this paper investigates the usage of Arduino microcontroller to control closed loop of Ionic Polymer Metal Composite (IPMC) actuator response designed for compact underwater application. We demonstrate control of single IPMC actuator by PID controller using MATLAB/Simulink Arduino Input Output (ArduinoIO) support package. Experimental results show that the microcontroller able to differentiate response speed, stability and tracking error of different thicknesses of IPMC actuator when stimulated by multiple voltage waves and frequencies. Based on step signal and square waves tracking performance results, thinner IPMC (t1) has more than 5 times respond speed than thicker IPMC (t2). However, IPMC t1 has lower steady-state stability and more sensitive to external noise compared to IPMC t2 due to IPMC actuator mechanism factors and current Arduino setup limitation such as low sampling rate. For sinusoidal waves tracking analysis, IPMC t2 with lower frequency reference input shows minimum erms error (3.12 %), while IPMC t2 with higher frequency contains highest erms error (28.70 %). therefore, added with further improvements in improving analog read sampling rate and analog write resolution, Arduino microcontroller can accurately control and analyse the IPMC actuator, thus manage to replace expensive and bulky current DAQ hardware. © 2014 ieee.

this paper presents the tuning of PID control parameters for position feedback control of motor and the position reference design for grasping task by a 7-degree of freedom (DOF) three-fingered robotic hand. the system of the robotic hand consists of DC-motors, magnetic encoder and a motion controller unit. the robotic hand has three fingers where each finger has two joints and two links made of perspective plastic material. the PID tuning is implemented to all six motors that are used to move all joints of the three fingers. Trial and error method is used for tuning the parameter of PID control to improve the transient response performance of the motors. For the position reference design, a set of position data is identified to produce the grasping trajectory for all finger joints. the trajectory for the robotic hand performs two types of finger configuration for grasping two different shapes of household solid objects. Both works were implemented via programming in Motion Manager Application. It has been observed that the robot hand has performed well with the tuned PID parameters by reducing the overshoot, rise time (T-r), peak time (T-p), settling time (T-s) and steady state error (e(ss)). Besides, the robot hand has also succeeded the grasping task with the proposed position reference trajectory.

this paper propose an implementation of behavioral-based control system architecture for a mobile robot which is equipped with 5 ultrasonic sensors. Using this control system, robot should be able to do some obstacle avoidance sequences. the implementation of behavioral-based control system is using active object computing model, which consist of event driven paradigm, event driven architecture, and UML State chart formulation. this technique is very effective for high mobility robot. At the end of this paper, the behavioral-based control system architecture is successfully implemented using active object computing model. Moreover robot is success making all possibilities scenario of obstacle avoidance sequences. the result shows that mobile robot is able to do obstacle avoidance sequences in simple and responsive manner.

Behavior-based control present a different approach in designing control system of robot. In this paper will be implemented behavior-based control system into an autonomous robot using Active Object computing Model technique. With this technique will be demonstrated coordination between behavior in parallel and switching behavior. Map building behavior is a behavior of robot to transform the reading of distance sensor to image of environment. In testing, it was shown the coordination of behavior in parallel was successfully demonstrated by map building behavior and wall following behavior. Map building behavior also successfully represents the reading of distance sensor into a map the environment in the form of images.

To deal with problems of after-sale maintenance service of belt conveyor manufacturers, the service-oriented belt conveyor remote auxiliary repair system is presented. the system network architecture and functional architecture of service-oriented system based on J2EE is presented here. Under this architecture, Auxiliary Repair service of combination of remote expert services and knowledge services based on collaboration technology is put forward;ontology-based knowledge representation model for belt conveyor is established, which achieved the active service of conveyor maintenance decision support and knowledge support. Finally, prototype software is developed to demonstrate the flexibility of above mentioned methods and technologies. there is no doubt that the proposed methods and technologies will provide important referential value for belt conveyor manufacturers.

there are varieties of failure mechanisms in electronic product, and they show a very strong dependence between each other. Understanding and describing the dependence of failure mechanism is the basis for product reliability prediction and assessment based on physics of failure. Starting from the characteristic of failure mechanism, this paper studies the classification of failure mechanism correlations, derives the mathematical model of reliability of each single failure mechanism correlation, and studies system reliability modeling method of electronic product considering failure mechanisms dependence based on reliability block diagram. Taking a voltage protection module as example, failure correlation between different components and dependence between mechanisms in one component are both discussed, their reliability models are built, and reliability parameters of the voltage protection module are obtained eventually.

Mass failures of slope, which includes movement in soil, rock, ice which cause a considerable damage to the natural habitat, environment, economy and other resources. Detection, monitoring and control are the three major issues regarding Real-Time applications. For a large scale detection of fault and monitoring the faults is one of the important applications that lead to advancement of many kind of technologies. In this paper A Land-Slide detection system is being developed at Bidholi (village), Dehradun, India, a region with high rainfall and versatile climatic behavior most of the year. Integrating Geo-physical sensors forming a heterogeneous wireless network helps in identifying the fault and this paper also includes development, deployment (analysis) and data retrieval of the sensors information using WSN. © 2014 ieee.

An internal model control method based on inverse system to improve vehicle stability was proposed. the inverse model approximated by neural network was cascaded with the original system in the method. Based on the idea of the inverse system method, the obtained system was controlled by the method via feedback linearization. A simulation is performed with it during two different conditions: step input and sinusoidal input, the results showed that the transient and steady response based on presented method does not depend on the accurate mathematical model of the system, and the presented control way can improve vehicle's yaw stability and control side slip angle and yaw rate effectively, and achieve steady transient nature, lighten the driver's burden. © 2014 ieee.
