With the application of Internet technologies in the industrial field, industrial control systems (ICS) have the possibility of suffering malicious network attacks. Because ICS is widely used in critical infrastructure, designing attack detection algorithms for it can effectively reduce losses. Many papers have built physical models for cyber-attacks against ICS and the corresponding detection algorithms have been proposed. However, the detection performance can be further improved. This paper establishes the simulation attack on the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process and proposes an improved support vector machine (SVM) method to detect integrity attacks. This algorithm uses contribution plots and recursive feature elimination to select features. Compared with the principal component analysis (PCA) feature extraction, the detection accuracy is improved. After adding system dynamics to the algorithm, the time to detect attacks is advanced. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to improve the performance of traditional SOM model, an adaptive SOM neural network algorithm is proposed. By introducing the error square sum solution formula, the clustering error of the model sub-data set is calculated by using the method of cutting the data set, and the change trend of the clustering error is quickly obtained. Then the learning rate of the SOM network is adaptively adjusted according to this, and the convergence speed is accelerated on the basis of ensuring that the network is fully trained, thereby improving the performance of the SOM network. © 2023 SPIE.

Good pantograph catenary relationship the guarantee of a safe power supply catenary system, the parameter accuracy, and the error correction degree of its geometric parameters (pull-out value and guiding height) are the premise to measuring the safety of pantograph catenary system. The model is changeable in dynamic geometric parameter detection, complex structure, and high distortion. First, a data fusion error control method is adopted, and the adaptive fuzzy control theory of pantograph catenary system operation is combined, from model building, data sampling, and adaptive control strategy. Second, the distortion model of pantograph catenary system geometric parameters in operation is corrected, and fuzzy control theory is used to find the minimum mean square error of geometric parameters from constraint sets. Verified by MATLAB simulation, the control strategy can effectively detect and correct the dynamic geometric parameters of the pantograph catenary system in real-time, ensuring normal and safe operation of train operation. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper studies the passive localization and control of two-dimensional planar UAV swarm under velocity information and azimuth information. We propose a UAV swarm control algorithm based on azimuth information and velocity information. This paper establishes a positioning model through azimuth information. On this basis, the IMU information is fused for attitude calculation. Moreover, the inertial navigation positioning is established by using the attitude angle and velocity information, so as to explore and use the optimal estimation theory. Through Kalman filter technology, the Gaussian noise interference in UAV positioning is greatly eliminated, and the positioning algorithm of UAV swarm is established. In addition, using the azimuth information, the particle swarm optimization is used for path planning, and the target path planning results with higher accuracy are obtained. Through computer simulation analysis, the algorithm has the characteristics of high positioning accuracy and fast iteration speed. The algorithm can better meet the practical engineering application requirements. © 2023 SPIE.

Adopting distance learning with a high level of quality in universities and educational institutions is a real challenge. Therefore, several studies and organizations have provided different standards to evaluate the quality of long-distance and to measure the obstacles. This study examines the quality obstacles of the long-distance learning techniques applied at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Benghazi, Libya. The British Quality Assurance Agency (BQAA) standards are utilized and presented as a questionnaire to the students at the faculty. The total participant number is 223 respondents. The study findings show that the students face severe challenges in all categories of the BQAA of technical, social, and organizational obstacles. The level of challenges is represented in the negativity of the response 69.1%, 60.1%, and 59.44% of the determined categories. © 2023 IEEE.

The inverted pendulum cart system (IPCS) be similar to number of real-world systems such as transport vehicles, spacecraft and medical fields equipment's robots and many more, however it is a traditional problem for the control engineers as it is highly non-linear with more than one equilibrium points. Therefore, the paper investigates a fuzzy logic controller to control cart position while maintaining the balance of an inverted pendulum. Furthermore, the length of inverted pendulum is varied and the performance is evaluated under both controllers' application simultaneously. The performances of both controllers are compared with number of error indices such as Root mean square error (RMSE), Integral square error (ISE), Integral time square error (ITSE), Integral absolute error (IAE) and Integral time absolute error (ITAE). The fuzzy controlled system shows better results as compared with the classical control approach with PID controller in terms of settling time, rise time, overshoot and undershoot under MATLAB/Simulink environment. © 2023 IEEE.

Persons with Disabilities (PWD), specifically, the bedridden person incapable of controlling certain appliances or devices to continue with their daily life which they struggle with. The need for assistive technology arises nowadays, for which artificial intelligence has become valuable and prominent. The implementation of different pattern recognition algorithms is applied to various applications. This paper discusses using the Tobii Eye tracker algorithm to control the appliances with an Arduino with an infrared emitter and relays. In this paper, the measurement of the system response time as a variable leads the parameter of such different calculations. The sample of data was collected at varying head angles of inclination with also varying distances relative to the monitor. The P-values gathered were 0.11947, 0.287368, and 0.120036 at distances of 30 cm, 40cm, and 60 cm, respectively. From the data, it is found that at a level of significance of 0.05, which indicates the system is accurate, leading to not rejecting the null hypothesis that there is a variance in the mean of samples. © 2023 IEEE.

This study emphasizes grid-connected solar photovoltaic systems and fuzzy controllers to optimize the duty cycle of the DC-DC converter and separate the essential components from load current and produce firing signals for voltage source converter operation. The power demand requirement and minimize power quality problems at the common point of coupling were ensured by a fuzzy-based MPPT used to change the duty cycle of the controller and extract the fundamental signals based on the fuzzy similarity index under variable irradiance and ambient temperature conditions. The control approach was applied to a PV system feeding both linear and non-linear loads connected to the grid. The simulation results show a considerable improvement in the performance of the control strategy in mitigating the harmonic disturbances in the system and were inconsist with the requirements of IEEE-519. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, with the increasing attention from the international Maritime Organization and governments worldwide on ship fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, the advantages of integrating solar energy as the main or auxiliary power source for ships have become increasingly prominent. To tackle these problems, the article proposes the integration of Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) technology into the design of the ship's PV grid inverter control strategy. The hardware parameter adjustment and model construction for the VSG grid-connected inverter are carried out. By combining the basic principles of synchronous generators, a simulation model of the ship's synchronous generator unit is constructed, and an overall model of the PV-ship energy distribution network is established. The operating conditions of the ship's PV grid system under different conditions are analyzed. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed inverter control strategy can effectively enhance the stability and dispatchability of the grid-connected system with PV energy. © 2023 IEEE.

With the increase of energy storage stations, fire accidents in lithium battery energy storage compartments occur frequently, seriously threatening the stable operation of the power system and the safety of personnel. To solve the danger of manual fire extinguishing, a visual SLAM based fire extinguishing robot for energy storage stations has been designed. In response to the environment of the energy storage station, the main structure and firefighting operation mechanism of the robot have been designed to ensure that the robot can smoothly carry out firefighting operations at the energy storage station. Explored the characteristics of lithium-ion battery fires and the laws of thermal runaway, analyzed the fire extinguishing mechanism of liquid nitrogen, and found that using liquid nitrogen as a fire extinguishing agent has a good inhibitory effect on lithium-ion battery fires. In order to achieve efficient fire extinguishing, and due to the limited liquid nitrogen capacity that robots can carry, a fast autonomous positioning and mapping (SLAM) fire extinguishing strategy for energy storage power plant fire extinguishing robots in unknown environments was designed to ensure maximum utilization of liquid nitrogen. Simulation experiments were conducted on this fire extinguishing strategy, and the results showed that it can extinguish open flames within 10 seconds, effectively suppress the spread of battery thermal runaway, and control the concentration of combustible gases in the cabin beyond the explosion limit. The fire extinguishing robot and extinguishing strategy have a significant inhibitory effect on lithium battery fires in energy storage stations. © 2024 IEEE.
