the recent usage control model (UCON) is a foundation for next-generation access control models with distinguishing properties of decision continuity and attribute mutability. Constraints in UCON are one of the most important components that have involved in the principle motivations of usage analysis and design. the importance of constraints associated with authorizations, obligations, and conditions in UCON has been recognized but modeling these constraints has not been received much attention. In this paper we use a de facto constraints specification language in software engineering to analyze the constraints in UCON model. We show how to represent constraints with object constraint language (OCL) and give out a formalized specification of UCON model which is built from basic constraints, such as authorization predicates, obligation actions and condition requirements. Further, we show the flexibility and expressive capability of this specified UCON model with extensive examples. © 2010 ieee.

Addressing changing market conditions and customer needs requires more flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing systems. Distributed intelligent control systems based on agent technologies are seen as a promising approach to provide reconfiguration abilities. Existing work has been focused on the reconfiguration of higher layers concerned with production planning and scheduling. However, a different approach is needed for reconfiguration of the control software at a lower level closer to physical components, in order to enable a better adaptation to changes and disturbances in the local environment. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of online reconfiguration of the low level control for automation agents. Our approach relies on a reconfiguration infrastructure for real-time control software based on the IEC 61499 standard. We detail the features of this infrastructure as well as its integration within the architecture of an automation agent. We also describe an implementation example with timing measurements showing the ability for rapid reconfiguration. Using our approach, reconfiguration can be performed locally without the need to restart the control system.

As the number of nodes in large scale network control systems increases, allocating constant bandwidth to all the nodes is neither practical nor efficient in terms of quality of control because of the limited amount of available bandwidth. In order to resolve this issue of bandwidth management in a networked control system consisting of several control loops, dynamic methods for resource allocation should be used. Bandwidth allocation techniques like Large Error First (LEF) and some auction based techniques exist which have approached this problem from the perspective of efficient bandwidth usage, and from the perspective of performance improvement in the control loop. In this paper, we present a novel Behavioral control (BC) based adaptive bandwidth allocation method in a fleet of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV). the BC algorithm uses the UGV's speed and trajectory relative to the future path to allocate the available bandwidth. Simulation results have shown that the performance, in terms of the trajectory tracking error and tracking time, has improved up to 22% and 9% resp. when using the BC algorithm compared to existing bandwidth allocation algorithms.

this design takes the 16-bit ultra-low power MSP430F149 microcontroller produced by TI Company as the control core. Using a high-precision single-bus device DS18B20 as the temperature sensor, the keyboard as the temperature input setting, and the temperature value displayed by the 1602 LCD, temperature measurement and controlling are realized within the closed environment. And the nRF401 wireless transmission module could transfer the temperature value to the PC. through the PID algorithm, the system has a high temperature measuring and control accuracy. the system circuit has a simple, clear structure, easy to use and save energy. What is more, it is convenient to be directly remote monitored through PC. © 2010 ieee.

this paper investigates the problem of tracking control for a class of linear networked control systems (NCSs). A linear system with interval time-varying delay is employed to describe the NCSs in consideration of both network-induced delay and packet dropout. An LMI-based sufficient condition on the existence of a network-based controller which guarantees an H-infinity-tracking performance is derived by a new discretized Lyapnov functional. Based on the stability condition and the particle swarm optimization technique, an algorithm is presented to design the tracking controller. Two examples show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

An adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode (AFSM) control system is developed to control parallel DC-DC boost converters. the AFSM control system that combines a fuzzy adaptation technique with sliding mode control to enhance robustness and sliding performance in a class of uncertain multi-input multi-output (MIMO) nonlinear systems is proposed. Using an online adaptation scheme, a fuzzy sliding mode controller is used to approximate the equivalent control in neighborhood of the sliding manifold. the controller improves the dynamic performance of a parallel boost converter;the output voltage is robust against load disturbances and the output currents are very well equalized. Experimental results show that the proposed MIMO-AFSM control system is found to achieve favorable regulation performances even under load-resistance variations. © 2010 ieee.

this paper describes the design and analysis of a closed loop Fuzzy Logic controller for temperature control system of a gas pilot plant. the overall model is built in MATLAB/Simulink- technical computing software that has adjustable structures where variables for the model and control strategies can be modified. Simulations have been performed for both controllers to observe the response. Results of the PI-Fuzzy controller are compared with the response of the conventional PID controller. the PID controller response using Ziegler Nichols open loop, Ziegler Nichols closed loop and Cohen Coon method are presented and evaluated against the response of 3, 5, 7 and 9 membership functions of the PI-fuzzy controller. © 2010 ieee.

In this paper, a wide research results upon the potentials of implementing Multi-Agent systems (MAS) technology on Tehran-Iran power distribution network to gain high degrees of independency, is proposed. this work is in the area of agent-based and/or knowledge-based applications, distributed optimizations, distributed computing and expert systems. the proposed MAS is implemented using Java Agent DEvelopment Framework (JADE), which is fully accomplished in Java and compliant with Foundation of Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA), also graph-theory-based expert systems implemented, which executed using PROgramming in LOGic (PROLOG), can be integrated with Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE). In order to power restoration decisions, Binary Knapsack Problem (KP) optimization algorithm is implemented with PROLOG. It is shown that, MAS technology's impact on outage management, upon medium-voltage (MV) power distribution lines, makes it be autonomously performing and effective cooperative. Since cooperation becomes more and more popular in software industry, the proposed MAS technology also offers modular, extensible, adaptable and versatile approach. ©2010 ieee.

With the rapidly growth of wireless sensor networks (WSN), more and more services provide people up-to-date information such as weather forecast, earthquake reports, fire alarm, even for the surveillance system, and so on. the raw data are usually hard to be understood by users. We had proposed an innovated sensor observation service with web-based and GIS-based architecture, which is named WSN Application Service Platform (WASP) [25]. WASP is a data management center, which designed with the concept of Services Oriented Application (SOA) as a Cloud Service. the raw data can be transferred into add-on valued data and shown on the web pages through WASP. Users can query and obtain the valuable information and realize the meanings of these data through web-based interfaces, which is defined in Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) by Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). Based on WASP, we propose a flexible SWE-based Data Observation and Event Notification Framework on Social Networks for smart home applications. Data can be shown immediately on social networks (i.e. Facebook) via the framework. All sensors and devices provide their location information to data center and form a community. the proposed framework provides remote control functions for WSN to increase the data retrieval efficiency based on OGC SWE Sensor Observation Service (SOS), Sensor Planning Service (SPS), and Sensor Alert Service (SAS). the proposed system is helpful and efficient for user to enjoy the smart home applications. © 2010 ieee.

this paper developed a speech controlled interface for vehicle on-board diagnostic (OBD) system. the proposed vehicle OBD system contains three parts. they are OBD embedded global position system (GPS-OBD) module, speech controlled interface, and vehicle surveillance server. the GPS-OBD module is designed to monitor the real-time location as well as operation information of vehicle. the real-time location information contains driving date, driving time, longitude, and latitude obtained from GPS receiver. In addition to these-real time location information obtained from GPS receiver, the GPS-OBD module can also record the real-time vehicle operation information, e.g., vehicle speed, engine rpm, coolant temperature, battery voltage, fault code number, and others from OBD system. Both of the real-time location and operation information will be uploaded to the vehicle surveillance server via 3.5G wireless network. At the same time, the speech controlled interface can be used to operate the GPS-OBD module. the GPS-OBD module can recognize speech commands and make proper responses in text-to-speech (TTS) format to the drivers. the derivers therefore could safely operate the proposed system without removing their eyes from the road. the vehicle surveillance server is designed to receive and record the real-time vehicle information. the authorized supervisors or servicemen can use this server to access the state of vehicle in the real time. the proposed system is very useful for the detection of vehicle pollution, warning of vehicle malfunction, remote diagnosis, and roadside repair. © 2010 ieee.
