scheme, OPAL-RT simulator is employed. © 2023 IEEE.

In view of the impact and influence of grid-connected distributed energy on power system, this paper studies the capacity optimization of microgrid. First of all, this paper introduces non-cooperative game theory to build a capacity optimization model of microgrid based on non-cooperative game. Then, the whale optimization algorithm is used to configure the capacity of each game player. Finally, using the historical data of a certain region for analysis, the results show that compared with the single stakeholder optimization method, the photovoltaic power station and energy storage system revenue increased by 9% and 2.5%, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.
