Inadequate overflow capacity caused by functional diseases, such as siltation and scaling in drainage networks, is one of the reasons for the frequent occurrence of urban flooding. In response to the problems of complex maintenance, poor data transmission security, inability to achieve full coverage of siltation diagnosis, and lack of a scientific basis for maintenance decisions in the existing underground pipe network information system, a comprehensive pipe network intelligent management system is created. this system integrates real-time data sensing, encrypted and protected information transmission, accurate flow rate and flow measurement, pipe siltation disease diagnosis, overflow/stagnant water warning, and multi-objective optimization. this integration is achieved by combining IoT, multi-sensor technology, and deep learning in the design. the intelligent management system of the pipeline network is constructed based on the above principles. To instantiate this drainage network intelligent management system, we adopt the technical route of "software + firmware + hardware."this approach allows us to finally realize real-time data query, data security transmission, siltation intelligent diagnosis, overflow/water warning, and optimal maintenance decision-making for each monitoring node of the pipe network. the system is multi-dimensional, covering the whole process and leveraging intelligent technology. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of intelligent technology, intelligent tools are widely needed, and automatic following car comes into being in the field of transportation. this paper designs an automatic following car system based on MSP432 from the actual needs. the system is composed of two vehicles, the front car is the lead car, the rear car is the following car, with MSP432 as the control core, mainly composed of L298N drive module, ultrasonic module, Bluetooth module and tracking module four main modules. MSP432 MCU controls the L298N drive module to drive the motor by output PWM signal, and the motor adjusts the wheel speed to realize the car's straight running and steering. the tracking module innovatively uses the combination of infrared sensor and grayscale sensor to achieve accurate path navigation. the two cars use the Bluetooth module to maintain communication, and the ultrasonic module is equipped with real-time automatic ranging to maintain the distance between the two cars and prevent the collision of the two cars. the test car can drive at various speeds, the driving process is stable, there is no collision, and the parking position is accurate. the system can realize automatic following, overtaking, stopping and waiting. It has the advantages of timely response, strong anti-interference ability, simple operation, low cost and high scalability. © 2024 SPIE.

Advances in concrete 3D printing enable the efficient production of complex concrete structures without the need for formwork. On this basis, the optimization of the use of resources in construction can be followed through thin-walled cross-section constructions. A key research area is the integration of reinforcement elements in 3D printed concrete members, as conventional methods are often unsuitable. Future potentials in automation of prefabrication of structural concrete elements are discussed. Carbon fibers, due to their non-corrosive properties and flexibility, are promising alternatives to steel reinforcement. this paper examines the suitability of carbon fibers for reinforcing additively manufactured concrete components. Preliminary tests explored the production of fiber-reinforced specimens and the insertion process of the fibers. the focus is on material testing to assess the composite behavior of carbon fiber rovings, comparing fracture behavior and failure modes of fiber-reinforced specimens with reference 3D printed specimens. As part of the test series, variants of the anchoring of carbon fibers were investigated in order to achieve better composite properties. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Learning Factories are educational environments that replicate manufacturing environment operations, providing next-generation engineers with hands-on learning opportunities. University-based Learning Factories may encounter barriers in supporting a wide range of learning courses with different intended learning objectives and outcomes that impede their successful implementation and can prevent valuable learning experiences. Overcoming these barriers requires dedicated efforts to enhance the infrastructural capabilities of the Learning Factory to become multi-use, invoking better flexibility and reconfigurability of the layout besides utilization of value-enhancing technologies. For this purpose, this work investigates the learning opportunities to enable data-driven layout reconfigurations by fusing 3D simulations with Real Time Locating Systems (RTLS). the seamless integration of these digital solutions provides accurate tracking and modeling of whichever manufacturing entity. Mirroring physical systems configurations into digital environments triggers learners to better analyze process functioning and performances. this digital solution is even more effective into modern mass-customized markets, where batch-centered production processes require easy-to-deploy and iterative layout optimizations. the findings of this empirical study support the transformative potential of achieving reconfigurable layouts alongside RTLS and 3D simulation technologies within a Learning Factory. this integrated approach is not limited to enhancing capabilities and operational efficiency but also provides a wider and multi-dimensional array of educational experiences, bridging the gap between academia and an ever-evolving manufacturing landscape.

the article discusses the problem of optimizing the characteristics of microelectronic objects in the transition from abstract virtual layout models of cells to their layout drawings in real design rules. Optimization of the characteristics of microelectronic objects is provided by an original layout compaction algorithm based on a virtual coordinate grid, which simulates the actions of a layout designer to reduce parasitic parameters. © 2021 IEEE.

When ground reconnaissance mobile robots perform tasks alone, they can only obtain ground view perception, which leads to the inability to globally optimize, resulting in local rather than global optimal solutions. Inspired by this, a servo control system for mobile robots based on UAV global vision is designed in this paper. Firstly, acquire global visual images and process them, selecting target points via mouse under global vision. Secondly, plan an obstacle avoidance path to reach the target point using artificial potential field method, and smooth the path using B-spline curves. then, establish the kinematic model of the mobile robot and use the LQR algorithm to enable the robot to track the path. Finally, experimental tests were conducted via the Webots simulation platform to verify the feasibility of the system. Experimental results show that the system can ensure high accuracy and smooth path tracking, and has strong cooperative control, effectively addressing the single visual problem of ground mobile robots. the integration of technology into education has produced major changes in teaching and learning. Open Educational Resources (OER) have played a role in this transformation enabling educators to enhance course development by utilizing existing educational materials. However the main challenge lies in locating OERs that meet the users' educational needs and goals. To tackle this issue we introduce MOERID, a chatbot powered by GPT 3 that offers recommendations for OERs. MOERID integrates GPT 3 for its natural language processing (NLP) abilities utilizing deep learning algorithms to comprehend context and produce text with minimal adjustments. Key features of MOERID include an interface, customized recommendation systems, scalability and continuous learning mechanisms to ensure performance and user satisfaction when delivering tailored OER suggestions. this chatbot is designed to assist educators in streamlining the process of searching for resources so they can focus on enhancing the learning journey. the study investigates the context and challenges of OER use, gives an overview of Language Models (LLMs), and describes the MOERID implementation, with a focus on integrating NLP and machine learning technologies. this research contributes to advance AI-powered educational tools by providing actionable recommendations for future research.

this paper addresses the critical challenges of upgrading design Systems to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, a key step in fostering digital inclusivity and maintaining a competitive edge in today's business landscape. With the development of intelligent robots and the proposal of 'Industry 5.0', the intelligent robotic systems have been increasingly used in industrial scenarios. However, the current robotic grasping system is facing a series of problems, including low integration, low movability and limited application scenarios. To counter these problems, this paper designs an integrated robotic system for object recognition and intelligent grasping, consisting of an STM32F405RGT6 microcontroller board, path planning module, object recognition and intelligent grasping module, and environmental monitoring and communication module. this paper details the framework, the hardware and software design of the robotic system respectively. the results show that the robotic system achieves the design goal and realizes robust intelligent recognition and automatic grasping in a constantly moving process with high accuracy, stability and information-based degree. © 2022 IEEE.

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies represent a progressive way of manufacturing components from different materials using only one production device. Additive manufacturing is gaining a distinct advantage in manufacturing industries because of its ability to manufacture parts with complex shapes without any tooling requirement or human interface. Its use covers a wide range of industries. the present work focuses on development of a new methodology for control of the AM process based on the integration of the outputs of the strength analysis into the printing software of the production equipment. the developed algorithm is based on several subsequent steps. the strength analysis is used for solving the CAD model of the printed part by the Finite Element Method (FEM). It is clear from the FEM results that the stresses are inhomogeneously distributed in the volume of the component. the methodology of the algorithm is based on dividing the part into separate volume areas with different stress levels. these separate volumes can be produced by AM with different printing orientations and different types and densities of infill. the results of stress analysis are integrated into the developed slicer software to design a layering of the model and the setting of technological and material parameters of printing. the goal is to generate data in the form of G-codes for the optimized printed structure of the component to maximize its strength and minimize production time and costs. © 2023 IEEE.
