the industry usage for racing grade multi-rotors have not yet been widely probed. these multi-rotors focus on maximizing system actuation whilst minimizing system overshoot and oscillations. these systems usually employ cascaded PID control loops, and are generally largely tuned by hand. this paper presents a novel control method adapted from steady state integral methods derived from direct current motors in order to develop a new control scheme for racing grade multi-rotors. the performance of this controller was tested on a quad-rotor non-linear dynamic model simulator. the controller shows good robustness and performance which is evidenced from the very small magnitude error under the influence of disturbance, while making tuning intuitive and simple. © 2018 ieee.

Various control systems in engineering problems are modelled with linear differential equations where a linear control is used. On the other hand, linear models are not capable of representing many systems where the control is applied in a multiplicative ways. these multiplicative controls yield bilinear systems (BLS). Products of state and control take part in BLS, which means that state and control are linear separately but not jointly. In this paper, optimal control of bilinear systems with a quadratic cost functional is studied. A distributed parameter system is considered and a bilinear control is applied to the system. the control problem is turned into a modal control problem by way of reduced order modelling. Performance index (cost functional) is defined as a measure of the dynamic response and a penalty term on control energy. Pontryagins maximum principle is used to obtain the optimal control function that leads to a nonlinear two-point boundary value problem. Optimal control and optimal trajectory of the system are determined by solving this two-point boundary value problem using steepest descent method. the programming is done in MATLAB platform. Numerical results are given in graphics for showing the effectiveness and applicability of the introduced bilinear control for a parabolic distributed parameter system.

Many general speech engines are available that includes Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technologies and have been embraced for general applications. the present work is to examine the adoption of ASR technology in Air Traffic control (ATC) simulation environment. the paper presents a survey and evaluation of these speech engines that can be integrated into ATC simulators. the ATC system is heavily dependent on verbal communication between the Air Traffic controller and pilots which happens in varied phases between pre-flight to landing. the challenges that are normally faced to bring in the ASR technology to ATC domain are call sign detection, poor input signal quality, problems with ambiguity and use of non-standard phraseology. In this paper, we closely examine the performance of current ASR technologies based on different test scenarios and thus an assessment of current ASR technologies to apply to ATC is presented with quantitative figures and recommendations. © 2018 ieee.

According to REN21's 2016 report, the contribution of renewable energy is 19.2% for the worldwide consumption of energy by humans and rest of 23.7% of which is utilized for electricity generation in the year 2014 2015. Out of 19.2% of energy consumption 2.2% is electricity share from solar photovoltaic. With recent trends the demand for consumption as well as employment in PV sector is widen. Effective procedures are fundamental to convey maximum power with changes in climatic conditions, for example, partial shading of the PV cells. this paper shows another nonlinear current control plot for a single phase grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system. the controller is composed utilizing partial feedback linearization method which linearizes the system partially and empowers the controller configuration for PV system in reduced order. the reference current is figured from the maximum power point tracking system. © 2018 ieee.

the article represents MRAC strategies for controlling a mechanical prosthetic arm utilizing gradient method MIT rule. Depending on the uncertainty parameters like mass of the mechanical arm, friction constant and spring constant, an adaptive controller is designed and outlined. MIT rule has been applied to this second-order system, and simulation is done in MATLAB-Simulink for various estimation of adaptation gain. With the changes in adaptation gain, the adaptation mechanisms are changed and results are analyzed. Variation in the parameters should be in the specified range for MIT rule. Further Lyapunov stability approach has been applied to the closed-loop dynamics to ensure global stability on variation of plant parameters.

the field of brain computer interference has grown rapidly with the purpose of reading a human's mind, generating a certain output, controlling objects with this output and having an automated understanding of human reactions and responses to the surrounding environment. Electroencephalography (EEG) may provide an insight into human behavior and attention. there is a huge need in different fields, e.g. psychology and medical, for an automated approach that helps the psychologist in dealing with the massive amount of data in a sensible period. this research study proposes an approach to extract some features from infant EEG signals and evaluate the effect of the bad or good EEG channels on different EEG segments. the achieved work will provide an insight about the employment of the most suitable features to represent the EEG data. the acquired infant EEG data will be deployed to build an objectively evaluated framework that has the ability to provide an automated understanding of the infants' behavior, underpin the infant specialists in analyzing the infant attentions for stimuli within different environments.

In this paper, a state feedback closed-loop system with integral control is proposed for photovoltaic system output voltage regulation. Where P&O algorithm is used to control the voltage output. In order to verify the control scheme, it was applied to DC - DC converter boost type to improve its dynamic performance, and apply the improved system to the maximum power point. the proposed method is tested by computing simulation in Matlab/SIMULINK environment. the results show that the control technology can be applied to DC/DC converters and adjust the output voltage, then the validity of the technology is confirmed.

With the advantages of strong parallelism and mass information storage, DNA computing has become the hot spot in the field of computer science, mathematic, and nanoscience. Using DNA computing, lots of complex problems have been solved. Compared with the logic gates based on DNA strand displacement, we present an optimize strategy to introduce DNAzyme as a control. the output of this system depends on the fluorescent signals obtained by DNAzyme cutting. Additionally, we introduce the catalytic mechanism to speed up the reaction. Using this method, more complex structures could be built in the future research. Our strategy offers a new way to manipulate and control logic gates, demonstrating great potential application in computing field.

Distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks continue to pose a serious threat to various businesses and consumers. With the growth in the number of devices connected to the internet, these attacks continue to grow in number. Despite the availability of security tools, the attacks continue to happen and are causing various businesses to sweat. these tools may take anywhere from a few hours to a few days to counter the attacks, which is unacceptable. In this paper, we put forth a novel feedback control mechanism to minimize the effect of volumetric attacks such as DDoS. During an attack, the feedback control model detects and reduces the impact of the attack by maintaining the service level agreements (SLA) of the network service. the controller makes intelligent decisions to ensure the quality of service (QoS) metrics are gracefully degraded by tuning the micro-firewall rules such as the committed information rate and burst size. A proportional Integral (PI) controller is used as a closed-loop feedback controller to maintain the stability of the network in spite of an attack. this proposed architecture is verified in a lab setup, and we observe that we are able to minimize the degradation of the real-time service so that the user's quality of experience (QoE) is preserved. We validate the proposed architecture with a model generated by using the system identification technique. Results from the setup show that the closed-loop feedback control model stabilizes the network in real-time.

Recent advances in the development of the Internet of things and ICT have completely changed the way citizens interact with Smart City environments increasing the demand of more services and infrastructures in many different contexts. Furthermore, citizens require to be active users in a flexible smart living lab, with the possibility to access Smart City data, analyze them, perform actions and receive notifications based on automated decision-making processes. Critical problems could arise if the continuity of data flows and communication among connected IoT devices and data-driven applications is interrupted or lost, due to some devices or system malfunction or unexpected behavior. the proposed solution is a set of instruments, aimed at real-time collecting and storing IoT and Smart City data (data shadow), as well as auditing data traffic flows in an IoT Smart City Architecture, with the purpose of quantitatively monitoring the status and detecting potential anomalies and malfunctions at level of single IoT device and/or service. these instruments are the DevDash and AMMA tools, designed and realized within the Snap4City framework. Specific use cases have been provided to highlight the capabilities of these instruments in terms of data indexing, monitoring and analysis.
