This paper proposed a new vehicle geo-localization method in urban environment integrating a new source of information that is a virtual 3D city model. This 3D model provides a realistic representation of the navigation environment of the vehicle. To optimize the performance of vehicle geo-localization system, several sources of information are integrated for their complementarity and redundancy: a GPS receiver, proprioceptive sensors (odometers and gyrometer), a video camera and a virtual 3D city model. The pose estimation algorithm used to fuse the different sensors data is an IMM-UKF (Interacting Multiple Model - Unscented Kalman Filter). The proprioceptive sensors allow to continuously estimating the dead-reckoning position and orientation of the vehicle. This dead-reckoning estimation of the pose is corrected by GPS measurements. Moreover, a 3D model/camera based observation of the vehicle pose is constructed to compensate the drift of the dead-reckoning localization when GPS measurements are unavailable for a long time. This pose observation is based on the matching between the virtual image extracted from the 3D city model and the real image acquired by the camera. The observation construction is composed of two major parts. The first part consists in detecting and matching the feature points of the real and virtual images. Three features are compared: Harris corner, SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) and SURF (Speed Up Robust Features). The second part is the pose computation using POSIT algorithm and the previously matched features set. The developed approach has been tested on a real sequence and the obtained results proved the feasibility and robustness of the approach.

In order to improve the precision, speed, integration and reliability of the linear CCD system, A method of data acquisition for high resolution output signal of linear array CCD using FPGA is introduced. The CCD signal acquisition circuit with high speed and high sensitivity is designed based on the combination of FPGA with high-speed A/D conversion chipset to gather the signals of high-speed. The experimental results demonstrated that defects within 50 mu m similar to 1000 mu m were inspected effectively by the CCD scanning defects inspection instrument, that this method has a repetition error no more than 2.24 pixels, with high precision and good anti-noise ability.

3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) LTE (Long Term Evolution) Advanced standards are currently under way, where 4x4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) scheme is the minimum structure. One of the best solutions to support the maximum data rate transmission is to adopt a MIMO scheme, especially spatial multiplexing mode, which means that each antenna port can transmit separate data. To realize this algorithm, the main issue is to cancel interferences added to each antenna port, and therefore, the algorithm at the receiver should have good performances. In the aspect of implementation, MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) detection algorithm is a reasonable method considering both complexity and performance. Furthermore, an iterative receiver (IR) algorithm can also be applied to this system. An IR algorithm has a tradeoff between complexity and performance. In this paper, we designed a reasonable and implementable MIMO receiver structure and showed performance for 3GPP LTE Advanced system, and verified that hard decoded bits, PIC-MMSE (Parallel Interference Cancellation - MMSE) and 1-iteration PIC are enough to meet the required SNR using the implemented test-bed system.

We investigate coercive objective functions composed of a data-fidelity term and a regularization term. Both of these terms are non differentiable and non convex, at least one of them being strictly non convex. The regularization term is defined on a class of linear operators including finite differences. Their minimizers exhibit amazing properties. Each minimizer is the exact solution of an (overdetermined) linear system composed partly of linear operators from the data term, partly of linear operators involved in the regularization term. This is a strong property that is useful when we know that some of the data entries are faithful and the linear operators in the regularization term provide a correct modeling of the sought-after image or signal. It can be used to tune numerical schemes as well. Beacon applications include super resolution, restoration using frame representations, inpainting, morphologic component analysis, and so on. Various examples illustrate the theory and show the interest of this new class of objectives.
