Compilers form one of the most basic components in computing today. The high-level programs used to form applications are translated to assembly code by the compiler, and subsequently to machine code by the assembler. Assembly code generation is preceded by the optimization phase, which reorganizes and modifies the program to give the best possible performance. But the instruction selection is as important as the optimization itself, since the underlying processing units only use the machine code, rather than the program logic. The complexity associated with the selection of instruction is that there might be multiple ways to perform an operation, and each method might be beneficial for a particular scenario. We may not be able to determine a "universally beneficial" method for all operations. Genetic Algorithms can be employed in this scenario since it is a randomized enumerative search strategy. It can eventually reach the optimal solution. We can encode the algorithm chromosomes using different indices for the different instruction templates, and perform the genetic operations on those chromosomes to yield good generations of results. Even if genetic algorithms don't guarantee a globally optimal solution, it always improves on the current solution and after some runs, we are guaranteed to get a fairly acceptable result. Analysis shows that with some acceptable compromise on the compilation time, the knowledge - augmented genetic algorithm approach works in more than 80% of the cases.

Aimed at the goal of digital capture function for CNC profiling lathe, it has conducted researches on the key technologies of CNC system development, including automatic profiling measurement, profiling data collection methods and G-code program automatically generation. Before process, use an on-off-type laser sensor along the planned path close to the sample workpiece point by point to get series of coordinate points of the contour through the CNC system position latch function and the switch of senor's state;through subsequent processing methods: contour segmentation, curve filtering, etc. And generate the G-code program for process. Practice shows that this special CNC system for profiling lathe, not only integrates automatic profiling data acquisition, automatic generation of process G code program, and has the characteristics of simple structure, easy operation and high efficiency.

In order to cope with huge mobile data traffic, 3GPP (3rd generation Partnership Project) has started to discuss the architecture and optimization of a network that introduces a large amount of small base stations (small cells) with higher frequency bands into the area covered by macro base stations (macro cells) with lower frequency bands. In such a network, spectral efficiency will be degraded because of the inter-cell interference among small cells. Therefore, it is important to clarify how much the transmission power of small cells is required to decrease inter-cell interference. This paper presents throughput performances as a function of small cell transmission power for two deployment scenarios. The first is the "co-channel scenario," where the same frequency bands are shared by both macro and small cells. The other is the " dedicated channel scenario," where the frequency band of macro cells is different from that of small cells. The numerical results showed that especially the cell-edge user throughput decreases significantly as the transmission power of small cells decreases. In addition, the co-channel scenario outperforms the dedicated channel scenario regardless of the transmission power of small cells, however, higher cell-edge user throughput can be achieved in the dedicated channel scenario compared to that in the co-channel scenario when the traffic offloading technique is introduced.

HLA (High Level Architecture) is a standard to promote the interoperation and the reuse of the simulation models. In the simulation federation development based on HLA/RTI, how to simplify the process of creating federate is an urgent job. This paper proposes an equipment support simulation federate automatically generation tool in order to solve equipment support concept evaluation on diverse level concept. The federate automatically generation tool can automatically generate federate in different number different function different interaction depending on universal federate code and federate initialization data. The tool not only automatically generates federate framework code, but also automatically generates federation inside function code. It can reduce the difficulties of federate development and increase the efficiency of equipment support concept evaluation. The application of joint operations equipment support concept evaluation is illustrated. It testifies the available and feasible of federate automatically generation tool in equipment support simulation. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper builds two water hydraulic poppet valve models which are of different structure, and simulation analysis used by FLUENT software on it's internal flow field. The analysis results show that, after improving the structure of water hydraulic poppet valve, import and export pressure value differences decreased, effectively restrains the generation of cavitation, reduces the vibration amplitude and turn down noise, reduces loss of turbulent energy, the overall performance is superior to the traditional structure. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper is concerned with the influence of the codification type on the optimization of frame structures for constrained minimum weight, when using discrete variables: cross-section types corresponding to standard profiles. Three different codifications are compared: standard binary, standard reflected gray, and other binary codification with a greater number of different bits between consecutive integers. The focus of the work described is on determining how the codification selection influences the final performance of the algorithm, considering in addition two population sizes and two crossover types. A generational evolutionary algorithm with ranking selection and low generation gap is tested in a well known fifty-five bar sized frame structural test case. Results have been obtained from executing one hundred independent runs of each parameter/codification combination, which means twelve different algorithm outcomes. The gray code obtains the best results, and codification influence has a greater impact than the other considered factors (population size or crossover type). The experimentation performed in this single optimization work points out that the quality of the solutions is greatly affected by the codification, being the selection of gray codification of major importance in the algorithmic tuning of parameters in the evolutionary optimization of the structural optimum design problem. ©Civil-Comp Press, 2013.

A highly reliable SiO2 deposited by atomic layer deposition (ALD) as a gate dielectric interface layer with high-k/metal gate (HKMG) in high voltage I/O field effect transistor (FETs) for advanced technologies has been demonstrated. Improved process control, better gate oxide conformality, superior dielectric reliability (over CVD SiO2), and equivalent uniformity and reliability compared to thermal oxide proves its usefulness for FinFET/ETSOI I/O devices. In addition, use of ALD SiO2 with novel interface layer results in reduced interfacial regrowth on SiGe channel, which when coupled with post deposition nitridation and annealing optimization for optimal performance, is an attractive oxide optimization option for alternate channel architectures.

The aim of paper is to design SCFDMA system using SFBC and receiver diversity which provides satisfactory performance over fast fading channel environment. The performance evaluation will be checked through MATLAB R2009b simulator. There are comparisons of performance among 1x1 SCFDMA system, 2x1 SCFDMA system using SFBC, 1x2 SCFDMA system using receiver diversity and 2x2 SCFDMA system using SFBC and receiver diversity. We describe design of SCFDMA system using transmitter diversity technique and receiver diversity technique. We have compared the performance of these systems with the conventional SCFDMA system. The main focus is on design of SCFDMA system using SFBC and receiver diversity which enables desired system to combat detrimental effects of fast fading.

Next generation CMOS architectures tend to thin-film devices and multi-gate devices, such as FinFET or TriGate [1,2], and ultimately to Gate-All-Around devices thanks to their higher electrostatics immunity at short gate length compared to conventional planar CMOS. This paper presents recent optimizations of ebeam lithography using HSQ (Hydogen Silses Quioxane, H8Si8O12) resist, used to form self-aligned cavities and finally gate-all-around or double-gated devices. HSQ has demonstrated many features making it an attractive candidate for such applications: it is a high-resolution [3] and low Line-Edge-Roughness [4] negative tone inorganic resist for electron beam lithography [5] that can be converted into amorphous silicon oxide after exposition/bake treatment. It is compatible with conventional front-end silicon technology devices manufacturing and presents excellent gap/ cavity fill and planarization performances. Finally, its compatibility with EUV radiation [6] paves the way to the end of the semiconductor roadmap.
