A present reversible logic is one of the most crucial issues in modern technology. It has different areas for its application those are low power CMOS, nanotechnology, quantum computing, cryptology optical computing DNA computing digital signal processing (DSP), Quantum dot cellular automatic communication, computer graphics. The main purposes of designing reversible logic are to decrease quantum cost. This paper proposed a design of reversible sequential circuits (RS Flip Flop, JK Flip Flop, D Flip Flop, T Flip Flop). The novelty of the paper is proposed design are better than the existing proposed one in terms of reversible gates.

In the present study, a signal processing unit for a GEM one-dimensional array detector is presented to measure the trajectory of photoelectrons produced by cosmic X-rays. The present GEM array detector system has 16 signal channels. The front-end unit provides timing signals from trigger units and energy signals from charge sensitive amplifies. The prototype of the processing unit is implemented using commercial field programmable gate array circuit boards. The FPGA based system is linked to a personal computer for testing and data analysis. Tests using simulated signals indicated that the FPGA-based signal processing unit has a good linearity and is flexible for parameter adjustment for various experimental conditions.

Reconstruction and repairing damaged parts after object removal of digital video is an important trend in artwork restoration. Video completion is an active subject in video processing, which deals with the recovery of the original data. Most previous video completion approaches consume more time in extensive search to find the best patch to restore the damaged frames. In addition to that, visual artifacts appear when the damaged area is large. In this paper, we present a fast and efficient video completion method without the extensive search process. The proposed method is based on the object prior positions and the temporal continuity of the video frames. The proposed method is fast and maintains the spatial and temporal consistency. In addition to that, it can handle the object size and posture change, non periodic motion, and non stationary background.

The HORUS spectrometer at the 10MV Tandem accelerator at the Institute for Nuclear Physics in Cologne consists of 14 high-purity germanium γ-detectors. To extend the experimental opportunities, the new silicon-detector array SONIC was designed, housing eight ΔE-E sandwich silicon detectors for ion spectroscopy. In order to process all 30 detector signals, the analog data acquisition was replaced by a digital one using the commercially available DGF-4C modules from the company XIA. The new data acquisition system was tested in two experiments.

Compressed sensing (CS), which breaks the limitations of the traditional Nyquist sampling theorem, takes full advantage of the sparse signal characteristics to achieve the accurate reconstruction of the compressed signal. An effective algorithm called GOAMP (Generalized Orthogonal Adaptive Matching Pursuit) algorithm was proposed by studying and summarizing the existing Matching Pursuit algorithm. The GOAMP algorithm can reconstruct the compressed signal exactly when the sparsity of the signal is unknown. Compare to the OMP (Orthogonal Matching Pursuit), the number of columns of the measurement matrix selected at each step is decided by the descent speed of the residual. Then like the OMP and the GOMP (Generalized Orthogonal Matching Pursuit), use the columns (atoms) selected before to reconstruct the original signal. The experiments show that the algorithm can choose the near-optimal iteration step quickly, signal reconstruction quality and efficiency of the algorithm are both ideal.

A 32-channel digital spectrometer PIXIE-32 is being developed for nuclear physics or other radiation detection applications requiring digital signal processing with large number of channels at relatively low cost. A single PIXIE-32 provides spectrometry and waveform acquisition for 32 input signals per module whereas multiple modules can be combined into larger systems. It is based on the PCI Express standard which allows data transfer rates to the host computer of up to 800 MB/s. Each of the 32 channels in a PIXIE-32 module accepts signals directly from a detector preamplifier or photomultiplier. Digitally controlled offsets can be individually adjusted for each channel. signals are digitized in 12-bit, 50 MHz multi-channel ADCs. Triggering, pile-up inspection and filtering of the data stream are performed in real time, and pulse heights and other event data are calculated on an event-by event basis. The hardware architecture, internal and external triggering features, and the spectrometry and waveform acquisition capability of the PIXIE-32 as well as its capability to distribute clock and triggers among multiple modules, are presented.

Beam forming is being used in sensor networks to enhance it communication range. Dual beam can be formed from two sets of sensors array wherein each set forming beam pattern in different direction. When same data need to be transmitted to two different directions, one set of sensors array can be used to form dual beam. The random distribution of sensors causes the beam pattern deviation. The random distribution has been modeled as uniform and Gaussian variables. A compensation technique to reduce the errors has been proposed in this paper. It has been modeled as joint optimization problem and solved by LS estimation method. This above technique has been applied to various geometry such as Uniform Linear Array(ULA) Uniform Circular Array (UCA), Uniform Elliptical Array(UEA) and Uniform Planar Rectangular Array(UPRA) with random perturbation and it is observed that dual beamforming from single set of array has efficient distribution of energy and also enhanced data transmission rate.

Aiming at the problem of signal attenuation seriously, a block averaging pre-processing (BAP) differential coherent acquisition algorithm is proposed. BAP algorithm can be used to suppress interference signals and improve the stability of the receiver, but it is still faced with navigation signal transitions problem. Differential coherent algorithm can compensate for square loss caused by non-coherent accumulation. Monte Carlo simulation experiments show that the algorithm is more effective in the same carrier-to-noise ratio and same data length conditions.

In the frame of the French trans-governmental R&D program against CBRN-E threats, CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) is studying the detection of Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) by neutron interrogation with the Associated Particle Technique (APT). Coincidences including at least 3 fission neutrons or gamma rays induced by tagged neutrons are used to detect and distinguish SNM from benign materials in which lower multiplicity events of 1 or 2 particles are produced by (n,2n) or (n,n'γ) reactions. Coincidence are detected by fast plastic scintillators and correlated with tagged neutrons to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Dedicated data acquisition electronics (DAQ) has been developed with independent FPGA cards associated to each detector, so that the acquisition window can be opened by any of the plastic scintillators. DAQ tests in passive mode are presented, in which acquisition is triggered by the sum signal of all detectors. The system time and energy calibration and resolution are reported, as well as the qualification of numerical simulations thanks to experimental data acquired with simple setups using a 252 Cf source. Numerical studies for the design and performance of cargo container inspection are also performed with the MCNP-PoliMi computer code and the ROOT data analysis package. SNM detection in iron cargo is quite straightforward but in organic matrix, data processing will need to combine more information to evidence SNM.

In P2P (Peer-to-Peer) VoD (Video-on-Demand) systems, one of the key problems is cache replication. However, with the large scale P2P VoD systems deployed, people study on the log of these systems and gradually realize that the strategy which caches videos proportionally to their popularities is not optimal, especially for cold resources. In simulation, we show that cold videos produce the majority of server workload. In our work, we propose a two-stage cache replication strategy, which increases the distribution of cold resources in the system and reduces the redundant cache of popular resources. Through simulation, we find that the cache proportion of popular videos and cold videos has been readjusted. Owing to more proportion of cache capacity used to cache cold videos, the server workload produced by cold videos is reduced sharply while the server workload produced by popular videos stays low.
