In this paper, a semi-physical simulation platform of robot teleoperation system is designed, and a combined control approach using Jacobian matrix and Proportional-Derivative (PD) algorithm is proposed. A digital low-pass filter is designed to eliminate noise signal caused by hand-vibration of surgeons. the advantages of the proposed approach include easy implementation, real-time response and accurate master-slave tracking. the results of semi-physical simulation validated that the proposed approach realized accurate master-slave tracking for puncture surgery and the noise caused by hand-vibration was eliminated effectively.

Fractional order controller, which is actually an infinite dimensional linear filter, is increasingly becoming a focus of interest in control theory and engineering. the discretization of fractional order differentiator is the key step in digital implementation of a fractional order controller. Generally, there are two discretization methods, i.e., direct discretization and indirect discretization. Tustin operator is commonly used in discretization of continuous system. this paper focuses on the Tustin rule based direct discretization methods for fractional order differentiator. Firstly, fractional order derivative and its discretization are reviewed briefly. Secondly, power series expansion, continued fractional expansion and Muir-recursion are presented with MATLAB simulation scripts. then simulations and comparisons are demonstrated with an illustrative example. Finally, this paper is concluded with future work.

there are varieties of failure mechanisms in electronic product, and they show a very strong dependence between each other. Understanding and describing the dependence of failure mechanism is the basis for product reliability prediction and assessment based on physics of failure. Starting from the characteristic of failure mechanism, this paper studies the classification of failure mechanism correlations, derives the mathematical model of reliability of each single failure mechanism correlation, and studies system reliability modeling method of electronic product considering failure mechanisms dependence based on reliability block diagram. Taking a voltage protection module as example, failure correlation between different components and dependence between mechanisms in one component are both discussed, their reliability models are built, and reliability parameters of the voltage protection module are obtained eventually.

Unmanned intelligent vehicles become a hot spot of the world vehicle engineering and growing innovatory motivation in the automotive industry. By the Wifi communication, a novel remote and virtual driving system is developed in this paper. AM3359 processor equipped with the Linux is used in the remote and virtual driving system. Real-time environmental information of the car is captured by in-vehicle camera. the car's environmental information is transmitted to the client by the WiFi network. the steering wheel and other equipments are used to realize the remote real-time control of the car. the remote and virtual driving system consists of data collection and transmission module, system control module, system security module, power management module, remote communication and monitoring module, wireless communication module, and so on. PC terminal is established by a video display terminal, steering wheel, and other control equipments. the remote real-time operating experiments are performed. the experimental results show that users can monitor the operational status of the vehicle and the remote real-time simulation driving is achieved. the results verify that the developed remote and virtual driving system is effective, reliable, and real-time.

this paper first introduces a novel type of current-fed push-pull ZVS dc/dc converter. Compared with the traditional Phase-shifted ZVS converter used in fuel cell system, this new converter can reduce the semiconductor switching losses and EMI noise and increase the circuit conversion efficiency. this paper also presents a detailed derivation of small-signal model using state space averaging technique. then it designs the parameters of PI regulator for the current-loop and voltage-loop based on small-signal model. Finally, it gives the simulation model of the dual closed-loop control system with PSIM simulation software. the simulation results show that the designations of small-signal model and two controllers are feasible.

Cross-regional interconnection of power systems, large-scale integration of renewable energy and interaction between demand side and power systems are raising new challenges to the operation of a large scale power system, such as complexity, uncertainty. A risk quantitative assessment method of emergency control measures is proposed to improve power grid transmission capacity based on the study of risk assessment model. the cost of emergency control measures including generator tripping, load shedding and HVDC modulations, and stability control strategy affected by the Rule 599 are taken into consideration in this method. Several transient instability risk indexes are proposed to quantify the transient stability level of power systems. Also the influence of different control quality on risk values is analyzed. With considering both security and economy in the indexing of the cost of improving unit transmission capacity, evaluating and selecting emergency control measures comprehensively are achieved.

the bi-directional DC-DC converter is a typical hybrid power energy storage system, this paper presents a hybrid control approach for the bi-directional DC-DC converter to achieve a good control performance. the operation mode of the converter is divided into Buck mode and Boost mode according to the direction of energy flow. Considering the hybrid properties of bi-directional DC-DC converter, the hybrid automatons are obtained based on hybrid automaton theory. then the process of control algorithm design is equivalent to the guard-selection problem of hybrid automaton. Based on the circuit theory, the guard conditions are selected. the experimental results show that the proposed hybrid control algorithm has a high degree of robustness, a low amount of computations as well as a global stability.

Computation, networking and controls are in the midst of a true transformation. Previously it was assumed that delays in network communication would inhibit control systems from leveraging networked resources such as remote compute power. Now, industrial and residential applications of the Internet of things force us to revisit principled deployment and support of distributed sensing and actuation. Web standards provide key resources in the development and support of flexible distributed systems, however the conventional wisdom is that their use adds to the network delay and uncertainty, and makes a difficult control problem intractable. We quantify the effect of an important set of web standards (both formal and informal) in the control of physical systems. the results reported in this paper indicate that although the use of web standards provides an effective path to flexible implementation of distributed control, there are software design choices that impact the observed performance in significant ways.

this paper considers the fuzzy modeling and H ∞ state feedback control for network-based quadrotor under unreliable communication links, and there are delays and packet dropouts throughout the transmission. the nonlinear quadrotor in this paper is firstly approximated by a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. the network-induced delays and packet dropouts in both sensor-to-controller (S/C) and controller-to-actuator (C/A) channels are modeled in a unified framework. then a fuzzy controller is designed so that the resulting closed-loop quadrotor system is asymptotically stable with guaranteed H ∞ performance. Finally, a simulation is given to illustrated the procedure of the proposed approach.

In this research study, a wireless web-based inventory control system framework is suggested as a possible solution to leverage the rural SMEs challenges. the study had three objectives: 1) Analyse how rural SMEs conduct business using manual inventory control system, 2) Explore challenges and issues affecting the process of conducting business, and lastly 3) Determine how wireless inventory control system could be used appropriately to improve rural SMEs. Subsequently, the goal of this research study was aimed at conceptualizing wireless web-based inventory control system framework for rural SMEs leading to suste-nance and competitiveness. Diffusion of Innovation(Do I) theory underpinned the study and interpretive paradigm was followed using qualitative methods with open-ended questionnaires, semi-structured interviews as data collection methods. As the proposed information system was not yet developed or available to be tested, the Do I adoption at-tributes were used to analyse the empirical evidence collected from rural SMEs using pre-determined set of themes which were derived from research objectives. Ultimately, this research study concluded that the webbased inventory control system and wireless technologies could assist leverage the challenges of rural SMEs in Ga-Mphahlele, Polokwane.
