Opportunistic spectrum usage is one application of the so called cognitive communication systems that enables efficient spectrum usage in future wireless communication systems. One of the key features in opportunistic spectrum usage is a spectrum opportunity estimation method. Energy detection has the benefit that knowledge about the licensed users is not required. In this paper, energy detection method called the localization algorithm based on double-thresholding (LAD) is implemented on the wireless open-access research platform (WARP). The simulation measurements proved that the implementation was done correctly. Results included important information of consumed FPGA resources and processing latencies for the LAD method implementation.

The aim of this study is to develop a system for extracting information during postural stability tests, using a new capacitive force sensor conceived and made by us. Based on the capacitive force sensor, we developed a pedometric force plate (PFP) for use in human postural and gait analysis. We present the method of data acquisition, the signal processing and the results obtained. For determining a relationship between the force signal parameters (spectrum, COP (Center of Pressure) trajectories) and subjects' postural behavior, six healthy persons were tested. The Fourier spectra were determined for every force sensor and for the COP. Also, the gait line was determined for three subjects who achieved a short walk before the postural test.

Data quality is an important component of modern scientific discovery. Many scientific discovery processes consume data from a diverse array of resources such as streaming sensornetworks, web services, and databases. The validity of a scientific computation's results is highly dependent on the quality of these input data. Scientific workflow systems are being increasingly used to automate scientific computations by facilitating experiment design, data capture, integration, processing, and analysis. These workflows may execute in grid or cloud environments, and if the data produced during workflow execution is deemed unusable or low in quality, execution should stop to prevent wasting these valuable resources. We propose an approach in the Kepler scientific workflow system for monitoring data quality and demonstrate its use for oceanography and bioinformatics domains. Copyright 2010 ACM.

Video is an important medium for the observation of a variety of phenomena in the physical world such as for water conservancy engineering. Video sensornetworks (VSN) consists of a large number of sensor nodes with cheap CMOS cameras, therefore, it has the ability of large scale visual monitoring. However, a kind of powerful and scalable platform is urgent for simulation and development of VSN. This paper proposed a novel and scalable video sensornetworks platform named as Vision Mesh for water conservancy engineering. Vision Mesh is composed of a mass of image or video sensor nodes - Vision Motes, with which multi-view image or video information of FOV (Field of View) can be acquired simply. Vision Mote is built with Atmel ARM9 CPU and operated on Linux operating system, with TI CC2430 Zigbee module taken as wireless transceiver. Furthermore, OpenCV machine vision lib is migrated to Vision Mesh platform so as to improve video processing ability, therefore, Vision Mesh has the ability of image and video processing and is of strong scalability to extend performance. In this paper, we provide an overview of Vision Mesh architecture and provide an insightful platform for VSN.

In this paper, we address the reference model adaptive neural network control problem for a class of switched nonlinear singular systems under the case of single input and multiple inputs. Based on RBF neural network, the state tracking controller and a switching strategy are designed so that switched nonlinear singular system can asymptotically track the desired reference model. It shows that RBF neural network are used to approximate the positive nonlinear unknown function. The approximation errors of the RBF neural networks are introduced to the adaptive law in order to improve the performance of the whole systems. A simulation example is performed in support of the proposed neural control scheme.

The goal of this paper is to propose a way to processing data from service providing networks using reputation mechanism to user application in agent-based network environment. In this process, it must concern about a lot of sensor network because sensornetworks are quite different about data format, protocol, and so on. To alleviate this heterogeneity, we propose data integration mechanism that can convert gathered data from various data gathering network to unified data format. In the agent-based network environment consist of a number of agents and it cooperate each other for establishing their own target but it has problem about lack of reliability. A novel multisensor order statistic unscented probabilistic data association algorithm, MSOSUPDA, is proposed for the multsisensor multitarget tracking problem of nonlinear system in clutter. In the new algorithm, the problem of interest is first translated into multiple nonlinear single-sensor multitarget tracking problems, which can be dealt with sequentially. Then UKF is used for the propagation of state distribution in nonlinear system. Based on these ,the association of measurements of single sensor to tracks is implemented according to the principle of order statistics probabilistic data association (OSPDA) and the MSOSUPDA algorithm is derived. Compared with the MSJPDA/EKF, the accuracy and robustness of MSOSUPDA are improved. Furthermore, computational complexity of the proposed algorithm decreases obviously on account of the use of OSPDA. According to the simulation results, the ratio of divergence and the processing time of our proposed algorithm to those of the MSJPDA/EKF algorithm are 19 and 70 percent respectively besides more favorable accuracy.

With the growing popularity of Internet and development, the amount of information on the Internet is beyond people's imagination. information filtering is searching interesting information for user and shielding other useless information in dynamic information flow based on user's need of information. In this background, information filtration comes into being and becomes a very important branch in informationprocessing field. Because text information is one of the most important forms of Internet information, this article focuses on text filtering processing. This paper mainly searches how to build user template more precisely, the template learning algorithm in filtering processing and adaptive threshold in adaptive information filtering processing based on vector space model. Adaptive learning is fulfilled through genetic optimization of feedback information. Updating user templates by data gained by adaptive learning helps adaptive filtering. According to the experimental result, this method has shielded the information sparsely of the pseudo-relevance feedback and the misleading of the feature ambiguity effectively to improve the filtering quality of the adaptive information filtering system.
