The medical field and other research areas fields heavily rely on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Hand gesture recognition (HGR), which is a straightforward approach for interacting with machines, has drawn the attention of numerous researchers in the context of AI. Utilizing ML technique, HGR is carried out. Both the image technique and the design approach are parts of it. In the image technique, the hand picture is rebuilt utilizing the attributes of the images. However, when using the model-based approach, the image is recreated using many models, including volumetric, geometric, and others. The key difficulty in gesture control continues to be the ML individual's complexity and preparation time. Its accuracy is used to assess the HGR accuracy. Its precision is used to assess the HGR overall system performance. The many techniques and algorithms utilized in gesture control are covered in detail inside this work. © 2023 IEEE.

During the operation and maintenance of power distribution grid, it is necessary to use the drain wire to ensure the stability and continuity of the power supply. The accurate identification, positioning and wire-hanging clip operation are directly crucial to the drain wire connection. In this paper, a method of hooking up drain wire clip based on visual servo control is proposed, which is applied to the live working robot to fulfil the operation of connecting drain wire. Firstly, a cable is identified by the improved YOLOX-S object detection algorithm. Then, a binocular camera is used to obtain the accurate three-dimensional coordinate information of the cable, and the coordinate system is converted to obtain the cable position in the coordinate system where the clip is viewed as the origin. Finally, based on the clip size model, the optimal initial hanging height and appropriate hanging path are analyzed, and a fuzzy controller is used to precisely control the robot's operation of hooking up drain wire clip. Experiments show that the method proposed in this paper can quickly and accurately identify and locate power distribution grid cable, and precisely control the robot's operation of connecting the drain wire clip. © 2023 IEEE.

Renewable energy sources (RESs) are getting prominence due to the scarcity of fossil fuels. On the other hand, most RESs are connected to the grid through inverters or converters, which are power electronic interfaces. Utilizing converters and inverters will significantly decrease the power system's inertia due to the absence of rotating mass. As a result, the use of advanced technologies to achieve and maintain frequency stability is essential in power systems. This work proposes two new control coordination i) virtual inertia and ii) superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) of load frequency control (LFC) along with a PI controller. Since SMES technology and virtual inertia are both effective energy storage systems and frequency stabilizers, respectively, this research develops two controllers to emulate inertia utilizing SMES. The mathematical model is developed to facilitate control design and implementation in simulation platform. The developed techniques show better performance in reducing the frequency deviation of highly RESs integrated system. Three loads are considered in this study to check the stability and effectiveness of the proposed control coordination. Determining the best approach by analyzing the two controllers individual outputs is one of this work's main purposes. © 2023 IEEE.

In this manuscript, a newly developed high voltage gain DC-DC converter is considered for application oriented research on variable speed AC drives. The induction machine is modeled in generalized synchronous rotating reference frame. Conventional sine and space vector pulse width modulation strategies available in the literature are chosen in the present work for generating pulses for three-phase inverter. The performance analysis of high-gain DC-DC Converter fed to inverter driven induction motor using MATLAB/Simulink 2023a environment with tabulated results. Extensive simulations are performed on two critical case studies to compare & validate that proposed strategy. © 2023 IEEE.

Network reconfiguration is one of the methods used for power loss reduction in distribution network by altering the close/open position of Tie/Sectionalizing switches without interruption of power to all loads. The other methods used are placing of distribution generators and connecting capacitors. The best results are obtained when all the three are used simultaneously using grey wolf algorithm which is a recent evolutionary algorithm which gives the place of connection and values of capacitor and distribution generators along with sectionalizing switches which are to be opened. This algorithm was implemented for a standard 33 and 69 bus distribution system in a MATLAB environment for comparing with other algorithms with constraints. This algorithm has good exploration (new search) and exploitation (thorough local search) potential for application in many power system optimization problems. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Electrocardiograms, or ECGs, are used by medical professionals to identify whether or not a patient has been experiencing myocardial infarction. In the medical field, myocardial injury detection procedures are not usually automated. A deep learning-based model can automate this manual procedure. The proposed model is a deep learning-based predictive model capable of detecting myocardial infarction from 15 ECG leads. The PTB database was used in this model. This database contains data from 15 ECG leads, which include 12 standard leads and 3 frank leads. The objective of the work is to identify MI with high and stable accuracy, F1 score, precision, and recall using an imbalanced PTB dataset. The proposed model is a combination of the dilated CNN(ConvNetQuake) and an LSTM network. The validation F1 score, precision, recall, and accuracy for the model are 1.0, 1.0, 1.0 and 100%, respectively. Regarding the test set, the F1 score, precision, recall, and accuracy for the model are 0.94, 0.88, 1.0 and 97.7%, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

In view of the traditional ant colony algorithm in the mobile robot path planning in slow convergence speed, easy to trap into local optimum and weak dynamic programming problem, an improved ant colony algorithm fusion dynamic window approach (DWA) path planning method was proposed. Firstly, the heuristic function and pheromone update method were optimized to improve the path search ability. Secondly, the adaptive evaporation factor update strategy was introduced to dynamically adjust it, accelerate the convergence speed and search rate of the algorithm, and realize the global path planning of the mobile robot. Then, the improved ant colony algorithm was integrated with DWA to enhance the local dynamic obstacle avoidance ability of the robot. Finally, the redundant point deletion strategy and the secondary polyline optimization were used to effectively reduce the path turning point and improve the smoothness. The simulation results show that the improved fusion algorithm has improved convergence speed, path length and path smoothness, and can effectively avoid static and dynamic obstacles. © 2023 IEEE.

In the present work, a Squirrel Search Algorithm-based PID controller is suggested for load frequency control of three area hybrid power systems consisting of thermal and hydro unit in area-l, wind and thermal unit in area-2, and diesel and thermal in area-3. Proportional integral and derivative (PID) controllers installed in each area have been optimally tuned to maintain the variation in frequency and tie-line power deviation within the schedule limits considering the effect of generation rate constraints. Two different cases have been investigated, in case-l GRC effect has not been considered and in case 2, the GRC effect has been included. Three intelligent optimization techniques named Squirrel search algorithm (SSA), Firefly algorithm, and Gravitational Search algorithm (GSA) have been implemented to obtain the optimazied gains of the PID controllers. © 2023 IEEE.

In this work, the investigation's goal is to conduct experiments and simulations on the existing gear pump test rig setup. The various parameters are set and observed in the first section of the investigation. Calculations are done using these numbers to obtain the other testing results. Another section simulates 2-D fluid flow over an external gear pump and contrasts the findings of the experiment with the flow rate and efficiency at various discharge pressures. This study provides a clear understanding of the external gear pump's numerical analysis as well as its actual analysis. For each discharge pressure at the end, a prediction of pressure at various locations within the pump's fluid domain was made. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
