In tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), the absorption line which relates to the measurement gas concentration is easily contaminated by the measurement noise, and an effective filter is beneficial to the practical performance of the TDLAS system. Different from the common filter, in this paper, an filter based on ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) is proposed to decompose the contaminated signal into several intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). the Mahalanbis distance which between each IMF and the original signal is employed to distinguish the noise and noise-free IMFs, and a self-adaption threshold filter which optimized by the monkey king evaluation (MKE) method is used to filter the noise IMFs. Numerical simulations verify that the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed filter lead to higher signal to noise ratio (SNR) and improve the accuracy of the TDLAS system. © 2019 ieee.

An industrial IoT network may involve hundreds of IoT end-devices deployed over large geographical wide areas networks (WAN). these devices are expected to operate over several years and their individual communication interface may be gradually upgraded with multiple communication links in order to fit the changing application and data rate requirement. As industrial networks are expected to perform with high reliability and availability, a continuous monitoring and maintenance of these communication links is essential. A software defined WAN (SD-WAN) based solution allows to adaptively monitor and manage the connectivity links as per the application requirement. In this paper we design and implement a working SD-WAN based multi-Access system for upstream communication between an IoT device and the control center. Each IoT device may have multiple cellular interfaces, and we control the end-To-end delay jitter variation across the different interfaces via an intelligent traffic splitting *** provide an analysis of end-To-end delay jitter under LTEs uplink connection and use the structural results so obtained to design a traffic split mechanism. We validate our analysis, and provide traffic split performance results from our working multi-Access system. © 2019 ieee.

this paper presents the design and development of a low-cost, open-source LoRa based Supervisory control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for monitoring and control of small-sized microgrids located in remote locations. the proposed system is based on the 4th SCADA generation (IoT based), which features the combination of connectivity of components for data sharing. the proposed system employs LoRa physical level communication as the communication channel, and comprises of voltage and current sensors that act as the field instrumentation devices to acquire electrical parameters from the system. It also features LEDs that represent actuators for control. An Arduino Uno microcontroller is employed as the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) to receive the parameters and process them for ttransmission. the Chirpstack IOT server, Node-Red, Influxdb, and Grafana are all installed locally on the Raspberry Pi (Master Terminal Unit, MTU) for data processing, storage, monitoring, and remote control of the actuators. the proposed system was set up in the Electrical engineering Laboratory of the Memorial University to monitor a 130 W, 12 V solar PV panel with batteries Connected for energy storage. the acquired data is published on dashboards created on Grafana for monitoring and control.

the manufacturing support can present task instructions to workers interactively according to the work situation. thereby, it is possible for the worker to perform tasks requiring advanced skills even if she/he is not an expert. In order to realize the manufacturing support, we are advancing research on displays that can present images of task instructions to workers. this paper describes the development of a high-resolution binocular video see-through display for presenting images. the video see-through display is composed of cameras, displays, and other optical components. First, the image of the work object is captured by the camera. Task instructions drawn by computer graphics (CG) on the image are drawn superimposed on the work object. then, while watching the composite image, the worker can perform the task. A display system consisting of a camera and display compatible with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) has been developed so far. However, the size of one pixel of the presentation image is almost the same as the gap width of visual acuity 0.7 of Landolt ring used in visual acuity test. If a person with visual acuity 1.2 watches the presented image, the resolution of the presented image is still low. If the resolution of the presented image can be further increased, more precise tasks can be performed, so that it can be applied to more manufacturing applications. In this paper, to realize higher resolution image presentation, a binocular video see-through display system prototyped using a 4K resolution (3820 x 2160 pixels) camera and display is introduced. then, in order to confirm its basic effectiveness, the evaluation results of the depth perception using the operators are reported.

there is still a lot of excessive use of lamps, televisions, air conditioners (AC) and other electronic goods, resulting in a surge in electricity bills charged by electricity users due to neglect and waste of electrical energy. Based on these problems a system that is needed not only to monitor but also to control electrical equipment remotely so that electricity consumption can be controlled. Wireless Sensor and Actuator Network (WSAN) technology can monitor the physical condition of the environment which is widely applied in intelligent environments. WSAN is placed at certain regional points that will be observed the physical condition of the environment, each WSAN can use several sensors and actuators which will later be sent to the server via a wireless connection. In this research, we will test by making Smart AC (Air Conditioner) where at every point where there is AC will be installed WSAN. Data from several sensors generated from WSAN will be sent to the server to be observed and processed using intelligent computing and machine learning (K-Means and Naïve Bayes) so that the AC can turn on and off according to the physical conditions in the place. We evaluate our model too by using Confusion Matrix and obtain the score for accuracy 90%, precision 83%, recall 100% and error rate 10%, So our model can be called good model. © 2019 ieee.

Following and moving according to human motion is an important task for mobile robots. To ensure more compliant motion planning and execution of mobile robots, they can not be controlled by real-time visual information. In the tracking process, robots need to recognize and track the target then, plan the motion and execute the motion. In practical applications, the environments are very complex, such as illumination, shadows and occlusion, which the traditional visual tracking algorithms often deviate or lose the target. therefore, to achieve fast human motion tracking, it is necessary to predict human motions by video prediction. In this paper, we propose a human motion tracking algorithm of mobile robot based on video prediciton. (1) the multi-layer generation adversarial loop network, which trained by off-line video dataset and learn how to predict human motion. (2) We used the pre-trained model to predict the state of the tracking target in the video. (3) this video prediction model was integrated into human-to-robot tracking algorithms of mobile robot following human system. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm can track human motion at a certain speed and precision. © 2019 ieee.

this paper presents a motion control of a triple link inverted pendulum on two-wheeled system, through Interval Type-2 Fuzzy logic control based Particle Swarm Optimization. Despite this model's heightened non-linearity and complexity for being a triple link system, it has enabled additional degree of freedom for having a two-wheeled mechanism. the model was developed in SimWise 4D to maintain its complex features, while allowing observations to the system's movements. the developed system was then integrated with Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic control, as designed in Matlab/Simulink. Specifically, Particle Swarm Optimization was applied to obtain the optimal values for input/output gain and parameters of the Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic control, towards enhancing the system's performance. Results have shown that the proposed controller was able to perform forward and backward motions control to the system in an upright position. the system is able to perform motion task with recorded system velocity of 0.04m/s and 0.02m/s for forward and backward motions, respectively. the controller was then evaluated based on its velocity and angular position or in stable manner. this system is envisaged to be very vital in the development of mobile robots with extended functionality.

In this paper, a state feedback closed-loop system with integral control is proposed for photovoltaic system output voltage regulation. Where P&O algorithm is used to control the voltage output. In order to verify the control scheme, it was applied to DC - DC converter boost type to improve its dynamic performance, and apply the improved system to the maximum power point. the proposed method is tested by computing simulation in Matlab/SIMULINK environment. the results show that the control technology can be applied to DC/DC converters and adjust the output voltage, then the validity of the technology is confirmed.

the NoSQL database HBase has been widely used to build data management systems and data warehouse systems primarily due to its inherent advantages in scalability, fault tolerance, throughput and distributed processing ability. However, HBase does not provide direct support for storing and retrieving spatial data. We designed a data management system for massive spatial points called SP-Phoenix based on two open-source projects, Phoenix and HBase. SP-Phoenix is highly scalable, fault tolerant, and supports flexible access to its spatial data through an extended SQL language. By taking advantage of geohash-based spatial indexes, SP-Phoenix achieves several basic spatial query operations including rectangular range query, non-regular area query and k-Nearest-Neighbor(kNN) query which are all essential primitives for realizing complex spatial queries. SP-Phoenix employs the user-defined functions and server-side aggregating and sorting mechanisms offered by Phoenix to impose most spatial filtering tasks on the server side in query processing, effectively reducing the computing burden of the client. SP-Phoenix also leverages a query optimization method based on spatial distribution statistics, which further improves the efficiency of spatial query. Experimental evaluations show that SP-Phoenix deployed over a small scale cluster can sustain an I/O throughput of over hundreds of thousands of data insertions per second, while serving spatial range queries and kNN queries with response times as low as hundreds of milliseconds. the experiments demonstrate that SP-Phoenix is applicable to a wide spectrum of spatial position related applications which demand high insertion throughput and real time spatial queries.

the control of inverted pendulum has been very attractive due to its complex dynamics. the aim of this paper is to investigate few control applications to this system. Four control schemes are applied to control the position of the pendulum and cart. these are PID, LQR, Pole placement and Fractional PID schemes. the optimal values of Q and R have been obtained by using the genetic algorithm. the simulation results are obtained using MATLAB. the paper also presents the comparison of performance from these controllers. © 2018 ieee.
