The inverter stage of MMC-type power electronic transformer (PET) has more electronic devices, the probability of bridge arm failure is high, and the power quality of the inverter stage is susceptible to be affected due to the presence of factors such as nonlinear loads in the power grid. In order to improve the power quality of the inverter stage of MMC-type power electronic transformer, this paper proposes a FCS-MPC control strategy based on the fault-tolerant inverter stage of MMC-PET. First, a fault-tolerant structure is designed in the MMC-PET inverter stage to realize fault-tolerant operation under the fault condition of single-phase bridge arm;a nonlinear proportional-integral controller is introduced into the outer loop of the voltage in the control part to improve the signal tracking and disturbance suppression ability;the inner loop of the current is constructed based on the reference voltage to construct the cost function and introduce the constraints on the dc-side capacitance voltage and the switching frequency, and the FCS-MPC control strategy is designed to improve the power quality. The FCS-MPC control strategy is designed to improve the power quality. Secondly, a double closed-loop controller with MMC at the input stage is designed, and phase-shifted voltage equalization control is used at the intermediate stage to stabilize the DC voltage. Finally, the MMC-PET simulation model is constructed, and the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control strategy is verified by simulation and experiment. © 2023 IEEE.

Health safety is always one of the key concerns for human lives. During this current pandemic, people have become more aware of this fact and have started following different precautions. In this paper, we have discussed a prototype of a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly disinfection chamber that can help to solve the public health risk that was brought to our attention. Currently, power generation costs have also increased due to inflation and fuel price hikes. There is a lack of power supply for that. To ensure the proper demand for power, the whole world focused on renewable energy. While developing the prototype, we tried to use the widely available resources in our local market so that it reduces the cost as well as can be easily repairable and upgradeable. Although we have used solar panels in the system, due to the portability and availability of power, we have also used a battery system which can supply power to the chamber for over 8 hours. We also discussed a few future works on the proposed system, with a focus on solar system improvement. © 2023 IEEE.

Automation, in general, facilitates thecontrol of different types of processes;its result allows high-qualityproducts. The development of this research is based on the effect ofglobalization, which has led farmers to opt for IoT and automation in the plantedarea. This work presents a control and monitoring system using a mobileapplication developed in App inventor that allows visualizing the data fromanywhere. The data obtained are the environmental temperature and the humidityof the soil, and the irrigation is controlled through a pump. The system isbased on an ESP32 board and the ThingSpeak platform. The programmingincorporates two control modes, manual and automatic;in the second case, acontrol with hysteresis is activated to maintain a range of humidity in thegrow bed. The results show measurements of the variables and the scores of anevaluation carried out by the user that allows validation of this proposal. © 2023 IEEE.

With the dense development of power network and the progress of flexible transmission technology, the problem of short-circuit current overshoots are beginning to emerge. In this paper, the development trend and limitation measures of short-circuit current in domestic and foreign power grids are analyzed, and the short-circuit current levels in different development stages are summarized. Furthermore, the factors that affect the short-circuit current level are analyzed, and a calculation method of short-circuit current with flexible DC is proposed. Finally, new types of short-circuit current limiting devices that limit the level of short-circuit current are introduced. © 2023 SPIE.

para> Telemetry wave channel is an important content of the top-level design of satellite telemetry format, and the reasonableness of its design determines the utilization rate of satellite telemetry capacity, which will also directly affect the effectiveness of on-orbit satellite state monitoring. The traditional satellite telemetry channel design suffers from the problems of time-consuming and iterative design, etc. Meanwhile, the repetitive design workload is large, which also easily leads to the mentality fatigue, thus increasing the risk of design errors. In order to solve the above problems, this paper digitizes the design constraints of telemetry channels, and adopts a digital design method based on model system engineering to realize a design method that takes into account the overall design efficiency and design rules, and verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the method from three aspects including design time-consuming, design time consumption, and first design compliance rate as well. © 2023 IEEE.

The automobile battery voltage will fluctuate greatly due to cold start and load dumping, which will lead to a large change in the voltage of the downstream direct current to direct current (DC-DC) converter. In order to quickly respond to it and ensure stable output voltage of the automotive supply system, a wide input buck DC-DC converter based on peak current mode control was designed. The buck DC-DC converter utilized the feed-forward path inherent in the mode control for fast transient response to input voltage fluctuations. In order to get a stable output, the factors affecting the linear regulation were analyzed, and two ways to optimize the linear regulation were obtained. On the one hand, improving the power supply rejection ratio of bandgap reference circuit under low frequency condition;On the other hand, designing a piecewise slope compensation circuit, which did not compensate when the duty cycle was less than 0.35, and the compensation slope changed linearly with the output voltage when the duty cycle was greater than 0.35. The chip was fabricated by 0.18 um 100V BCD process. The simulation results showed that the linear regulation of DC-DC converter was as low as 0.0018 %/V under the input voltage ranging from 4.5 V to 80 V and the temperature of 25 °C, which meet the requirements of stable output voltage in a wide input voltage range. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a predictive current control (PCC) scheme for two inverters (2-level) fed open-end winding induction motor drives (OEWIMD) with equal DC-link voltages, which realises the 3-level operation. The predictive current control method typically analyses all 19 possible voltage vectors (VVs) to choose the most suitable voltage vector. As indicated in this article, for an improvised PCC, switch the two inverters so that the one with the lower DC input voltage is shorted out. In the proposed PCC's evaluation of only four potential VV candidates, finding the suitable voltage vector is one of the essential aspects. The simulation outcomes say that the suggested PCC technique shows better results than the conventional PCC like ripple in steady state torque, flux ripple and total harmonic distortion (THD) of phase-voltage and current. The computational load on the controller is also lessened because of the proposed PCC. Furthermore, since the proposed PCC technique has a built-in mechanism to limit switching frequency, adding a separate restriction to the cost function is unnecessary. © 2023 IEEE.

High-percentage renewable energy system is an inevitable choice to realize the dual-carbon target. However, the uncertainty of wind and solar output is prone to cause wind and light abandonment. With the electricity market reform, source-load coordination has attracted much attention. In this paper, taking the wind-solar industrial park as the research object, we propose a day-ahead economic scheduling method based on source-load coordination: considering the demand-side response in the day-ahead stage, we establish an economic scheduling model aiming at minimizing the operation cost and we obtain the day-ahead market 24h power plan curve by solving. The simulation results show that the method can fully tap the flexibility of demand-side consumers, enhance the capacity of wind power consumption, and contribute to the stable economic operation of the park. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the problem of inaccurate positioning of optical cable fault monitoring method, an optical cable fault locating method based on VR-GIS (virtual reality geographic information system) is proposed, a virtual optical cable line model is built, and a software platform for optical cable fault monitoring and management based on VR-GIS is developed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated with an experimental circuit. Experimental analysis shows that the proposed method has high positioning accuracy and short time, the positioning error is less than ±15m, and the positioning time is only 5.9 seconds. © 2023 IEEE.
