A novel forecasting approach is composed of BWGC and NGARCH tuned by quantum-neuro-based adaptive support vector regression with nested local adiabatic evolution. Instead of traditionally (globally) adiabatic evolution algorithm for unstructured search, we focus on the structured adiabatic quantum search by nesting a partial search over a reduced set of variables into a global search for solving an optimization problem on adaptive support vector regression (AM) yielding an average complexity of order root N-a, with a <1. The proposed method is experimentally applied to predicting typhoon moving path even though fewer sampled data are available to work out possibly real-time look-ahead typhoon moving position. Consequently, it yields satisfactory results of forecasting typhoon moving path when comparing with several alternative methods.

The encryption mechanism is the common method to protect the sensitive data in database from various attacks. But once the data in databases is encrypted the efficiency of DBMS will fall. To enhance the security of the sensitive data and to improve the efficiency of the encrypted database, one effective method is to build index on the encrypted field and firstly executes the query on the index to get fewer records to decrypt in this paper. This paper proposes an index mechanism of bucket index on the character data, which has close relationships with all of its characters. The index tries to translate the character string into a numeric data, on which the primary query will be processed to filtrate the records roughly. Only the rest records need to be decrypted, and it will save lots of time. So the cipher index can improve the query efficiency greatly.

In this paper, lip and eye features are applied to classify the human emotion through a set of irregular and regular ellipse fitting equations using Genetic algorithm (GA). South East Asian face is considered in this study. All six universally accepted emotions and one neutral are considered for classifications. The method which is fastest in extracting lip features is adopted in this study. Observation of various emotions of the subject lead to an unique characteristic of lips and eye. GA is adopted to optimize irregular ellipse and regular ellipse characteristics of the lip and eye features in each emotion respectively. The GA method approach has achieved reasonably successful classification of emotion. While performing classification, optimized values can mess or overlap with other emotions range. In order to overcome the overlapping problem between the emotions and at the same time to improve the classification, a neural network (NN) approach is implemented The GA-NN based process exhibits a range of 83% - 90% classification of the emotion from the optimized feature of top lip, bottom lip and eye.

Acoustic sensors can be localized using multiple fixed transient sound sources with known positions or a mobile transient sound source moved to different known positions. The sensor positions are estimated by measuring the differential times-of-arrival of the signal emitted by each source at different sensor pairs, and then minimizing the sum of the squared deviations of the differential times-of-arrival from their predicted values over all sensor pairs and all source positions. The localization accuracy of the method is evaluated with real data using the bootstrap technique for a land-based wide-aperture linear array consisting of six widely separated microphones located on the ground and an underwater wide-aperture planar array consisting of four widely spaced hydrophones deployed in Sydney Harbour. Results are presented for the cases where two and three sensor elements of the microphone array are localized at a time for various intersensor spacings and for the case where all four sensor elements of the hydrophone array are localized simultaneously.

H.264 video coding standard supports a broad range of application, and how to guarantee its security has already become an urgent problem. In this paper, we propose a, video encryption algorithm for H.264, which combines stream cipher algorithm with entropy coding process. It obtains video content security by encrypting codeword index to scramble the position of the codeword. Experiments show that, the proposed algorithm is, able to provide compromise between security and complexity, has little effect on compression performance. It's believed to be applied in the fields of video conference, digital rights management, multimedia storage, etc.

In this paper, instead of proposing the fastest mining algorithm in the world, we present a new approach in mining association rules. We propose a new algorithm - GRA (Gradational Reduction Approach). It adopts three mechanisms to increase the performance of mining. First, GRA algorithm uses a hash based technique, Hash MAP, which is similar to Hash Table to increase the access efficiency. Second, GRA algorithm uses an infrequent itemsets filtering mechanism to avoid generating a great deal of infrequent sub-itemsets of transaction records. Third, in order to reduce the size of database, GRA algorithm uses gradational reduction mechanism which uses the frequent itemsets as the information of filtration mechanisms to erase the infrequent items from database at every phase. GRA algorithm can decrease a large number of non-frequent itemsets and increase the utility rate of memory.

Sensory information coming from natural sensors and being propagated on afferent nerve fibers could be used as feedback for a more efficient closed-loop control of a functional electrical stimulation system. In order to extract and separate these signals according to their nerve fascicule origins, we propose a new architecture of a multipolar cuff electrode and an optimized integrated acquisition circuit. Concerning the electrode, we propose a specific configuration using a large number of poles in order to both reject parasitic signals, such as electromyogram and provide a maximum of recording channels in order to help the signal localization inside the nerve. Moreover, specific low-level analog signalprocessing was designed to extract the expected low-amplitude signal from its noisy environment. This signalprocessing is implemented in an ASIC that has to be implanted close to the electrode to achieve the best signal-to-noise ratio
