para>In order to address the increasing complexity of the urban logistics and distribution environment, a novel cooperative delivery model of trucks and UAVs was proposed, aiming to improve the efficiency of logistics and distribution, reduce the economic loss caused by untimely delivery, and meanwhile solve the problems of short distribution distance and insufficient range capacity in the UAV logistics industry. K-means clustering algorithm was utilized to determine the truck distribution points, and genetic algorithm was applied to solve the problem of the shortest driving distance under the cooperative distribution model. Through numerical experiments, it was verified that the proposed method featured favorable distribution performance with faster delivery speed and less time consumption. The research provided future development of urban logistics and distribution with regard to novel ideas and methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Performance evaluation for image quality assessment plays a very vital role in digital image watermarking. The main objective of this paper is to study the process of statistical analysis of image quality metrics for performance evaluation testing in digital image watermarking. This review gives the basic idea of statistical method ANOVA, which will help the researchers to assess the quality of their methods not only related to image watermarking but also to different fields of research of their own interests. The comprehensive study on some existing methods is also presented in this paper to show the effectiveness as well as the limitations of the performance evaluation metrics in the domain of digital image watermarking. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents an IGBT open-circuit fault-tolerant control strategy for five-level nested neutral point pilot converters. IGBT open-circuit fault diagnosis and localization can be achieved by detecting and comparing the actual output voltages and floating capacitor voltages with their predicted values, which are based on the optimal output switching states and capacitor charging and discharging states within a sampling period. The K-nearest neighbor algorithm is used to discriminate between true and false faults. After detecting the faulty IGBT, a fault-tolerant control process is implemented based on the SVPWM method. To ensure the fault-tolerant operation of the converter, the space voltage vectors associated with the faulty IGBT are removed. The effectiveness of the proposed fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control strategy is confirmed by simulation results on the five-level NNPP converter. © 2023 IEEE.

The traditional recognition methods of wheel hubs are mainly based on extracted feature matching. In practical production, their accuracy, robustness and processing speed are usually greatly affected. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes a recognition method based on convolutional neural network. The basic steps include two parts: wheel image pre-processing and wheel model classification. The image processing method, mainly using the detection algorithm of hough circles, obtains the center coordinates and radius of the wheel. Then it maps the ring-shaped wheel in right-angle coordinates to polar coordinates by the center coordinates and radius. This stepcan extract the ring-shaped feature information of the wheel image and reduce the influence generated by redundant features. Then a network architecture with an improved Resnet is designed to classify the wheel models. Finally, the wheel model recognition algorithm is evaluated, and the effectiveness of the method is verified through the comparison experiments of SVM, KNN and other models. The experiments show that the recognition accuracy can reach about 99.8% for 10 kinds of wheels. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to alleviate the increasingly serious urban traffic congestion, a signal control scheme based on the characteristics of congestion development was proposed. The traffic flow prediction model is established based on the Cellular Automata (CA) model. The micro change law of the road network traffic flow was described, and the development characteristics of traffic congestion were predicted in real time. Signal control strategies under different congestion characteristics were obtained after research to prevent traffic congestion. The road network formed by the intersection of Xiyuan Road and Chang'an Road in Luoyang and the surrounding associated intersections was taken as a case, and the Simulink platform was used to build a simulation environment. The signal control scheme in this paper was simulated together with fixed signal control and self-organizing signal control. The results show that: after adopting this scheme, the traffic operation indicators of the road network are significantly improved;The development of congestion is effectively controlled;The ability to balance traffic load is significantly improved. © 2023 SPIE.

Learning assisted column generation for model predictive control based energy management in microgrids

Model predictive control is an effective approach for microgrid energy management. However, the main downside of such method is its expensive online computational cost, which is not amenable to most practical microgrid implementations. To address this issue, we propose a deep neural network assisted column generation approach that can accelerate the solution procedure of model predictive control. In each iteration, our approach leverages different deep neural networks to predict the optimal solutions of all the subproblems in column generation, which can accelerate the computation of all the subproblems and the entire process of column generation. The pre-existing knowledge of the microgrid is also exploited to guarantee the feasibility of the neural network outputs using multi-parametric programming theory. The numerical results show that our approach leads to a reduction in computational time of approximately 50% in a medium-sized microgrid compared with the full mixed integer solution based on traditional branch and bound method, while the optimality loss is only 0.02% in terms of operating costs.(c) 2023 The Author(s). Predictive Functional control (PFC) serves as a pivotal bridge between the intricate Model Predictive control (MPC) and PI(D)-based control paradigms. Characterized as a simplified MPC leveraging predictive techniques, PFC is designed for implementation with basic software and cost-effective hardware. However, the traditional PFC technique exhibits limitations in situations marked by significant disturbances. Addressing this, a feedforward compensation loop is proposed for instant disturbance rejection. In this context, the Extended State Observer (ESO) and Sliding-Mode Observer (SMO) emerge as promising observers. This work evaluates the PFC approach by employing ESO and SMO as disturbance estimators in the control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs). PMSMs, renowned for nonlinearity and uncertainty, pose challenges to control methodologies. The observers assess the lumped disturbance of the controlled plant, utilizing state feedback to achieve optimal control performance. The paper concludes with a comprehensive comparison of simulation results to identify the most suitable option for the specific application. This research contributes valuable insights to enhance control strategies for PMSMs in the presence of disturbances, with implications for practical implementation. © 2023 IEEE.

It is impossible to overestimate the importance of remotely monitoring industrial facilities in the context of the Industrial Internet of Things. The goal of this line of research is to improve remote monitoring by using real-time data analytics, predictive maintenance, and energy optimization with a tiny Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) system. The three most important algorithms are an energy optimization method using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, a predictive maintenance strategy based on machine learning models, and a real-time data streaming and analysis tool. The proposed method is said to be able to use these algorithms in real time, which enables it to schedule preventive maintenance, identify anomalies, and use energy effectively. Effective, sustainable, and data-driven plant management support should be expected to result in minimal downtime, lower operating costs, and ecologically conscious operations. © 2023 IEEE.

There has always been ambiguity in the understanding of human error levels among controllers, and the setting and conversion of daily duty modes are mainly based on empirical judgment, which leads to waste of human resources and unreasonable risk management in dynamic flight flow changes. Based on the flow information within the approach control zone and the probability of human error under different duty modes, a dynamic management strategy for controller team resources has been designed, which can optimize the use of human resources while effectively controlling risks. The effectiveness of human resource management strategies was verified through numerical simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

Multi-port electric energy router is a device that can achieve energy multi-directional routing and active control of power flow. It can dispatch energy from various energy ports such as wind, solar, generator, and electric battery, and coordinate control with load ports. At the same time, it can meet capacity requirements by connecting power routers in series and parallel according to the actual needs of users. However, the external environment makes various loads have different requirements for power quality. How to achieve collaborative control between multiple ports of power electronic transformers, ensure user power supply quality, and achieve coordinated and stable operation between source and load is an urgent problem to be solved. The article summarizes the development history and latest progress of multi-port power routers, elaborates and analyzes their basic composition and characteristics, and then summarizes the key technologies in the development of multi-port power routers from the aspects of port composition, low voltage ride through, fault port isolation, etc. It also looks forward to the research direction and focus of multi-port power routers. © 2023 IEEE.
