Eco Lift Automation is a smart elevator system that uses a programmable logic Controller (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to optimize scheduling and power management. This system addresses the inefficiencies of traditional elevator systems by implementing a time-controlled operation strategy. The PLC executes real-time decision-making using the ‘MOV’ command, allowing selective floor access and speed regulation based on predefined schedules. The HMI interface provides an intuitive control panel for monitoring system performance, adjusting schedules, and diagnosing faults in real-time. By integrating automation, real-time scheduling, and energy optimization, Eco Lift Automation significantly reduces operational costs and environmental impact while maintaining safety and reliability. This innovative approach to sustainable elevator management is ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

According to the requirement of the system operation, a control computer monitors and controls a large number of key nodes, synthesizes a variety of excitation signals, obtains the angular state of the rotating mechanism, controls its rotation to the specified position. Based on an FPGA (Field-programmable Gate Array) core, this paper develops a signal synthesizing module, a digital axis-angle conversion module and a W5500 Ethernet interface using a SOPC system that can be tailored and configured flexibly. It integrates the customed logic IPs into the SOPC (System-on-a-programmable Chip) system of the Nios II architecture. The software system coordinates the operation of all modules. Finally, the control computer synthetically implements all its functions.

The main goal of this study is to investigate programmable logic Controllers (PLCs) and their effects on industrial automation production productivity in depth. Due to their capacity to automate complicated tasks, monitor manufacturing procedures, and improve operational performance, programmable logic controllers are now an essential part of contemporary manufacturing processes. This abstract highlight the significance of PLCs in developing industrial automation and their function in raising manufacturing productivity. The research examines a variety of PLC technology-related topics, including programming, communication protocols, and interaction with other automation systems. The results of this study will help us better comprehend the function of PLCs in simplifying and increasing efficiency in industrial operations. PLCs gather data from sensors and input devices, which provides them with critical information about how effectively the production system is doing. This data may be evaluated in order to identify potential improvement areas, optimize production parameters, and reduce equipment downtime. By integrating PLCs with other systems like HMIs and SCADA, manufacturers may bolster operational performance, centralize command, and make communication easier.

Complex control algorithm for indirect matrix converter (IMC) needs powerful processors such as digital signal processors (DSPs) with complex programmable logic device (CPLD) or field programmable gate array (FPGA). The additional hardware circuitry increases cost and decreases reliability of the system. In this paper an implementation of space vector modulation (SVM) is realized for the IMC based on single 16-bit microcontroller only. Elimination of additional circuit increases the reliability of the IMC as control circuit becomes compact. Moreover, for low power applications cost of system gets significantly reduced. The realization of IMC is based on PWM module, timer register and interrupts routine of microcontroller. The burden on CPU is reduced in such realization so that processor can perform complex logic algorithms. The experimental results for IMC feeding power to RL-load prove practical validity of proposed method.

This technical article outlines the eight steps of operation associated with the conversion of a manually operated multiple boilers station towards a semi-automated multiple boilers station with the help of programmable logic controller (PLC). This report focuses on the passing of only one input from PLC control room to the four boilers at a particular temperature and this process continued until the operating temperature reached 900 °C. Although the four boilers are not working at the same time, each boiler has required a continuous inspection at frequent intervals. In our method, each boiler is operated for 10 min interval with every power setting. Through the RSLOGIX 5000 ladder diagram, the PLC sends a single input to the system and the four boilers started to operate simultaneously with the possible eight outputs with two power settings. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Environmental and other stresses are constantly affecting photovoltaic (PV) components which can end in various faults. The anomalous condition can reduce the PV output power or even result in a calamitous fire hazard. Hence, PV systems must be monitored constantly in order to ensure their proper performance. This paper proposes an intelligent PV condition monitoring scheme based on programmable logic Controller (PLC). This scheme monitors the PV performance and detects different faults and failures on the DC-side of the array. It also takes advantage of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) which provides the operators with useful real-time data from the array.

In order to improve the frequency of phase-locked loop (PLL), a high-speed divider-by-4/5 and 8/9 dual modulus prescaler are proposed. The speed of the prescaler is improved on two levels. At the top level, the proposed work reaches high speed with the multiplier, logic gates, and synchronous divider-by-2/3 prescaler. At the gate level, speed optimization is achieved by TSPC DFF embedded with a logic gate. Fabricated in SMIC 0.13-μm CMOS process, the frequency of the proposed circuit ranges from 500M to 8.5G. The power consumption is 1.16 mW at the maximum operating frequency under 1.2 V supply voltage.

Autonomous vehicles represent the forefront of modern technology, integrating robotics, machine learning, and advanced hardware systems for tasks such as object detection and real-time decision-making. This research focuses on enhancing the power efficiency of Field programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), a key hardware choice due to their flexibility and parallel processing capabilities. By leveraging Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) alongside a Self-Feedback Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), the proposed system achieves a significant reduction in energy consumption while maintaining performance. The system, implemented on a Xilinx Virtex7 FPGA and tested with the KITTI dataset, demonstrates a power reduction of 65.9% without compromising detection accuracy. This scalable solution provides a foundation for energy-efficient operations in autonomous vehicles.

The flexible valve control system is an important device that connects the control and protection device of the converter station and the power module. It is responsible for receiving commands issued by the control and protection device, issuing control commands to the power module, and receiving signals returned by the power module. During the debugging process of the flexible valve control device at Luxi Station, a trip event occurred due to a dual slave signal. This article analyzes the cause of the dual slave fault trip and proposes a improved dual slave fault judgment and export logic based on the timing and dual slave fault logic during the trip process. This logic has been applied on-site at Luxi Station and the valve control device is operating well, verifying the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
