The paper chooses the penetration impact signal as the research object. The matched filtering algorithm has been used to process the impact signal according to its frequency. On the analysis of the correlation algorithm and radix-4 FFT algorithm, the paper puts forward an implementation algorithm on FPGA of the fixed geometric structure addressing. By using fixed geometry addressing, pipeline design and block floating point structure, the data has the greater precision and dynamic range. The results show that the design is efficient, strong extensive and occupies less resource. It is an effective method to meet the high-speed digital signalprocessing requirements.

Karhunen-Loève Transform (KLT) is the statistically best block transform. In terms of decorrelation of the signal samples and repacking energy distributing, the signal dependent transform of KLT was used in noise eliminating, data compression and features extraction for ECG. Experimental results proved that KLT was proper for suppressing noise of low self-correlated property, e.g. white noise, but has little use for noise of high self-correlation such as power line interference. KLT got high compression ratio at the cost of low information fidelity, though the coding procedure might remove certain noise. KLT was more remarkable for its role in feature extraction, e.g. to distinguish between normal sinus beats from abnormal waveform morphologies. In conclusion, KLT is well suited in ECG processing of noise canceling and data compression, especially a good candidate for robust feature extraction.

One similarity measurement strategy for bio-signal waveform is presented in this paper. A tunnel morph is introduced to describe the waveform. It measures the waveform not only by a value, but considers the curve feature of waveforms. Then a set of integrity definitions are presented in the paper. It contains segmentation, measurement function selection, tunnel morph width, and best partition point assigning. A case study on AECG (Ambulatory Electrocardiogram) is also presented to give a proof for the similarity measurement strategy. Through experiment, the sensitivity and positive prediction of the strategy is higher than city block, Euclidean distance and correlation coefficient. data used in the paper is from MIT/BIH.

A new partial common-offset common reflection surface (CO CRS) stacking method is developed in this paper to enhance the quality of sparse low fold seismic data. A multiparameter CO CRS traveltime formula is applied to compute partially stacked CRS supergathers, which have improved signal-to-noise ratio compared with the original data and are regularized by filling the gaps in cases of missing traces. These improved prestack data can be used in many conventional processing steps, e.g., velocity analysis or prestack depth migration instead of the original data. Application on model data reveals that comparing with the image section obtained from the original seismic data, the image section by the application of depth migration with the CO CRS supergathers improves not only the signal-to-noise ratio but also the continuity of reflection events, which has better imaging results.

The Mechatronics research group of Simon Bolivar University has been designing and building a robotics platform, a lab prototype, intended for rescue labors, recovery issues, and mainly for ship and underwater pipelines inspection. In order to facilitate the operability of the platform some kind of autonomy or, at least, wireless connection is required for the robot control. Radiofrequency is not suitable for underwater applications and a buoy had to be developed in order to communicate with operation and control central panel. From the buoy, a wireless access point connects the robot electronics with the control laptop through an Ethernet Serial converter. A video system consisting of an IP camera and software has been developed in order to have visual information from the robot work environment. A lightning system has been added to improve underwater visibility. All the software and control system of the platform was developed and adapted for the new communication tools using LabView®. data safety has been implemented using checksum verifications and the employed bandwidth has been optimized according to the signal boost. Some tests for the video system where developed and some image processing tasks were implemented in order to show the goodness and stability of the system. A multidisciplinary team has been working for several years to develop this robot.

This paper introduces a DSP optimization model based on data structure transformation and memory schedule for real-time image process. This model implements 4 critical methods: image block, image dimension reduction, DMA transfer and ping-pong cache, which makes use of DSP hardware feature and optimizes the data schedule among the external and internal memory and CPU, while processing 2D digital signal such as images and video frames. This model provides a common strategy which can be used in the most of linear image process circumstances. Based on this model, this paper optimized a grayscale image matching algorithm and improved its efficiency, in order to verify the effectiveness of this model.

The end effects of Hilbert-Huang transform are produced in the Empirical Mode Decomposition(EMD) and the Hilbert transform for Intrinsic Mode Functions(IMF), which have a badly effect on Hilbert-Huang transform. In order to overcome this problem, the multi-objective allocation Genetic Algorithm (GA) to solve the kernel parameters selection of Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM)(GLHHT) is presented in this paper. Then the LSSVM is used to predict the signal before EMD. The scheme can effectively resolve the end effects, and obtain the EVIFs with explicitly physical sense and Hilbert spectrum. The simulation results from the typical definite and practical signals demonstrate that the end effects of Hilbert Huang transform could be resolved effectively, and its effects are better than prediction methods by RBF neural network and SVM, respectively.
