Adaptive video delivery approaches perform video rate selection based on the streaming client's throughput estimate. In practice, the accuracy of the estimated throughput is limited due to feedback delay and the unawareness of the dynamics of the underlying HTTP/TCP transport layer. As a result, streaming applications employ large playback delays in the order of tens of seconds so as to maintain continuous video rendering with good quality and bandwidth utilization. In this paper, we introduce DASP, an advanced video rate adaptation, to achieve a low-latency adaptive video streaming. the key components of our solution are a server-side mirroring of the streaming client's buffer, which provides a low-delay feedback for the video rate selection, and a hybrid rate adaptation logic based on goodput and buffer information, which stabilizes the adaptive response to the dynamics of transport layer. We demonstrate the performance of our rate selection algorithm by evaluating the stability of the receiver buffer under low-latency and high-definition adaptive video streaming with variable bit rate encoding over an emulated wide-area network link. the results also show that our approach is promising and applicable for dynamic live streaming with a playback delay as low as the chunk duration.

Today renewable energy sources are integral part of energy mix in most of countries in the world. Carbon reduction issues and other ecological activity provide a wide possibility to progressive increase of installed capacity of renewable energy sources. Huge distribution of instable renewable energy sources like wind and photovoltaic plants brings new tasks in power system control and power system reliability. Prediction of power production is one of the ways to mitigate negative impact of operation of instable energy sources. this work presents application of a neural tree method from the group of soft computing method for renewable energy prediction. In this work we focus on photovoltaic power plant production prediction.

the cloud computing can allocate computer resources according to customers' different demand dynamic status, which has improved the calculation efficiency, and saved the cost of hardware. this paper establishes the 3D mathematical model of data programming tool radius compensation system, and gets the tool radius compensation control equation according to the interpolation function. It designs the tool radius compensation discrimination system with the combination of UG software. In order to verify the validity and reliability of the system, the paper takes the processing process of leaf as an example to design the tool radius compensation algorithm, and the compensation deviation has been made numerical simulation, which has obtained error compensation curve and tool radius compensation parameter table. It can obtain reasonable tool compensation cutter and cycle according to the input of tool parameters, which provides technical support for the research of numerical control (NC) machining technology. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

this paper introduces an algorithm for real-time line detection and tracking utilizing the Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) for UAV's vision-based hovering control system. We concentrate that there are many of lines where UAV can fly, and extract meaningful line to grasp of vehicle's attitude. We implemented image processing techniques on GPUs for real-time performance because detection and tracking of lines need huge computational resources. Experiments show affordable frame throughput that our approach is feasible in real flight. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

Cloud computing is becoming one of the most convenient ways for information services through network accesses. In this paper, we describe the architecture of cloud computing and discuss the issue of in-cast, which may downgrade the transmission performance when the number of simultaneous transmission servers is getting larger. the in-cast transmission may introduce the out of sequence of packet delivery and may reduce the system throughput. this paper constructs the software environment to simulate the performance of video streaming services delivered by the servers in cloud. We first examine the performance of the out of sequence issue of packet transmission when the Hashed Credit Fair (HCF) algorithm was applied and investigate the multicast performance of video streaming service with respect to the numbers of servers. With the increasing of the number of servers, we note that transmission performance is not improved, on the contrary, the system throughput downgrades sharply. We believe the simulation results of this paper will be helpful for the design of cloud video multicast services.

As the main hoist system of the vertical ship lift has poor synchronicity when load disturbance, a relative coupling compensation of multi-motor synchronous control strategy was proposed to the control system, and a fuzzy PID speed compensator was adopted. Finally, the results of the simulation in MATLAB 7.11/SIMULINK showed that the system had a good synchronicity and stability behavior.

Distributed control systems (DCS) and Supervisory control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are extensively used in the areas of critical infrastructure sectors and related environments. these computerized real-time process control systems, over geographically dispersed continuous distribution operations, are increasingly subject to serious damage by cyber means due to their standardization and connectivity to other networks. SCADA and DCS systems generally have little protection from the escalating cyber threats. In order to understand the potential danger and to protect SCADA/DCS systems, in this paper, we present Antivirus Evasion and its Defensive Methodologies for the flow control system monitored by SCADA in the laboratory. We have attempted to demonstrate the vulnerability of SCADA/DCS systems to such threats and have focused on the defensive measures and methods that are need of the day to prevent such attacks in critical infrastructure and industrial sectors. © 2014 ieee.

A human hand is a very complex grasping tool which can handle object of different sizes and shapes. Many research works have been done to develop an artificial robot hands with similar capabilities to a human hand, such a robot hand is also called a multi finger gripper. Most parts of this research are dedicated to control of multi finger grippers with emphasis on the finger tips or finger joints. By controlling a multi finger gripper, we enable the gripper to handle an object;in another words, controlling a multi finger gripper can be viewed in terms of controlling an object's pose and the forces between the object and its environment. Hence, an object pose controller with feedback from an object pose sensor suits multi finger gripper control. Also due to the non-linear dynamic system behavior in the joints of most multi finger grippers, an effective, easily-adaptable joint controller is employed. the paper discusses the object pose controller with great detail in a new joint controller. Since the joint controller is based on microcontroller and we do not use an exact analytical model for this case. © 2014 ieee.

the resource constrained legacy embedded systems are widely found in today's Industrial control system networks. the Manufacturing message service (MMS) protocol is an international messaging service standard for industrial communications with very limited security provisioning. Legacy embedded systems and real-time applications impose challenges to secure the MMS protocol. Analysing the relevant standards such as IEC 62351-4, this paper presents a secure MMS profile by implementing Transport Layer Security (TLS) into the MMS protocol. In this paper, we present a detailed evaluation of the secure MMS profile that include how TLS addresses the vulnerability of the MMS protocol and an analysis of its performance in a low resource embedded system environment. We found that the secure MMS protocol in legacy embedded systems introduces concerns such as high run-time memory usage and considerable increase of the duration of data read and write. Due to these concerns, real-time nature of applications can be compromised.

Almost every country have their own museum and standard procedure with different characteristics based on their state policies. In Indonesia itself until now, there are approximately 300 museum institutions. there are many problems currently faced by the museums include the management and processing data collection either structured or unstructured inside the institutions. therefore, this research was undertaken in processing and managing data in the museum institutions in order to be delivered to the public based on customized information they need. Virtual museum as instrumental for supporting the achievement of the museum functions as a whole and using social media to campaign collections, broadcast contents based on their location, communicating with visitor, attract and influence society, exchange information and waiting for their feedback from user perspective to improve public services. Virtual museum as a complex system delivering an information to the user to answer necessary services for internal and external uses. In our investigation, virtual museum should know, determining, providing information based on visitors characteristics, behaviours and desires. In this case we assume that right information is not enough, therefore system need to process once more time the information to become closest information for the visitors. We have investigated Museum of Geology, National Museum in Indonesia, Hermitage Museum in Russia, and for balancing we also observe online resources provided by Louvre Museum in France and Virtual Museum of Canada. Our result is a design of virtual museum engine which can obtain relevant information based on visitor characteristics, behaviours and desires through variety of media.
