Recent advances in the manufacturing sector - including edge-to-cloud continuum, machine learning, and digitalization - can enable smart manufacturing solutions, such as control optimization and predictive maintenance. One challenge in new system architectures is the efficient resource management under changing conditions while meeting process requirements, such as latency, when deploying software services. To address this, we propose an approach for self-adaptive service deployment that increases the resilience of smart manufacturing systems. We combine self-adaptation principles with run-time models - that describe the system in the form of the standardized Asset Administration Shell - to enable flexible software architectures for manufacturing. the proposed solution comprises the continuous adaptation of the service deployment in response to system changes, such as resource exhaustion or failure, to ensure an optimized operation. An evaluation of an example manufacturing use case shows that the proposed solution leads to lower execution latency and continuation of production in situations with low resources, e.g., through failures, compared to less flexible deployment approaches. © 2023 ieee.

Due to the vagueness and uncertainties due to the coronavirus, it is crucial to implement the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the World Health Organization and the authorities. therefore an effective control system is required that minimizes the vagueness and uncertainties of people who are on the front line during the period of this pandemic checking the entering persons in an indoor area where it is necessary to maintain a distance of six feet from one another to avoid the spread of coronavirus. In this research work, a robust and efficient system has been proposed that takes protective mask and feverishness values as input and applies them using the fuzzy logic algorithm. If these input values are according to the rules defined in the system, then the door will open as an output. Otherwise, the door will not open. It is, finally, analyzing the output values. this fuzzy model had been implemented using a microcontroller. the genuine difference in the duty cycle of the microcontroller’s output pulse was measured using a 100 MHz digital oscilloscope. Our proposed system was compared with different systems reported in the literature. this work reduces the human effort as well as the negligence of people and builds up the management system without the labor in a mint. © 2023 ieee.

In the field of access control locks, conventional methods often require users to download applications with Bluetooth connectivity, and biometric measures such as fingerprints or face recognition that introduce challenges like access to only authorized parties, limited device accessibility and intricate registration processes. To address these challenges, the research paper presents an innovative IoT-based Smart Door Lock system, aiming to redefine access control. Diverging from traditional approaches, this system eliminates the need for application downloads and simplifies the complexities tied to biometrics. the core innovation lies in the simplicity of a user-friendly 4-digit PIN for primary access, prioritizing ease of use. To overcome real-time access constraints, the system introduces One-time Password (OTP) and One Touch Access (OTA) modes. these modes eliminate the intricacies linked with traditional methods, ensuring immediate and hassle-free access for both authorized and unauthorized users.

Underwater computer vision system has been widely used for many underwater applications such as ocean exploration, biological research and monitoring underwater life sustainability. However, in counterpart of the underwater environment, there are several challenges arise such as water murkiness, dynamic background, low light and low visibility which limits the ability to explore this area. To overcome these challenges, there is a crucial to improve underwater vision system that able to efficiently adapt with varying environments. therefore, it is great of significance to propose an efficient and precise underwater detection by using YOLOv4 based on deep learning algorithm. In the research, an open-source underwater dataset was used to investigate YOLOv4 performance based on metrics evaluation of precision and processing speed (FPS). the result shows that YOLOv4 able to achieve a remarkable of 97.96% for mean average precision with frame per second of 46.6. this study shows that YOLOv4 model is highly significant to be implemented in underwater vision system as it possesses ability to accurately detect underwater objects with haze and low-light environments. © 2021 ieee.

With the improvement of the design and manufacturing level of jacket platforms, there is a breakthrough in the design, manufacturing, and installation of the platform in China. there are many rods of deep-water jacket platforms. If the manual operation and maintenance mode is continued, the maintenance cost is very expensive, and the safety and reliability of the platform are difficult to guarantee. through the two-way data transmission between the physical layer and the model layer of the digital twin system, the virtual and real image comparison is realized to obtain the stress data results of dangerous nodes, realize the real-time stress state data analysis, early warning function, and fatigue life prediction of the platform, and use the three-dimensional data simulation visual effect expression to feedback the detection results to the on-site workers to ensure the safety of underwater facilities. © 2022 ieee.

With the proliferation of 5G technology, IoT devices would have the potential to be more useful in the future. However, the computing capacity of IoT devices is poor, and some of them cannot be directly powered. In this paper, a promising design integrating mobile edge computing with wireless power transfer (WPT) is presented to address this issue. the MEC-WPT system has a base station with edge servers and multiple power beacon (PBs), which can handle offloading tasks from multiple wireless devices (WDs) and charge energy for them. Under the proposed system, the burst of task arrivals and the dynamics of the channel gain can lead to the instability of the WDs' battery power, thus affecting the offloading computation and the battery life. To tackle these problems, we develop an efficient strategy to improve the performance of task offloading while ensuring the stability of devices' power. In our method, an adaptive bilateral feedback control algorithm is proposed to control the transmitting power of WDs and the charging power of PBs. Mathematical analysis and simulations are both conducted to demonstrate that our method performs better than other alternatives for offloading task performance and WDs' energy stability. © 2022 ieee.

Smart devices have grown to becoming an indispensable part of many individuals' lives. this is due to cloud computing and connectivity, that enabled wireless controls and real-time monitoring that benefits various industries. Soft-computing techniques that has been integrated to many online services such as Amazon allows machine to understand consumer activity and autonomously cater to a personalized experience for each user. In the agricultural industries, smart system is a tool to enhance controls and increase farming precision to improve yield and product quality. Challenges in implementing smart agriculture system are still apparent to this day;(i) Mathematical Modelling of Operation, (ii) Lack of Data and Attention in Smart Farming system, (iii) Complexity of Drying Process. Using individual systems to solve an existing problem will allow you to quickly solve the problem for a while. Gap studies conducted on the basis of methods of predictive analysis of the labor market have proposed an improved approach to labor market coordination based on existing approaches as a result of the analysis. the methods of regulating relations in the labor market and the modeling process are investigated. As a result, a coordinated model of labor market regulation was developed. Evolutionary models of solving the problem of coordinating employment in the labor market based on digital technologies and individual models and algorithms are presented. A stochastic mathematical model of self-organization is proposed in the labor market. the degree of stagnation of the stochastic mathematical model of labor market relations is investigated. © 2022 ieee.

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) devices represent a valuable rehabilitation intervention for patients with spinal cord injury (SCI). SCI can result in significant functional impairments, including the loss of movement in the lower body. Currently, closed-loop stimulation strategies are preferred over open-loop systems, as the latter’s trial-and-error approach can lead to premature muscle fatigue. However, while closed-loop systems offer promise, feedback controllers often exhibit inadequate performance when addressing nonlinear effects in knee muscles, such as stiffness, spasticity, and fatigue. To address these challenges, an adaptive feedback controller equipped with a system identification controller is crucial for accurately detecting these nonlinear parameters in knee muscles. this paper proposes the development of a digital system identification controller designed to detect nonlinear parameters from the knee extension model’s response. the system identification was implemented and simulated using hardware description language (HDL) Verilog code, with its performance evaluated through HDL co-simulation in MATLAB Simulink. the simulation results indicate that all nonlinear effects including stiffness, spasticity and fatigue are identifiable once the rate-of-change response stabilizes at 4 s.

Road transport, utilizing roadways, is important for the movement of goods and people, posing a significant maintenance challenge due to the deterioration caused by poor materials and natural disasters. Cracks in asphalt roads are a major concern, impacting transportation quality, safety, and comfort. Identifying these cracks is crucial for maintaining high-quality roads. Nonetheless, the subjective nature of crack detection, time limitations, inaccuracies, and expenses restrict the extent of manual assessment by professionals. To address these issues, this study proposes YOLOv4, a deep learning solution adept at detecting road cracks. Utilizing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or drones, the road pavement was captured in Perlis, Malaysia, at an altitude of 10 meters for optimal image acquisition. these images are then labelled and input into the YOLOv4 model for training, resulting in accurate crack detection and validation. Comparing the results with the YOLOv3, Faster RCNN, and SSD model, found that YOLOv4 significantly improves crack detection accuracy, especially when using UAV images, thus enhancing previous research outcomes.
