In this studio, we will explore the potential of inflatables for tangible interfaces by designing and fabricating inflatable props using a highly versatile and low-cost technique. the WireShape prototyping process can be used by researchers, makers, designers, and artists for the rapid and reliable manufacturing of inflatables. Based on our previous work [2], we introduce an accessible method for creating inflatable user interface elements using hand-made heat-sealing tools made from aluminum wire, applied to tpu-coated fabrics using a widely available T-shirt heat press. the resulting inflatable objects can be used as tangible artifacts for design and experience prototyping, or for the production of research prototypes. the proposed workshop will introduce participants to this method, focusing on the practical aspects of creating inflatables, and will enable participants to explore the potential of inflatables for unique and engaging interactions in the context of interaction design and data physicalisation. through hands-on activities, we will demonstrate how to sketch and create inflatables for tangible interfaces and discuss their benefits, limitations, and the possible integration of sensor technology. As a studio at TEI25, our goal is to facilitate a space where HCI researchers and designers can collaborate, create, and discuss opportunities and challenges.

In the context of Industry 5.0, the integration of virtual reality and eye tracking has become important in the transformation of automotive manufacturing processes. the research demonstrates the application of virtual reality and the use of eye tracking technology in identifying critical areas of visual attention in a vehicle, as well as providing quantitative data about this visualization in order to contribute to a more user-centered vehicle design. this study examines the combination of virtual reality and eye tracking in usability testing and user experience research, providing deeper insights into user behavior and interaction in the automotive industry. Following a design Science Research approach, an immersive environment was developed using Unreal Engine, the Pico 4 Enterprise head-mounted display and the Cognitive3D tool. throughout the work we detail the construction process, the use of the tools used and the potential of this application in the automotive industry, mainly in the vehicle development process and user testing phase. © 2025 IEEE.

To meet the miniaturization and reliability requirements of satellite system, a design approach on Ka-band transmitting module with a function of cross-backup was proposed. As required by the project requirements, this paper designs a transmitting module which works at Ka band. With the technology of Microwave monolithic integrated circuit (MMIC), and Micro-packaging process, this module consists of 2 channels of input, as well as 4 transmitting channels of output, each give up to 2W RF power and 15% in efficiency. the module has a dimension of 82 mm × 56 mm × 16.5 mm and the mass is less than 110 g. the component includes multiple unit circuits, such as RF/DC combiner, power amplifier unit, etc., which make a high level of integration as well as heat flux density. A lot of efforts have been put on aspects of circuit, structure, and manufacturing details. the circuit design and assemble parameters are optimized to achieve a good consistency of less than 1 dB in gain between 4 output channels. Secondly, the design of heat dissipation was optimized, to achieve the high reliable characteristic of the module. the work of the paper can provide a good reference for similar requirements of transmitting modules. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Modelling approaches for industry are typically classified into data-driven and physics-based models. the first type often struggles to interpret the complexities of physical systems and require enough data to capture patterns, while the second type depends on detailed information, which might be only partially available or subject to uncertainty. the recent methodology of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) is investigated as a hybrid approach that integrates neural network flexibility with the definition of physical constraints. the work focuses first on a review of PINNs applications in industry, highlighting their advantages over traditional methods in terms of efficiency and versatility. then, methods and tools for PINN implementation are described and a general mathematical formulation is provided. In order to validate the model, a case study concerning the prediction of the thermal power of an industrial Air Handling Unit (AHU) is proposed, detailing the implementation process. the results show good performance compared to traditional data-driven techniques, highlighting the main advantages of this hybrid approach, such as the efficiency even with simple physical models and a smaller amount of training data. Future research directions include the implementation of variants of PINNs with different neural network models or different forms of integration of physical knowledge.

the development of modern aviation industry urgently needs a large number of high-level flight simulation device (FSD) for multiple applications such as technologies research, aircraft test and pilot training. Traditionally, these FSD are manufactured by different TDM to meet individual requirement, which may encounter difficulty in correctness, integrity or fidelity. How to develop the FSD and its simulation packages for research, engineering and training scenarios with a more coordinated and efficient methodology is the key to the development of high-level FSD for one particular aircraft project. this paper proposes that FSD shall be classified, according to development process and control requirements into three categories, which are Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD), Flight Simulation Engineering Device (FSED) and Flight Simulation Research Device (FSRD). In particular, the simulation package provide the basis for the evolution of the multiple applications of the FSD. In this paper, the key design of FSD and simulation packages is given by proposing a technical strategy, which is based on system engineering (SE), with the development of FSED simulation packages as the central objective, and evolving and applying them to more mission such as research and training by validation and verification (V&V) of the requirement. this technical strategy shows major value (1) in optimizing correctness, integrity, and fidelity through process assurance, (2) in shortening the development cycle and reducing the cost by reducing duplication of efforts, (3) in reducing the technical risk of the simulation package, which is accompanied by aircraft and system design and development, and (4) in standardizing and eliminating of inconsistencies of the simulation modeling data, which is oriented from FSED with rigor configuration management. this research intends to promote the development of the domestic aircraft and the growth of the FSD-connected technology. © the Author(s) 2

the application of Internet of things (IoT) detection devices in the field of elderly healthy generates a large amount of detection data, which faces problems such as diversified data sources and non-uniform parsing methods. the fragmentation and confusion of the process from data subscription to data analysis have become important challenges affecting the development of the healthy aging field. In this paper, we designed and proposed an elderly health care framework with a model-as-a-service orientation. the framework automates the integration of health data for the elderly, including subscription services. It handles Model Training Analysis through a workflow-based system. Users can configure workflows using a low-code method provided by the platform. First, we abstracted and formalized the integration problem and workflow and defined a workflow description language. then, we built an healthy aging unified modeling framework based on the problem model and provided a general introduction to the framework architecture. the module for analyzing is responsible for model training, persistence, and data analysis, enabling users to customize the selection of machine learning models and corresponding parametric. Ultimately, we built a model library and an external RESTful interface based on the automation option of Automated machine learning (AutoML). the experiments demonstrate this paper's proposed framework's feasibility and effectiveness.

Industry 5.0 emphasizes human-centric approaches in technological advancement, particularly crucial in healthcare applications such as prosthetics development. While individual technologies like additive manufacturing, machine learning, digital twins, and tissue engineering have shown promise in prosthetics innovation, their integration remains a significant challenge. this paper presents a novel multidisciplinary framework developed through the National Centre for High-Performance Computing (CN-HPC) project, which addresses the gap between individual technological capabilities and their coordinated application in personalized prosthetics development. the framework, implemented through collaboration between six research groups from two universities, employs the House of Quality methodology to align technological integration with patient needs. Our approach encompasses a comprehensive seven-step process, from initial patient requirements definition through virtual modeling, production process optimization, virtual sensing, machine learning enhancement, digital twin simulation, to advanced tissue engineering. A data model facilitates seamless information exchange between different technological domains and research groups. this research contributes to the field by providing a scalable, human-centered framework for technology integration in medical device development, potentially extending beyond prosthetics to other healthcare applications. the proposed framework represents a significant step toward realizing the full potential of Industry 5.0 in healthcare manufacturing through the systematic integration of advanced technologies for delivering personalized prosthetic solutions. © 2024 the Authors. In this paper, we design and implement a high-precision image processing and measurement software based on Python. the software utilizes the Tkinter and PIL libraries to build a graphical user interface and integrates a variety of commonly used image processing algorithms, including grayscale conversion, edge extraction, Gaussian blur, image sharpening, binarization, and median filtering, enabling effective image enhancement and segmentation. In addition, the software provides interactive measurement functionality, allowing users to draw rectangular regions on the image using the mouse and automatically calculate the dimensions of these rectangles. Measurement results can be stored, displayed, and managed, facilitating users in analyzing and processing the data. To evaluate the performance and reliability of the software, we conducted experiments on multiple datasets. the experimental results demonstrate that the software can accurately process images of different types and qualities and provide stable and reliable measurement results. Compared with the existing C-scan measurement software of current equipment, the software developed in this study has certain advantages in terms of functional integration, interactivity, and measurement accuracy. the design and implementation of this software can meet the need to replace the existing C-scan system software, while also providing valuable references and insights for the further development of intelligent and automated image analysis systems.

As smart devices are rapidly being developed, and people trust data transfer mechanisms such as Wi-Fi and the way they use them, as well as the fact that they rely heavily on data transfer mechanics, there has been an increase in cyber-attacks. therefore, examining IoT safety threats and potential countermeasures can support investigators in determining how to deal with a range of stressful scenarios encountered when conducting cyber-crime studies to develop acceptable methods for dealing with them. the goal of this paper is to develop Blockchain-Based Forensic Investigation Metamodel for Investigating IoT Cybercrimes called (BBFIM). the purpose of the developed BBFIM is to improve the productivity and accuracy of examinations by providing a safe and decentralized environment where digital evidence, related to IoT-related crimes, can be stored, and analyzed to improve the productivity and accuracy of examinations. through the integration of blockchain technologies the developed BBFIM ensures that the reliability of the evidence is retained throughout the investigation. It also provides transparency throughout the process. this study utilizes design science methods for development and validation purposes. therefore, 889 IoT forensic models and frameworks have been reviewed in this study, and 15 models have been selected to develop the BBFIM. the developed BBFIM consists of three main IoT forensic practices: Forensic investigation phases, Forensic Tools and Techniques, and Blockchain Infrastructure. Compared to the existing IoT forensics models the developed BBFIM is fully decentralized which can guarantee the authority, consistency, and privacy of the data.
