With the development of intelligent home appliance technology, real-time home appliance status information is now generated in large quantities. New technology is necessary in order to process the large amount of status information that is generated every day. An innovative technology that has recently been used to process large amounts of data is cloud computing. therefore, in this paper, we propose a system model to control and monitor home appliances using home network and cloud computing technologies in a smart home environment. UPnP technology is used to extract status information from home appliances. Cloud computing technology analyzes and processes the information and also provides virtualization services to users. In the proposed method, the gateway collects and stores home appliance information using home network technologies and sends the information to the cloud server for storage and management. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

this paper propose an implementation of behavioral-based control system architecture for a mobile robot which is equipped with 5 ultrasonic sensors. Using this control system, robot should be able to do some obstacle avoidance sequences. the implementation of behavioral-based control system is using active object computing model, which consist of event driven paradigm, event driven architecture, and UML State chart formulation. this technique is very effective for high mobility robot. At the end of this paper, the behavioralbased control system architecture is successfully implemented using active object computing model. Moreover robot is success making all possibilities scenario of obstacle avoidance sequences. the result shows that mobile robot is able to do obstacle avoidance sequences in simple and responsive manner.

this paper focuses on large wind turbine hydraulic variable pitch system, in allusion to the limitations of traditional PID controller, and controls characteristics and performance requirements of variable pitch system, variable pitch system is controlled with the fuzzy model reference adaptive control strategies, its adaptive mechanism is a flexible structured fuzzy logic controller (flexible structured fuzzy logic controller-FS-FLC). this system has both simple structure of a general feedback control system and good ability of adaption. Besides, using FS-FLC as an adaptive mechanism improves the robustness and tracking accuracy of the control system. Simulation results show that the design improves the stability of the system output power, and has good control quality and robustness.

this paper presents a partial encryption scheme using absolute-value chaotic map for secure electronic health records (EHR). the HER system has been an emerging technology that allows medical personals to create, manage, and control medical data electronically through specific database or even web browsers. the proposed encryption scheme realizes XOR operations between separated planes of binary gray-scale image and a binaty imgae generated by an absolute-value chaotic map. the proposed is relatively simple containning a single absolute-value function with two constants and offers complex and robust dynamical behaviors in terms of random output values. Experiments have been performed in MATLAB using a magnetic resosnace image which is divided into 64 sub-blocks and 13th itterations were proceeded for encryption. Encryption qualitative performances are evaluated through pixel density histograms, 2-dimensional power spectral density, and vertical, horizontal, and diagonal correlation plots. For the encryption quantitative measures, correlation coefficients, entropy, NPCR and UACI are realized. Demonstrations of wrong-key decrypted image are also included. the proposed encryption scheme offers a potential alternative to a secure medical data records and web browsing through clound computing systems.

Behavior-based control present a different approach in designing control system of robot. In this paper will be implemented behavior-based control system into an autonomous robot using Active Object computing Model technique. With this technique will be demonstrated coordination between behavior in parallel and switching behavior. Map building behavior is a behavior of robot to transform the reading of distance sensor to image of environment. In testing, it was shown the coordination of behavior in parallel was successfully demonstrated by map building behavior and wall following behavior. Map building behavior also successfully represents the reading of distance sensor into a map the environment in the form of images.

this paper presents a hierarchical voltage predictive control (HVPC) method. In the hierarchical structure, the low-layer power system model is composed of generators, network, loads and automatic voltage regulators (AVRs) including excitation controllers, shunt capacitors and so on. Voltage predictive model which reflects global dynamic behaviors of power system and constrains of states and inputs are considered in the high-layer. It uses the least-square residual of system inputs and outputs as the objection function to establish the optimization problem of voltage predictive control. Improved interior-point method is adopted to solve the optimization problem. the optimal voltage references are obtained to coordinate AVRs in the low-layer to realize global optimum. We take advantage of ieee New England 39-bus system to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

the transient mathematical model for the STATCOM is developed in d-q coordinates in this paper. It constructs a pseudolinear system of STATCOM, using the inverse system method which based on the nonlinear feedback linearization theory. then, by synthesizing the pseudolinear system, a sliding mode variable structure controller is designed. this article focuses on the effect of dynamic response performance of the HVDC system failure, when using different reactive power compensation devices such as SVC and STATCOM, etc. It also compares STATCOM with conventional PI control with STATCOM with variable structure control. the simulation results indicate that the designed controller can enhance the static and dynamic performance of HVDC system failure better.

In this paper, we present a RFID reader scheduling strategy for an effective identification by varying coverage through power control. A RFID reader is incorporated into a surveillance system which tracks objects with visual sensors. A required separation between objects is defined to avoid group identification with multiple objects. In order to reduce the power consumption of a RFID reader, the power cost is simply modeled with object positions to determine the activation time and the range of a RFID reader. the power cost model also considers the effect of added power consumption establishing group identification. A RFID reader is activated when the estimated power cost for the current sampling time is smaller than the estimated power cost for the next sampling time. the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method reduces the power consumption with the effective object identification. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

Industrial wireless technology is another hot technology direction after the field bus and industrial Ethernet technology. therefore, it is particularly important to evaluate the performance of wireless networks. In this paper, based on ieee802.15.4 standard wireless network as the research object, a wireless network performance test device is developed and the testing platform is set up. By testing for industrial wireless network control system, such the throughput, packet loss rate of the token cycle, control cycle, as performance indicators are obtained. Delivering the hosted services via the internet is called cloud computing. It is attractive to business owners as it eliminates the requirement for users to plan ahead for provisioning and allows enterprises to start from the small and increase resources only when there is a rise in service demand. Central component that manages the allocation of virtual resources for a cloud infrastructure's physical resources is known as the cloud scheduler. Currently available schedulers do not consider users' security and privacy requirements and properties of entire cloud infrastructure. these results in major security, privacy and resilience concerns. the ability of cloud infrastructure is to support the internet scale critical applications. Without strong assurance, organizations should not outsource their critical applications to the cloud. It is one of the challenging problems to address. In this paper, we propose a secure and reliable cloud scheduler which consider both user requirements and infrastructure properties and supported by trustworthy data enabling the scheduler to make the right decision. We focus on assuring users that their virtual resources are hosted using physical resources that match their requirements without getting users involved with understanding the details of the cloud infrastructure. We present our prototype that implements the proposed cloud scheduler which is built on OpenStack. © 2014 ieee.
